BACKGROUND

I work for a funeral services company in Mexico. We have about 100 employees. We strive to offer the best quality service at low prices to support our clients when in need.

I am the IT [information technology] manager. I am responsible for handling all technology issues and am supposed to push for new innovation. I also handle some smaller administrative duties. We hope to automate as many processes as possible through technology. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

Our goal was to reduce the paperwork and labor associated with collecting on our accounts. We thought automating this process more would save us time and cause people to visit us more and ultimately purchase more services. 

SOLUTION

The application was for Android phones to connect clients with our database. We need users to be able to fill out paperwork using their Android phones and then have the system connect to mobile printers. 

Jaguar Labs developed the application and trained our staff on how to use it properly. The platforms used were Android 4.2 with PHP MySQL.

It was very important to use that we find quality coders in Mexico. We wanted to work with an established group of coders who could also develop rapidly with a good design sense. We did some online searches and selected Jaguar Labs.

We focused on them because they were clearly Android experts. We handled the database development and the IT support in our office. The cost is confidential, [and] we finished in August of 2014.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

The project was successful. We achieved our benchmarks of time savings, cost reductions, and increasing employee productivity. Also, our employees were very happy with the new system because it streamlined their work.

Jaguar Labs performed well. We have no major complaints. They finished the project correctly and rapidly. I would recommend they try to improve their administrative and communication processes. Sometimes, it was a little difficult to communicate quickly with the right person.
