Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the CEO of Hauge Korn A/S. We facilitate commodity trades in Denmark.
For what projects/services did your company hire Jensen Technologies, and what were your goals?
Jensen Technologies have helped us with two large projects. The first project was to develop a crop trading platform for the Danish market, and the 2nd project was to improve the platform with AI algorithms and improve the overall UX.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
They were recommended to us by our previous providers that did not have the technical know-how to develop what we needed.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The web portal runs in Joomla as a custom extension to the CMS. It was initially developed and later enhanced with multiple UX centric improvements. Jensen Technologies have now taken over all aspects of our web portal including web design and development as well as hosting and maintenance.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We have worked with about 5 different team members, although the majority of communication goes directly though a project manager or the CEO.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Since launching the web portal, we have been able to more than double our turnover and number of deals we manage.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We have been working directly with a project manager or the CEO Soren. When working on large projects, we get a fixed quote and smaller issues are dealt with as they come in via sending an email to their support ticket system. Usually someone responds within hours or minutes.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They are quick to understand the tasks needed and usually suggests solutions we hadn't even though about. They delivered the project within budget and time.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Sometimes, I am having issues with sending or receiving emails. But they are very helpful and quick to respond to enquiries.

Web Dev & SEO for Moving & Storage Service Company
"After 13 years, we still have the same connection and the same quality of work."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the owner and main employee of a small removal company in Spain. It isn’t a big business, but I have 2–3 people that work with me. Potential clients do a search online for removals to and from Spain and all over Europe; my main client base is in Holland, as I am Dutch, and I have a lot of connections there in the removal business. I also go to Belgium. Before Brexit, I used to go to England quite a lot as well.
What challenge were you trying to address with Jensen Technologies?
Jensen Technologies built my website and have since helped me with SEO.
What was the scope of their involvement?
My website is the first image people have of my company, and it is quite a personal website, as I am only a small business. I present myself on the site and people get in touch with me directly, as opposed to with a big company where there is a case manager and 3–5 other people involved. My business is a highly personal thing, as house and furniture removal can be quite an emotional thing for people.
Jensen Technologies built my website 13 years ago. I have had a very long relationship with them since then, including SEO and website enhancements over the years.
At the moment, they’re developing a new website for me. Because of COVID-19 and the fact that I had a hip operation, I haven’t been that active over the last year and a half. They used to use a program called Joomla, but Soren (Owner & CEO) told me about a newer technology.
What is the team composition?
Over the years, I have become quite friendly with Soren. I’m in contact with him and also his employees depending on my requests. If I need to change text on a page, add some text, or if I have trouble with email, for instance, I send them an email.
How did you come to work with Jensen Technologies?
It was a referral. I live in a small town in Spain with a lot of foreigners —a real mixed bag from all over the world. I asked around for recommendations, and I had actually already met Soren at that time, so he explained the ins and the outs of what he could do for me. I felt very good with his personal approach and decided to give them a go. It was good price-wise, and the personal attention was great.
The relationship has worked out very well. After all these years, we have seen quite a bit of each other, and my needs have always been met.
How much have you invested in them?
I think it is around $35,000 USD in total.
What is the status of this engagement?
I started working with them around January 2009, and it is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They provide the exact management that I need. For just under $2,500 per year for 13 years I’ve tripled my business. It got to the point where I couldn’t handle the work that I was receiving myself anymore. I always tried to do it all myself, but I had to pass jobs like quoting onto other people because I was too busy. I’ve received around 15 times the return on my investment when you combine the website development and the SEO. It’s worked out very well.
How did Jensen Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
As soon as there is an issue — for example, emails not coming through correctly or changes I need to make — they are always follow-up in a short time. I’ve never had a major issue, and minor things are solved within a few days.
We mostly communicate through email, which is my preferred method, as everything is in black and white. I call them occasionally as well.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The speed with which they get back to me is the main highlight. If there is an issue, they respond quickly and give confirmation that they have received the message and that someone is on top of finding out what the issue is.
With all the dangers of hacking and spam on the internet, I have maybe one issue per year where I find out that something isn’t working properly.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There is a mutual loyalty, which often can’t be described in money when you choose a company to arrange your affairs. You look at price, but you also look for someone that you know will have your best interest at heart and isn’t just out to make a quick buck.
I myself have clients that will call me back after several years after our initial project to do another house removal for them. With Jensen Technologies, it is the same. After 13 years, we still have the same connection and the same quality of work.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Contact them and hear them out about how they think they can improve your business. If it is web-related, then they will find a solution for you.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CEO in a travel agency based in Denmark. We provide tailor made and individuel Travel bookings for clients in Denmark.
For what projects/services did your company hire Jensen Technologies?
Our website was more then 10 years old, and not very mobile-friendly in use. We needed to Update the look, the setup, the navigation, optimize seo and make the website more user friendly. We used a paid for template for the platform, and then hired the team to do all the unique coding for adjusting the layout.
How did you select Jensen Technologies and what were the deciding factors?
We were recommend to contact this team by another company that first tried to manage the task, but realised that they needed to pass on the project to more experienced team. Deciding factors was the knockledge of the team, Søren the danish manager and the price.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
It was a very long time project, and with small projects within the main project. We had our own contact person, which was very Nice. During the time of developing, they would make suggestions, coding and still explain how we could easily do some of the task ourself.
How many resources from the Jensen Technologies team worked with you, and what were their positions?
In total I would say that we worked with 3-4 members of the team. Not at the same time, but always with the possibility to discuss issues and get a honest suggestion from Søren, when something was unclear.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Much more userfriendly Specialfly on mobile.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Mostly very effective. And I liked that they also tried to learn us the skills of some coding and adjustments to de our self.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The team was professional and with a huge knowledge of almost everything that came up during the project.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Sometimes things was done a little too fast and not tested before announcing task completed. So we always had to test ourself to check and quit often it would still need some second adjustments.

Custom Features for Wine Auction Platform

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the CEO of the wine auction platform winebarrel.ch.
For what projects/services did your company hire Jensen Technologies, and what were your goals?
We hired Jensen Technologies to take over development of our auction platform, which was formerly done in house. Due to our growth, we want to focus on our core competence, which is not development. Jensen took over the custom development of existing and new features, the release planning as well as code maintenance.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We sought a competent partner in the Joomla ecosystem and found Jensen Technologies, which offers year long experience on the Joomla stack and offers a flexible approach to support us with our development needs.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We write feature specifications and user stories, which are then handed over to Jensen Technologies who'll take care of architectural decisions, resource allocation, cost estimation and implementation. The final testing is done in collaboration and Jensen Technology will make sure the features get delivered to production after we agreed it's stable and works as expected.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We're in close collaboration with our SPOC from the Jensen Technologies team, who'll work the details out with their delivery team. Using the bug tracker we can also interact with developers directly, and we sometimes also communicate with the CEO of Jensen Technologies to discuss our vision and roadmap.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Feature delivery is way faster (few weeks compared to many months) which means a better time-to-market, and we also save money since we can focus our resources on our core business while real experts write the code.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We use an agile approach using GitLab where we can collaborate on tickets/stories in a very open and collaborative style.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
We were impressed by their speed of delivery and the good quality/price ratio.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nothing particularly.

Web & Mobile App Development for Security Organization
"The Jensen Technologies team is super quick and reactive when we need to fix or change something."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a project officer at a security organization.
What challenge were you trying to address with Jensen Technologies?
We were trying to develop a digital phrasebook in two languages and two dialects.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Jensen Technologies helped us develop a language-learning platform. We had a couple of meetings discussing what we wanted to get out of the products, and we provided them with reference documents. We had a hard copy version already developed, and the designer who’d worked on that version provided the design.
The Jensen Technologies team proposed changes to the hard copy, including solutions that would work better online and some additional elements. They built a website, a web app, and a mobile app and created some interactive content for them. The mobile version is available on Android and iOS.
Some of the features that the team developed include games and quizzes. The app works like four-by-four relations and languages so that users can choose two, three, or four languages. Currently, Jensen Technologies still provides maintenance for the apps.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with 3–4 people from Jensen Technologies, including two developers and a project coordinator.
How did you come to work with Jensen Technologies?
We had an open call to which they applied and went through a selection process. Jensen Technologies came up with the best offer.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, we’ve spent between €20,000–€30,000 (approximately $22,000–$33,000 USD). The payment has been separated into three parts; the website and the apps, the interactive content, and now, they’re getting paid for the maintenance on a needs basis.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in March 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re happy with what Jensen Technologies delivers. This is the first product of its kind, and the people who use it are happy to have something like it. Although that doesn’t necessarily reflect on Jensen Technologies, the usability and friendliness of the apps, the interactive content, and the ability to monitor progress have all received good feedback.
Moreover, we’re happy with the platform’s look and performance. The Jensen Technologies team is super quick and reactive when we need to fix or change something. Overall, we’re happy with them.
How did Jensen Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
They meet all the deadlines. We had an agreed-upon timeline for development, and there was no need to remind the team because they delivered. We had some delays because we changed our requirements in the process and came up with types of interactive content that we did not originally plan. So, although there were postponements in the timelines, they weren’t because of Jensen Technologies.
We communicate regularly via emails and phone calls. During development, our communication was on a needs basis; they would approach us if they lacked clarity in terms of what we expected or needed.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Jensen Technologies is very patient even though it’s not within the mandate or the organization’s work. It’s the first time that our colleagues have worked on a product like this, and Jensen Technologies is very thorough and patient in explaining the work that goes into development and managing feedback. They’re very diligent —that stands out.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There isn’t anything they need to improve as far as I’m concerned.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice would be to be very clear about expectations.
Since launching the portal, the company doubled their turnovers and the number of deals they managed. Jensen Technologies led seamless project management by being highly responsive. They quickly understood the tasks and provided valuable solutions for the company.
