This team handled complex design tasks in the areas of injection molding, dye casting, and metal fabrication. This included intensive ideation work around extremely custom componentry. They have been an integral part of the development process, from initial concept modeling, through each version, and into the design-for-manufacture phase.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

KDE was approached with the idea of a new type of drinkware product. The work was split up across 3 main milestones. 

Milestone 1 consisted of a proposed direction accompanied by research gathered by the engineers at KDE. 

Milestone 2 consisted of a fully fledged CAD design with a proposed manufacturing process. The design was tested and altered accordingly which led to the delivering of the final milestone. 

Milestone 3 was delivered with finalized drawings and models to help aid in future manufacturing and prototyping.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was measured in timed milestones to ensure successful progress was being made. The project consisted of 3 milestones. All 3 milestones were met on time and without any delay.

While working with KDE they showed excellent time management skills and were able to deliver everything I needed and more. During our work together some changes had to be made last minute. KDE overcame these obstacles and delivered faster than expected.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I found 2 things very impressive about KDE. The first is that KDE has a very knowledgeable team. The second being how adaptive and impressionable their team members are.

The work completed with KDE could not have gone any better. I believe they did everything to the best of their ability.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Evaluated KDE and their previous work against other contractors. Since they had experience working on automotive designs, I decided they would be a good fit for our needs

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We explained the concept for the helmet accessory on the call, KDE cam back with a few initial designs which were refined over follow up calls. Then when a winning design was selected, they fleshed it out and made the 3D model, put it through DFM to make it effective for 3D printing.

Very effective with bi weekly calls and open communication

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Yura and Yaroslav were excellent to work with especially considering when we engaged, Ukraine was in war. They have great work ethic and are incredibly talented to work with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No - they followed all my instructions and did exactly as we asked.
