Software created in a vacuum is rarely great—
Software created in a vacuum is rarely great—great software results from constant iteration, which is why we named our company Iterators LLC. Our testers are real people working outside of the development process. We test and validate software daily for customers in the federal government, state and local governments, higher education institutions, marketing firms, the Arts, and companies working on environmental solutions to climate change. Our employees get to do what they do best in a supported environment in Boston, MA, and everywhere else.
We work on desktops, websites, mobile apps, and enterprise software daily. Currently, we work with the Library of Congress on the BARD mobile apps for Android, iOS, and Kindle. We also complete PDF remediation services to ensure those visually impaired or blind individuals can read the documents with a screen reader. We enjoy working on Accessibility testing, Sec 508, and WCAG 2,2, and all our testers are Trusted Testers, Dept of Homeland Security certified.

Iterators LLC provides cross-browser/multiple-device functionality and accessibility testing for our website and application development projects.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to have comprehensive testing and support in issue resolution.
How did you select this vendor?
I happened on an article about Iterators LLC and felt their human-forward ethos would align nicely with ours. After a vetting process and a trial project, they’ve become a trusted partner for our digital work.
Describe the project in detail.
The Iterators LLC team has tested several new web properties to date, including a nonprofit organization, a professional services firm, a consumer brand, and our own site. After a walkthrough and discussion of design and development requirements, they manually test and report issues in our code. They’ve also provided consulting on accessibility best practices.
What was the team composition?
Our team includes developers, UX and visual designers, and a project manager. We worked with the co-founders of Iterators LLC and 1–2 additional testers.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We’ve had four successful website launches, with more to come. Iterators LLC has helped ensure we deliver the best possible product for our clients. They are a delight to work with, so we look forward to future collaborations.
Beyond testing requisite functionality and accessibility, we’ve found the Iterators LLC team consistently go above and beyond, providing thoughtful insights on how we can improve our various executions. The team’s input is always clear and concise; we especially appreciate the video walkthrough snippets that help us troubleshoot issues.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They have excellent project management and proactive communications via Slack, Hangouts, phone, email, and in-person meetings. If there’s anything that requires discussion, we appreciate the team’s ability to jump on a call for further clarification. We’ve also had informal and formal project retrospectives to capture learnings.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Our relationship has been open from the beginning. The Iterators team is honest and nimble.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I can't think of any.

“Iterators is a highly specialized and talented team of people who are worth the investment.”

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder of Lobus. We have created a trusted informational digital platform for professionals in the art world.
What challenge were you trying to address with Iterators?
We hired Iterators to provide QA for our data.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Iterators cleans up data for our clients. We use this information for a variety of client-facing applications.
Our trust and estate planning tool allows family offices to appropriately assess their clients' portfolios against real-time market information. The data Iterators analyzes feeds into that process
Artists and professionals trying to understand the arts market can use our tools to see what could happen in their market sector.
Iterators is integrated in our backend system, which they navigate and use to help us make changes and enhancements as they're working through the functionality.
Our engagement has been ramping up recently and has expanded to include more work for our company going forward.
What is the team composition?
The size of the team varies depending on where we are in the cycle. We mostly work with QA testers. At the high peak, we could have the entire team from Iterators working on our project. David and Jill are closely involved.
How did you come to work with Iterators?
We found Iterators through a referral.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our partnership began in September 2018. We have a deep ongoing relationship with Iterators that continues to grow.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Iterators has helped us fully achieve our goals. A core tenet of our engagement is having complete trust and confidence in the data they supply through our company
We have conducted competence tests from our side, and their performances matches our expectations almost all the time. Currently, they're looking at market data and pricing. We ensure that the totals match up to various published sources.
A variety of outlets publish different results. We compare these more definitive tests to what Iterators comes up with, and they have proved consistently accurate.
How did Iterators perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management has been excellent. Iterators is incredibly responsive, communicative, and clear. They develop systems to put in place and document their workflow to look for improvements we can make. We have an incredible relationship with Iterators.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We've interviewed several vendors throughout the course of the last year, but we’ve never even questioned switching from Iterators. Their level of transparency with us from a project management standpoint is unmatched. We always feel very confident about where they are in the process.
Iterators is nimble and flexible enough to accommodate the flux in our workflow. The team is really honest hardworking smart and thorough people. We understand that a lot of QA work is actually not automated.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I look forward to Iterators becoming a large company with lots of resources so they can have more clients. Right now, they're building their business which means that they don't have a huge team. I feel positive they will turn into a big enterprise because they have an amazing vision and execute on it.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I advise future clients to be communicative from their company's end. If you want a generic, set, process, you wouldn't need to invest in as skilled of a team.
Iterators is a highly specialized and talented team of people who are worth the investment. Be very clear about your objectives and the scope of your project.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the CEO of Rocket Farm Studios, a mobile product development company. We help startups and enterprises develop app-based products and support backend systems.
For what projects/services did your company hire Iterators LLC?
We needed to test four different apps in 2018.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to deliver high quality to our customers in a timely fashion.
How did you select this vendor?
We originally met in person in Boston. After working with large testing organizations, we felt that Iterators was a better match for us. We started slowly, with a small project, and have since grown our relationship to the point where we work exclusively with them.
Describe the project in detail.
This is our fourth project with them. For each build, we use Iterators to manually test across devices and log issues. They develop a high-level test plan and provide an initial estimate for expected manual testing hours per release. We define the device coverage and triage bugs with them. Then, we go through our workflow.
What was the team composition?
Usually, there’s a senior tester to run the project and write test plans and a junior developer to do the manual testing. They work directly with our development team.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
All of our projects with Iterators have been successful; we’ve shipped four apps because of them this year. They work hard to make our clients successful.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They fit right in with our development team, and I have no hesitation with them interacting with our clients. They attend daily standups—if needed—and sprint planning meetings. We agree on a mutual workflow, and they’re always looking to improve our process.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They’re great to work with, responsive, friendly, and thorough. The best part is that I trust them. They provide screenshots and videos of their work and are hyper-focused on replicating their steps. It truly vexes them when they can’t.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Our cooperation has improved over the course of several projects. Iterators takes feedback well, owns up to their mistakes, and gets better all the time.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the online marketing consultant for a medical technology startup. Their website had a number of significant issues that they had ignored for a long time due to budgetary constraints. As increasing amounts of funding came in, I insisted that we prioritize strengthening the website.
For what projects/services did your company hire Iterators LLC?
We needed them to identify all of the problems with the website which included sporadic payment issues. It was built on a multisite platform which had created its own challenges. We needed help with identifying exactly what was going wrong so we could have our developers fix the issues.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to see the website operating smoothly, which would help both our UX and online rankings over time.
How did you select this vendor?
I initially met them through a colleague. After reading reviews about them and speaking directly with their CEO, I was very impressed with their approach as well as the results they were clearly achieving for their clients.
Describe the project in detail.
Our first meeting related to this project was in person. I walked Jill (Co-Founder & Managing Member, Iterators LLC) through the entire website and the issues we had noticed. She took comprehensive notes and took those back to her team. We spoke a number of times over the next two to three weeks as they put together their full assessment.
What was the team composition?
We worked with Jill directly. She communicated back and forth as needed.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our developers are still implementing the needed changes, but it's been a very smooth process and we haven't had any further payment issues.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They were excellent.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their ethics, communication, and bigger mission make them an outstanding partner. It's been an honor to work with the Iterators team.
Are there any areas for improvement?
While there’s always room for improvement, nothing specific came up during the scope of our project. I’m sure I’ll be working with them again.
