Kernelics members were supposed to join existing Product/Development Teams and worked in an Agile / Sprint format to deliver tasks as if they were always part of the team. Our goal was by the end of 2023 to have a rewritten version of our mobile and web apps, because technology used became obsolete - VueJS 2 and NativeScript. New technology stack to be used was React and React Native. Key points for Kernelics members were: 

• Enter and onboard fast 
• Be efficient at fixing bugs and maintaining old application and web app 
• In some cases add business critical features to the old application and web app that couldn't wait for rewrite and 2024. 

After the initial success with Kernelics we asked them to assist us on few of our teams with the help of rewriting React app.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• We used sprint, so sprint velocity and delivery was used to measure the progress 
• Kernelics members were always part of a team with Team Lead involved with constant flow of communication of on the performance. 
• Team Leads were made sure to demonstrate progress using Agile metrics.
• Primary goal was to be ready by deadline of end of year 2023.

From their end no Project Management was necessary. Nikita and Dasha from Kernelics primary target was to provide us good candidates and made sure that they fit in nicely. They followed up on the progress and performance of their members and in some rare cases provided us alternative candidates in a fast manner when things didn't worked out. 
It was a pleasure doing business with them. We never had to wait more than 2 weeks to find a good fit candidate that entered our ranks and started to deliver tasks.

I liked the personal touch and words Valeria and Nikita used to approach me. They were involved in various projects including a complete software supply chain security solution, an all in one eCommerce platform as a service, a survey creation platform, and others. The work involved using Jira, Confluence, Github, and working under a Scrum approach with 2-week iterations. 

All items were provided according to the mutually agreed schedules, and Kernelics enabled us to progress swiftly with their impressively fast turnaround time. The team displayed exceptional adaptability to changes and suggestions.

The project management was exceptional. Their project managers consistently maintained their presence and ensured tasks were properly organized in the backlog. We appreciate their sprint planning approach and their emphasis on outlining the risks associated with incorporating a lot of new features in a single release. I was really impressed with how fast they could adjust to the ever-changing demands of the projects we were working on. Their approach to developing MVPs was really insightful, keeping us focused on what truly matters.

Eschatology Entertainment is a Cyprus-based game development company. We create a new generation of immersive hardcore experiences set in the unique living game world around an apocalyptic theme.

Our goal was to develop a site with a unique and personalized design that would convey the atmosphere of eschatology as well as be editable by non-technical people.

SOLUTION

One of our teammates worked with Kernelics on several projects before we launched Eschatology Entertainment. So when the time came, it was our Option 1.

We provided basic site requirements and recommendations. Based on this, the Kernelics team provided different site design concepts with different color palettes, block layouts, and fonts that matched the eschatology theme. Once the design was approved, the Kernelics development team proceeded to implement it. We had a few changes to the original requirements, but Kernelics was able to quickly rearrange and incorporate the new changes. The following technologies were used to develop the site: Strapi СMS hosted on Heroku, Next JS hosted on Vercel, GraphQL. They also helped us with basic SEO setup.

All the work, from the creation of a unique thematic design to development and production, took about 3 weeks.

Any questions we had were answered instantly, and any changes arising in the process were promptly implemented. Telegram was used to facilitate communication.

What impressed us the most was the communication and flexibility. We were in a hurry before release, and Kernelics did a great job of moving forward quickly and efficiently. They were available even on holidays and weekends.

Communication and flexibility are some of the pillars of their workflow. Kernelics responds very fast to inquiries and the quality of developers is very high.

I’m the CEO and founder of Neverland, a home garden and lawn marketplace. We have a mobile app where people can sign up and learn about plants. They can also shop from our curated selection of plant and gardening merchants.

We needed Kernelics to support our app’s development for quicker releases. They also provided us with more resources.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve onboarded one of Kernelics’ resources to kick the project off right away. They also provide flexibility in terms of commitment; if we want to bring someone on board to be committed to the project for three hours a week, we can do that. Their team has also worked to integrate themselves into our development cycle. So far, we’ve been using them for 18 or so months.

We use React Native to develop it. Kernelics has been responsible for the entire buildout of the app — they handle everything from signup and onboarding flows to e-commerce setups within the app. The team has also integrated other features into it.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

To measure success, we look at the code’s quality and scalability. Kernelics’ developer has been creating high-quality, scalable code that’s easy to understand — we can easily onboard other engineers to work on it. 

Moreover, we’ve launched the firm only 3–4 weeks ago, but we have a waiting list of 37,000 people. We’re driving them into the mobile app, and because of the developer’s work, we’ve started to grow and scale the product without too much downtime.

How did Kernelics perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is great. In terms of tools, we use Slack to communicate with Kernelics. We also use other general tracking and collaboration tools such as Miro and Coda. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with the skillsets of Kernelics’ developer, who’s also taken a great level of ownership of the project.

No, there aren’t any. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Conduct an interview process to find the right fit in terms of the developers that Kernelics will provide to you. By doing that, we’ve ended up with a good developer.

I'm the Marketing Manager at a virtual food brands company, responsible for all marketing activity for our food brands.

We needed to launch a portfolio of three virtual food brands in quick succession, and required a webpage for each to allow customers to learn more about our brands, view our menus and make it easy for customers to click through to menu pages on delivery apps such as Glovo and Deliveroo.

Kernelics is a trusted pre-existing partner for web development – they're very competitively priced, provide excellent client communication in real-time, and deliver good work on time.

We had a kickoff meeting to align on approximate timelines, understand deliverables and requirements from our side in order for Kernelics to begin their work. We agreed to use Telegram for most day-to-day communication, and to use Figma for wireframing and design mockups before moving to the build.

I mainly worked with the CTO Vlad, as well as some other members of the Kernelics team for a short time.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

All three websites were delivered on time, in full and we are happy with the results. We're not marketing to drive traffic to the sites yet, so web visit and click through data is not relevant at this time.

Kernelics are excellent at providing quick, clear and understanding communication – they were upfront about any potential delays, honest and direct with feedback, and accommodating when changes to project scope or timeline were required. We used a combination of Slack, Telegram and email to communicate during the project.

Their communication skills, value for money, and reliability were impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Given budget limitations, they fulfilled the project perfectly. It would have been nice to add some extra bells and whistles to the UX experience, but this was not expected in the agreed budget or scope.

I was introduced to them through a referral. I decided to go with them based on their flexibility and thoughtfulness in listening to my project requirements.

I provided them a project brief, and we had an introductory call to describe the project. I provided product specifications and they provided a development team along with a project manager and business analyst to help break down the requirements. We used a Java backend, and we implemented an iOS and Android application.

At the end of the project, I was mainly interacting with the project manager and business analyst. However, throughout the course of the project I probably worked with 10 different developers (across iOS, Android, Web, Backend), and they ranged from senior to junior developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I was able to launch a first version of the application about 5 months after the first conversation with them. Subsequent versions were faster and more streamlined as we pegged down the process, so we ended up shipping two more versions in the following 5 months.

We use Slack, JIRA, Google Docs. They were generally very timely, and had good project management skills.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I found them very accommodating and competent teammates. Their quality was generally pretty high-- versions shipped were well made, minus a few follow-ups which they were quick to fix. I think their adaptability and engagement with the project can set them apart-- even the developers cared about what they were making. Also, when I looked at the infrastructure they set up, it was professionally done.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

This was my fault, but probably helping clients think through the cost of what scale they want. I probably implemented more infrastructure than I needed initially.
