I’m the CIO and a partner in the web division of an adult novelties company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Kanaan & Co.?

We needed help with SEO, PPC, and digital marketing services. Around 2016, we were working with another company, but we then started seeing considerable drops in our traffic, so we started looking for another partner.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Since Kanaan & Co. came in, they’ve taken over our entire digital marketing efforts. First, they built a new WordPress website for us, taking us from a store-extender program into an API-type program to host our own products. For this project, they created all the product pages and implemented on-site SEO strategies. As for its design, they asked us to pick from a few templates, and they then created a custom one with the attributes of the templates we chose. A couple of years later, in 2018, they helped us release another version of our website.

Besides website development, Kanaan & Co. has taken care of our email and Google Ads campaigns. For social media advertising, they focus on YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, and they help us come up with all the content too. Additionally, I currently have them assisting us with some things related to our current website, and I know that if I need something in the future, they’ll help me out too.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with 10–15 people from Kanaan & Co. I work directly with Erez (Owner & Growth Marketing Consultant), but I’ve also interacted with IT people and 2–3 different content writers.

How did you come to work with Kanaan & Co.?

Erez worked with the company we previously worked with, acting as the main SEO specialist. He was one of the most talented resources there. He then left the company to start his own venture, so I contacted him via email when we were looking for a different partner. He was very interested in working with us, so we started collaborating immediately.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $3 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around February 2016, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Kanaan & Co. did an amazing job with our new website, and it turned out to be beautiful. Once we launched it, we started seeing great rankings out of it, and when we released the second version, we saw more growth.

When the pandemic hit and people were at home, we managed to hit the number one ranking organically for all of our major keywords on Google, and we saw a 400% growth. For example, just in May 2020, we had gross sales of almost $1 million.

Kanaan & Co.’s services gave us a big advantage back then; they exceeded our expectations. However, we ended up taking a big hit in November 2020, when Google launched the Core Web Vitals algorithm update, and we’ve been recovering since.

How did Kanaan & Co. perform from a project management standpoint?

Erez provides a top-tier project management service; even if I would need to call him late at night, I know that he would answer. We communicate via WhatsApp, email, and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Kanaan & Co. focuses on the client, and their customer service is amazing. There hasn’t been a time when we couldn’t get a hold of them because they’re always there no matter what. They are also very transparent and answer every question, which is great. Additionally, their content writers are amazing, as are their IT people.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they’ve been a great partner, and I wouldn’t want them to do anything differently. The Google algorithm change really affected us, but that had nothing to do with Kanaan & Co.’s services.
