Also, having a more detailed visual project timeline might have helped us feel more closely involved in the day-to-day progress—though to be fair, Journai did keep us well-informed through regular check-ins.

These are minor suggestions, and they certainly didn’t take away from what was a smooth, collaborative, and very rewarding experience.

I'm an executive at RSR Parking, a company that provides AI autonomous parking solutions for motorbikes.

What challenge were you trying to address with Journai?

We needed help building a fully autonomous AI parking solution for our motorbike station. Our main goal was to replace our manual ticketing system with camera-based detection to speed up traffic flow and eliminate the revenue loss we were seeing from lost tickets.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Journai handled the complete end-to-end software infrastructure needed to automate our parking operations. They built a custom computer vision engine that detects license plates instantly and the backend logic that differentiates between monthly members and daily guests. The main deliverables were the ANPR system, the payment gateway integration for our exit barriers, and the real-time analytics dashboard we use to manage the site.

Although Journai focused primarily on the software and integration side, they worked directly with our hardware vendors to ensure the cameras and terminals communicated perfectly with their AI platform.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The most visible outcome was speed — we effectively tripled our throughput, which completely cleared up the long queues we used to have during rush hour. Financially, eliminating paper tickets closed the loop on lost revenue, giving us about a 15% uplift in collections almost immediately.

We saw rush hour wait times drop by nearly 90%, which basically eliminated the morning backup onto the main road. On average, the time to process a single bike at the gate went from about 45 seconds down to just 15 seconds.

We also noticed a positive shift in sentiment. Support tickets for things like lost passes or barrier disputes dropped by about 80% almost overnight. We also saw a 20% spike in membership sign-ups in the first quarter, which was a clear signal that users really valued the "VIP" experience of riding through without stopping.

How did Journai perform from a project management standpoint?

Journai was extremely organized and transparent. They ran the project in two-week sprints, so we always knew exactly where things stood. Despite us making some changes to the scope mid-way, they still managed to deliver the final MVP right on schedule.
