We needed a website for the first edition of an environmental film festival. At a workshop, we explained the concept of the festival to jut-so and told them what we wanted the website to be able to do. They then presented us with two designs so that we could choose one. The website was launched twice, once as a short version and a few months later as the full version.

Jut-so has built us a website that we can now continue to work with.

Jut-so was very professional. We were always able to reach them quickly and easily, they adhered to specifications and kept to schedules. We worked on a shared Miroboard, which made the collaboration even easier.

Based on our old website, jut-so developed a new design and a new Wordpress website for Circularity e.V. jut-so did also implement custom design features based on our requests. They also provided us with some additional ideas for our brand based on an intial workshop.

Jut-so developed a new website for us, allowing us to make own changes as well as creating own landing pages based on their work. They helped us drive engagement, e.g. newsletter sign-ups, general seo optimization and provided analytics.

The team was very responsive and easy to reach. We had several in-person and online meetings, allowing us to be fully involved in the process. Even with us only working part-time, they found time to finalise the project. Overall, the communication was professional, fast and solution-driven.

With our unique setup and team structure (mostly volunteers, therefore not the fastest when it comes to response times), jut-so was really patient with us and always found a way to make it work. They tailored everything to our needs.

Anything was delivered as expected. For our budget and needs, and given what jut-so did for us, the work provided was great.

We needed help with writing our website's copy. We were in the process of developing a new site and we didn't have any in-house marketing specialists.

jut-so did the copywriting of my site based on the information I gave them. We also worked closely with them on the SEO; we provided the first keyword analysis, and they added some of their own.

We were really happy with their work; we got a lot of calls two weeks after the website went live. Before, the copy was too short, and people didn't realize what we were doing — everything changed a lot after jut-so provided us with this service.

How did jut-so perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was great; they were fast and responsive, which enabled them to finish in a few weeks. We used Jira, Figma, phone calls, and Microsoft Teams regarding tools and communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were reasonable with the price, and they provided a great service.

I don't think there's anything they can improve on.

Check their website first to see if their writing style fits your target group — if it fits your style, they are a great choice.

I work for an eCommerce platform in German, and I am the Head of Content and Social Media.

For what projects/services did your company hire jut-so, and what were your goals?

We hired jut-so to help us create our new corporate website after our rebrand. Our goals were to have a corporate website for our partners and talent, that would be aligned with our new Corporate identity and Tone of voice. We needed to implement it fast, so the page needed to be live in 3-4 months.

We delivered the initial design assets, and jut-so great designers and developers made it come alive via WordPress. They developed everything from sketch files, and also created new pages following our CI.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We worked with jut-so because they were very professional from the first meeting. They came prepared with a plan, asked the right questions, and seemed like a good team to collaborate with.

We had a first meeting to understand what were our goals, and what actually we needed to deliver from then. Then they created a very detailed project proposal based on this. We had a kick-off meeting between our designers and jut-so designers. We delivered the first sketch files and jut-so worked on bringing the first version to live.

We had feedback sessions, and then they developed the design on WordPress. The implemented the content we send them in English and german We had run-through sessions with all teams involved to be able to work on the content on the platform in the future. They launched the page They fixed bugs and issues after launch

We have ad great feedback from our partners and talent about the new page. We dont have any data to share at this point.

I enjoyed working with Lorenz, a very capable person. My perception from the meeting we have, is that he knows how to guide the project forward, and puts the right people to get the job done.

When we were in the bug fixing phase, we had a bit of confusion about what was getting done and what was not. They had implemented a tool for us to check, but nothing seemed to move. However, we mentioned this, and then we changed the way of working to make it more transparent.

I looked around for web development agencies. I compared jut-so’s website with their competitors, and I loved their site’s simplicity. 

I wrote them an email, and they responded immediately. From that, I realized our teams were a fit and spoke the same language, and they could potentially understand our complicated content. With that, I decided to work with them.

jut-so’s project management has been perfect — we have a clear idea of where we are throughout the process. Everything has been laid out on Miro, which we use to collaborate. We communicate through phone calls and emails, and contacting them is always easy — they’re always there. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

jut-so has many specialists, and each one of them is dedicated to what they’re doing. They constantly provide feedback about improving the site, such as using shorter texts to make the platform readable and exciting. 

I love jut-so’s commitment to the project and high level of expertise. In addition, I appreciate the openness of our teams in terms of communication and feedback. jut-so isn’t afraid to let us know if we have bad ideas — I feel assured that I’m working with experts.

I can’t think of anything.

Check the fit between your teams. If you’re open to feedback and expert advice, then you should work with jut-so. However, if you’re sensitive and closed-minded, they won’t be a good fit.

This project was very important for us because we didn’t have a corporate identity, design, or website. We went from zero to a hundred after what jut-so did for us. We now have an image and a website that reflects who we are, what we want to achieve, and where we want to go. 

How did jut-so perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is extremely good. We used Asana as a project management tool to develop our website. From the beginning, we’ve had a very clear view of every step of the project, and every step has been clearly defined and documented.

What did you find most impressive about them?

jut-so reacts quickly when needed. We’re also impressed with their ability to tailor one-stop solutions to our needs. It’s great to find everything we need in a single company because it makes the process faster and easier. Also, it’s very easy to talk to them, which is amazing because I value being able to share my ideas, questions, and being guided by them in the process.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could create content for social media campaigns. We would’ve liked it if they had offered us this service as well.

You can trust jut-so a hundred percent.

What was the scope of their involvement?

jut-so developed our WordPress website and landing page in collaboration with an Estonian design company. jut-so received all the frontend elements for the website, but they were given the graphic design in PDF form for the landing page, so they had to code it themselves.

What is the team composition?

We worked with one person from jut-so.

They were referred to me by a friend.

The total budget was $2,000–$5,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them around August 2020, and our relationship is ongoing. We’re planning to build an e-commerce platform with them in 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

jut-so is a startup as well, so they were really responsive and understood our needs. The communication was very good, the implementation of the website was accurate, and they had a good price. jut-so is a good match for us, and we couldn’t imagine working with anyone else.

How did jut-so perform from a project management standpoint?

It was beneficial that they could work with a company outside of Germany. We could communicate via WhatsApp and other channels. We also liked having a single point of contact so communication was more streamlined. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The landing page project was unplanned, and I asked them to do it on short notice. They managed to implement the landing page in just two days. It was critical for us, and we weren’t their biggest client, but they accommodated us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have no criticisms. For our budget and needs, and given what jut-so did for us, the collaboration was great.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I don’t know whether or not it’s because they were referred to us, but the process was very easy in this case. Working on creative projects can be difficult because it’s more subjective. However, we were really happy with jut-so. I recommend maintaining a clear, centralized communication system.

They deliver very good quality. The team is very quick, helpful, and professional. It’s very easy-going to work with them.

How did jut-so perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate via email, phone, and video calls. They’re great at meeting deadlines. Usually, our side is worse about keeping up with meetings. The team is always fast to reschedule things, though. We also use Slack, Jira, and FlowMapp for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They not only focus on the different parts of the project; they also look at the project holistically and evaluate what else could be improved. They guarantee that we get the best result.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We have a very specific product and it sometimes it’s difficult to explain what our customers’ needs are. That’s more a problem with our product itself, though. Overall, they’ve been great to work with.

My advice is to be open to the ideas that the agency has and not be so narrow-minded.

What challenge were you trying to address with jut-so?

We had to go through a name change process due to a previous name's licensing issues. It had been one of our sub-brands for more than 25 years, but because the original company had to go back to the licensor, we had to change the company name.

We needed a complete relaunch of our brand and website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Their team did corporate design development, logo design, web concept, and web design & development. This work included an illustration for the site, tone of voice, content editing, SEO, and API integrations. The site is on WordPress, but it has been tailored to our designs.

They continue to develop the site.

What is the team composition?

The two heads of the company were in close contact with our team. We worked directly with the designer, the corporate development person, and the content editor.

The web development team was there, but we had no direct contact as they were processing the designs.

How did you come to work with jut-so?

The website design was awarded during an agency pitch to jut-so.

The project cost €55,000 (approximately $66,600 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started our engagement in June 2020, and the site is set to launch at the end of the month.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their work has been excellent. Throughout the process, we were surrounded by a professional team with the highest expertise and areas of responsibility. They were also sociable, approachable, and fun to work with. Their creative team has great ideas.

We’re positive that we’ll meet the launch date. I’m very confident we will reengage them again in the upcoming months after launch for more services.

How did jut-so perform from a project management standpoint?

Due to COVID-19, we never met in person – despite being in the same city. The whole process was through Zoom, phone calls, email, Jira, Asana, Google Docs, and Google Tables. It worked.

We had to work on a very tight schedule. In the middle of December, we have to give back the old company name. Three weeks before we originally planned to launch, we made a large change request where we decided all the content developed in-house by us was supposed to go through them for the final edit. This meant we had to change the launch date, and it was all handled professionally.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciated their creativity. The way the design team worked with us was quite far away from where we came from to where we are now.

I really enjoyed the way that it was jointly developed in discussions. I enjoyed that there was always fun during meetings. It was always enjoyable working with them. There’s a big strength in project management through their communication around project planning.

The results that came back from the web development team was very high standard.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I was talking to my boss earlier about this question. He had nothing to add. We’re really happy with our choice of them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Challenge them and be surprised. When we started the corporate design, we came from a very boring and traditional IT background. We had a couple of requirements, but we also asked them to give us something new.
