I am the IT Director at a company that provides varied services to law enforcement and correctional entities around the world. Our company has over four hundred employees in five continents. I oversee our US operations.

For what projects/services did your company hire Katpro Technologies Inc?

Our company wanted to duplicate one of our development environments in Azure. This was not a traditional "Lift & Shift", but rather a creative adaption requiring a a lot of dynamic changes. Since no one here had the necessary knowledge in creating a server environment in Azure, we hired Katpro to setup the environment and provide a knowledge transfer during the process.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to duplicate our local environment in the cloud. The big challenge was creating the communication servers that locally use specialized hardware and to work with our development department on this aspect of the project.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We performed many in-person interviews. and Katpro Kothand from Katpro seemed not only, very knowledgeable, but also very personable, which was very important to us.

Describe the project in detail.

This was a long process with many meetings with different members of the development and IT teams. after getting an understanding of the environment, the VM's were created in Azure and then reviewed by each department. Many meetings were held and with each meeting, the environment was tweaked and brought closer to what we wanted.

What was the team composition?

we only had the one consultant on site from Katpro.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Eventually the project was scrapped, so we could not measure success. This was due to outside forces.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was fantastic. As stated earlier, Kothand was both knowledgeable and personable, which made the flow extremely easy.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was most impressed by Kothand's adaptability. Ech day would bring a new challenge and each time, he always found a way to resolve it.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The knowledge transfer was good, but not well planned. I think a "teaching plan" would have helped this process along. However, read this as a suggestion, not as a complaint.
