Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the IT manager at Advanced Nutrients and I run the IT department with a team of seven. Our company has been around for 21 years and sells mixes of fertilizers for cannabis.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with iTBlueprint Solutions Inc?
Before I arrived at the company, the management of the infrastructure was terrible. I had to come in around two years ago to start upgrading all of our systems, but I couldn’t do it all on my own. I hired iTBlueprint.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
iTBlueprint came in to do what we call a lift-and-shift, where they helped us physically move our 20-server infrastructure to a new location during the pandemic. I rented a truck and they did all the loading and unloading of the hardware. They also took care of the unracking, reracking, and cable installation.
Our other projects with iTBlueprint involved software management. They assisted us in transitioning our active directory from an old domain to a new one. In another instance, they helped change the internet provider for one of our warehouses and installed a firewall. This was all done remotely; we gave them access to our new VPN infrastructure while they were in Canada. We also looked to the team to help us migrate from Google to Microsoft.
Right now, they are helping us architect the backend of our active directory.
What is the team composition?
I mainly work with an account manager and a project manager, but I have interacted with over 15 people from their support team.
How did you come to work with iTBlueprint Solutions Inc?
I found them through the recommendation of a mutual connection, a consultant. We got three quotes from different service providers, but iTBlueprint came out on top. I decided to go with them and have been very happy ever since.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent probably $100,000 since the beginning of the engagement. Their prices are really competitive.
What is the status of this engagement?
We officially started working with iTBlueprint in April 2021. We’re still working with them and are currently waiting for the approval of the statement of work (SoW).
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
iTBlueprint has done a really professional job. They’ve gone above and beyond to help us with everything.
Whenever I ask them technical questions surrounding Microsoft or Google, they can supply an answer right away. Their responses are always very detailed and they have a wide range of knowledge in-house. In the instances that they can’t provide an answer, they would bring in a professional whom I can talk to.
How did iTBlueprint Solutions Inc perform from a project management standpoint?
For every project, iTBlueprint provides an SoW that contains a roadmap of what needs to be done and in how many phases. Their project manager puts together the document and is definitely always on top of it.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The knowledge that they bring to the table is impressive. They approach the project methodically and actually think with us instead of just going after our money. We feel that they are on our team and always want to provide a win-win solution.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there’s nothing that needs to be improved.
