A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO and founder of a custom mobile and web app development shop. We’ve been in business since 2001.
What challenge were you trying to address with Jupser?
We hired Jupser for staff augmentation.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Jupser assists with WordPress and React projects. Our teams are both agile shops. Jupser works from concept to delivery on our projects. With one product, we started with a visual design where their team went from a Photoshop document to a full WordPress site. Similarly, we created another Photoshop design where they took the concept and built a React Native mobile application.
What is the team composition?
At our peak, we’ve engaged with four different resources.
How did you come to work with Jupser?
We previously worked with their founder Maksym (CEO, Jupser) before. Their flexibility in providing resources on an on-demand basis makes them stand out.
How much have you invested with them?
Their services cost between $50,000–$100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement with Jupser began in July 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Jupser builds quality work and software from concept to delivery. We have several applications that have received thousands of users monthly.
How did Jupser perform from a project management standpoint?
We provide project management on our side, but we communicate with them multiple times a day. Their team delivers all work in a timely manner.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I appreciate their responsiveness. Jupser can take a requirement and turn it into a product quickly, without a lot of setup.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, not really.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
As you would with any agency, make sure you understand what you’re asking for with requirements, expectations, and delivery time.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the VP of corporate strategy at Pinnacle Mountain Homes. We’re a luxury home care provider that does everything from building custom homes to full-service interior design with a high-end furniture retail store. Our home care program manages homes that homeowners don’t want to rent but want to have taken care of when they’re not using them We also have a luxury vacation brand that manages over 200 vacation rental properties and a travel agency that provides full-service vacations.
What challenge were you trying to address with Jupser?
We needed to build a custom platform across all of our business lines that could help us manage everything we do.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Jupser built us a custom vacation rental platform with a booking engine and database to manage all of our guests. We started with a series of kickoff meetings to talk about our business and define where we wanted to go and what we needed to get there. They manage both web development and custom software development. We’ve integrated the custom vocational rental platform with our construction business and interior design business, for which they also designed and built using a modified WordPress template. They’ve built three versions at this point.
What is the team composition?
We usually have a project manager and developer working on our team. If we're doing a big project, we’ll increase to two or three developers. Over the course of time, I've worked with five different developers as well as one designer.
How did you come to work with Jupser?
We started working with their founder before he started Jupser. We were referred to him. He started working with us on the side while he worked for another company.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent more than $500,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2018, and it's ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their work has had a tangible financial impact on our business and increased efficiencies. The software we’ve developed fulfills two full-time roles with our maintenance team as well as one accounting position—which saves us significantly on staffing costs. The software has likewise helped our company become a leader in our area because we can effectively manage so many business lines. The platform also increases efficiencies for our guests and homeowners who can, for example, see all of their data in real time.
How did Jupser perform from a project management standpoint?
They communicate clearly—on a daily basis—and deliver quickly. They make themselves available pretty much all the time, which is pretty amazing considering the time change. I try to have meetings with them very early in the morning my time, both because it’s my preference and because I’d like to keep from having them work too late. If I send them an email in the middle of their night, though, they sometimes respond right away. It makes the time change a non-issue.
We’ve chosen not to pay for project management from their side because that’s my job here. The project managers that I have worked with have been awesome but we just decided to cut that cost out. They do a really good job as long as we’ve clearly outlined the deliverables and timeframes.
We work in a “just-in-time” manner of development wherein we don’t outline our needs and set deliverables in advance but rather work together on multiple tasks in a flexible, hands-on process. We’re fluid with our schedule and budget. We outline the infrastructure and needs and then let them develop. Our priorities change on a weekly and monthly basis. Some months not much is happening and other months we need as many people on our projects as possible. They've been really accommodating to respond to what we need and prioritize new things as they come up.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They manage a highly complex platform with a lot of different business entities and industries. The platform works with multiple business lines that are all very different in nature including billing, style, and services. Their ability to navigate the complexity of the project is impressive.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We could both be better at budgeting. It’s not necessarily a weakness because, as the client, we haven’t been very strict with the budget. But we could both be better at outlining a budget and reviewing it monthly.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Outline as much of the project and deliverables as possible and be really clear about timeframes. If I give Jupser a timeframe and a budget, they'll stick to it. But if those two things are left a little bit open-ended, they can lack clarity.
I also think being available on Skype to receive information and answer their questions in a timely manner is really important. Skype is better than communicating via email, which we’ve found to be more formal and less productive.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the project manager at Clientskey PTY LTD. We sell products related to workforce management.
What challenge were you trying to address with Jupser?
Our product wasn’t working and we had no idea why. We were looking for a team that had the capability and knowledge of the technologies our product needed, along with the necessary development experience.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They’re handling our product and managing it. The product is being given to companies that have over 2,000 employees. They work on it to make sure that the product remains stable for that much upload.
They changed a few logics and source codes. For the web, they use React.js. For mobile, they’re using React Native. For AI, they’re using Node.js. For the database, they’re using MongoDB. For server, they’re using AWS.
The purpose of the product is to provide a platform where the on-field workers can be managed. Many businesses have one manually. If there are workers out in the market, management can call them and ask them to do the task. Our product has automated that. Management can allocate those jobs and can see who has reached the site and how they’re performing. All those things are managed by the system.
What is the team composition?
I currently work with one support resource, one mobile developer who specializes in React Native, one web developer who specializes in React.js, and a project manager.
How did you come to work with Jupser?
We found them and were impressed by the amount of knowledge and experience they had. It was remarkable. That was the factor that caused us to have faith in them and try them out.
Within the first couple of months, the way they worked made us believe that they could help us out in the long term.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in June 2018 and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They made a product work that wasn’t working at all. Jupser brought remarkable changes to our product.
How did Jupser perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re efficient and effective. I have no doubt that they will be able to handle any task that I give them. They’re good and know what they’re doing. They can be trusted.
They effectively and efficiently updated tasks on Jira. They were transparent. In the initial phase, they gave us a rough estimate of the number of hours a task would take. Then they create user stories on Jira and did it step by step, updating for any bugs or issues. They worked in an agile methodology.
Even though there’s a time difference, whenever we had a client meeting, they purposely stayed online so they could address any issues. They did this without us even asking. It showed us that they actually want things to work. They don’t just work for money—they want to achieve something.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’ve offered a lot of support without our asking for it. They’re also very professional.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They need to expand their services and hire more people. I’ve already conveyed that to them. They have understood my point and might be working on it.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Ask them how many estimated hours they think it will take. Consider hiring a resource on a full-time basis. Even though they offered it, we never did and we faced a lot of issues regarding the availability of resources.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the VP of software and technology for TaxToken. We provide financial services in the cryptocurrency space.
For what projects/services did your company hire Jupser?
We hired Jupser to develop a responsive, one-page web application for the consumer market.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to deliver a viable solution in time for the 2019 US tax season.
How did you select this vendor?
I had previous experience with Jupser. I was and continue to be pleased with the quality and timeliness of their work
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
The design team took rough web designs from mocks to actual responsive HTML/CSS using Bootstrap. The HTML/CSS was incorporated into a new ReactJS/Redux web application.
What was the team composition?
A total of four Jupser team members participated in the effort. Two were web designer and two were ReactJS developers.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
Our deliverable was behind schedule before we brought Jupser on. Additionally, our internal development staff was lacking modern web development skills. Without Jupser's contribution, the project would have been a failure.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Max (President, Jupser) managed the availability of Jupser’s resources. It was effective.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their technical skills and ability to execute and deliver were noteworthy.
Are there any areas for improvement?
They could incorporate AWS deployment/management into their offerings.
Jupser delivers high-quality service, crafting products that have received a ton of users. Their team’s flexibility and responsiveness make them stand out from other vendors. They work quickly and promptly. Customers can expect a team of communicative resources.
