How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $14,000–$15,000.

Our engagement with JustAddWater started in November 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
JustAddWater built exactly what I wanted. It was a smooth transition. They met every deadline, and as far as our milestones, they delivered before. If there are any bugs, they were fixed right away. I still plan on using them.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We have 2 different but associated companies.. (Cellarworks.com, Thefarmwarwick.com) and one not for profit (needgr8r.org). We are the owners and designers of the companies.
For what projects/services did your company hire JustAddWater?
We needed someone to see our vision and work with our designs creating these websites. Needgr8r.org is fully functioning website with databases and other technical aspects necessary to maintain security and be user friendly/functional. The other two websites are for business and needed to portray the right feel to our clients. JustAddWater has done a great job. We also needed ongoing maintenance and trouble shooting as things were discovered or we wanted changes.
What were your goals for this project?
To have up and running/working websites as soon as possible with as little back and forth and hand holding as necessary. To have clear communication and followup. Regular updates as to the progress of the projects.
How did you select this vendor?
We have worked with JustAddWater for many years (about 4-5 years) and we originally found them on Elance and have continued working with them ever since on all of our IT based projects.
Describe the project in detail.
Take conceptual drawings and design and turn it into a fully functional and working website. Start to finish and turn key. Maintaining all the aspects and databases of the website. Connecting necessary accounts and providing solutions for security and upgrades as needed.
What was the team composition?
Myself as company owner and our designer giving JustAddWater the basic ideas. They have a team of IT experts that fill the different roles needed to accomplish the work.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Once the project has worked through the design and conceptual phase JustAddWater takes the reins and delivers updates as they are completed for feedback. This process continues until the project is completed. Website is then launched and maintained for problems and upgrades by JustAddWater.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Great.. good communicators and nor need to hold their hands.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Honest billing, results, follow though to completion. Happy to make changes and give advise along the way.
Are there any areas for improvement?
They are really busy and try to look after all their clients with equal effort.. I would suggest they continue to look for good employees that can help with the demand they have created with their new and existing clients.

How did you select this vendor?
Competitive rates and a proven track record.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
A standard CMS website, with additional custom elements including a media library, news feed, events calendar, etc.
What was the team composition?
1 designer at our end and lead developer/project manager at JAW end. 2nd developer utilised as required internally at JAW.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
JAW's approach and skillset gives us the confidence to take on bigger more challenging projects.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Regular review sessions using 'commented' pdf screens via Google drive. Where necessary online meetings to clarify/discuss detail. Sandbox environment allowed for further site enhancements once the initial site launched. JustAddWater responded promptly and reasonably to all comms, despite time zone differences.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Prompt service. Robust coding. Ability to adapt to shifting project spec. Proactive approach.
Are there any areas for improvement?
None at this stage. The project spec could always be improved, but that is a client end problem, not developer end.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We build tailored web application for small and medium sized companies in order to provide a customer solution which fulfils the need maximumly. We like to break down complex processes and provide intuitive web applications and designs.
For what projects/services did your company hire JustAddWater?
We were looking for a long term development partner in order to support us with building out the platform applying the Scrum development methodology.
What were your goals for this project?
Since we were developing a new concept a high level of flexibility was needed. Along the way we noticed that Justaddwater was not only fulfilling our needs but was also strongly involved in the product / concept design which ultimately made the product even better than we had planned.
How did you select this vendor?
I got into contact with Justaddwater via E-lance / Upwork and hired the team for some smaller projects. Pretty soon it seemed this was the team to work with and built together on a disruptive concept.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
The team of Justaddwater has fulfilled this project form a technical perspective. They led the full development, back-end, front-end, API connections and so on. We have been working in short sprint cycles of approximately two weeks were we provided details brieffings and mockup designs. Justaddwater developed the sprints and provided great feedback on the gives directions if they had found even a better and more robust solution. Pretty soon we didn't feel like a customer but more as a partnership with the team.
What was the team composition?
We did an agile development method so there was a backend developer involved, a front-end developer and a team lead.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
Already within 6 weeks after providing the MVP scope we launched a very first version on the concept to our customers which made us able to collect instant feedback. The valuable and quick feedback of our customers made us able to develop further on strong needs so the backlog has been growing quickly since our customers were really keen on our product. The team of Justaddwater was able develop in high speed and provided very qualitative work throughout the project.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
We have been using Asana as communication platform which has worked out really good for us. The Scrum method was working good since there was a bi-weekly upgrade of the project to our customers which created a very positive sentiment.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They understand business goals and can convert them into web applications. Good insights and proper questions fired to us led into a beautiful product.
Are there any areas for improvement?
The team is very enthusiastic and passionate about their work, this enthusiasm sometimes led into a little lack of punctuality regarding meetings and timings but their great work compensated that.

"They completed every task we assigned to them—even the work we thought would be too complicated."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I was a co-founder of Bring on the Beer LLC, a craft beer website based in Oregon. We sold and shipped local beers from the Pacific Northwest around the country, but we've recently closed down the business.
What challenge were you trying to address with JustAddWater?
Our business was purely online, so we were focusing on improving the functionality and appearance of our website. Initially, we hired them to solve a small issue for us. We were impressed with their work, so we hired them to build an entirely new site.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The JustAddWater team built a new database on our site that enabled the searching and building of multiple pages. They created the system to handle several different categories. The improved filtration system allows users to refine search requests and navigate the hundreds of pages we developed.
What is the team composition?
I worked directly with Himanshu (CTO & Admin, JustAddWater). He was consistently my main point of contact throughout the project, even when he worked as an individual contractor.
How did you come to work with JustAddWater?
We found them on Upwork. We received around 50 bids on our project, but Himanshu gave us a thorough explanation of his approach. He stood out to us, and we hired his company after gaining confidence through multiple meetings.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent under $10,000 on their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with JustAddWater from 2012 to November 2018, when we closed our business. We worked together until we shut down the website, and the engagement ended.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The new system that JustAddWater built made it smoother for us to run our business. It also contributed to an increase in sales. Additionally, our customers were pleased with the improved platform. They exceeded our expectations and created a database that strengthened our company.
How did JustAddWater perform from a project management standpoint?
Having one main point of contact made communication easy—we developed a strong business relationship because of this. Whenever I needed something done, I could communicate with Himanshu directly and not worry about any misunderstandings.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They completed every task we assigned to them—even the work we thought would be too complicated. JustAddWater team made the project look easy, and they had stronger technical abilities than anyone else I’d worked with.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Although we never had any issues with their work or timing, a quicker response time later in the project would have been helpful. Communication was slower once JustAddWater began working with multiple clients, but we expressed we didn’t need them to rush.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Communicating your requirements upfront and with clarity helps to ensure JustAddWater understands your vision. It’s easier for their team to implement your ideas if the communication is strong. If you change your requirements, be upfront about your needs and they’ll be willing to make the changes.

E-Commerce Dev for Healthy Juice Company
“They were very receptive to my comments and adjusted accordingly.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I was the CTO of Zuma Juice, but we’re currently in the process of selling the company. We distribute freeze-dried organic juices that are full of nutrients and made with whole-food ingredients. We offer a variety of juices and vegan protein powder.
What challenge were you trying to address with JustAddWater?
We needed development assistance.
What was the scope of their involvement?
JustAddWater set up our website, which is an e-commerce portal that supports our juice sales. We’ve launched its second iterations, and we’re working on the third. We’re in the process of selling Zuma Juice, so the project is currently on hold. Before the pause, JustAddWater was working on creating a custom dashboard and CRM to replace the various applications we use to manage the website.
The entire platform is customized. In its current state, we drive sales to the web portal using UltraCart’s API and process them using a customized API built by JustAddWater. The team also integrated additional functionalities that work for our marketing and sales stack, which link back to UltraCart’s CRM. We weren’t happy with that software, so we asked JustAddWater to build the custom dashboard and CRM. Once we start working again and finish those elements, we plan to build out our own cart features.
I’m still working with JustAddWater on other projects while we finalize the sale. Now, they’re building a custom registration site for a volunteer project I’m working on.
What is the team composition?
My point of contact was Himanshu (CTO, JustAddWater) and he’s been fabulous.
How did you come to work with JustAddWater?
I tasked a couple of different vendors with a coding test project to get a feel for their ideas and approaches. I ran each of the submissions by a past colleague and ultimately chose JustAddWater.
How much have you invested with them?
As Zuma Juice, we spent $32,000 on their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in October 2016, and it’s an ongoing project.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I have a specific vision for the way things work on our website. Often, I’m not satisfied with third-party apps. JustAddWater has been instrumental in creating high-functioning solutions that align with my vision. They brought new and improved ideas and alternative approaches to my attention, helping me solve various issues and better support the business.
How did JustAddWater perform from a project management standpoint?
When we were working on the Zuma Juice platform, I spoke with JustAddWater almost every workday for about two hours to review our completed work and come up with strategies for our next steps. We also troubleshot any problems that we encountered. Most of the communication was through Skype, WhatsApp, or other messaging tools.
It was a structured and smooth communication process, sharing ideas and feedback effectively and adding notes to project documents. They were very receptive to my comments and adjusted accordingly. Usually, JustAddWater would expand on my suggestions and deliver something even better than I’d asked of them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The JustAddWater team is always available and responsive. If I found a bug in the middle of the night, they’d wake up and take care of the issue. They’re very strict about their timelines, especially for bigger projects. We’ve never been behind schedule because of their team. If there’s ever a delay, it’s because of a hold up on our end.
Additionally, the team communicates technical information in accessible language, helping me make tough decisions. They point me in the right direction when I’m making choices about certain tools and applications, and I trust their guidance.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can’t think of anything. About nine months ago, I asked if they could help with design-focused CSS modifications. They agreed to help but were clear that it wasn’t a service line that they specialized in. The quality wasn’t on par with the rest of their work, but it wouldn’t be fair to penalize them for a skill they don’t advertise.
Any advice for potential customers?
Clients should clearly document their vision and desired functionalities to help JustAddWater envision the final product. Their English is good, but there may be some miscommunication when dealing with colloquialisms or slang. The team is good at adapting to their client’s way of speaking. Phone conversations are a bit challenging. Overall, they’re better at interpreting written English.
