Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of quality for auditing, risk, and compliance. I’m responsible for all the health management compliance activities for a CMS. I’m also responsible for the delivery of projects with the main focus to deliver quality in a regulated industry.
What challenge were you trying to address with IP Partner?
We needed help with the delivery of a big project for a customer.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They helped us with Java development and quality testing. I can’t disclose too much due to confidentiality with our customers. We’re trying to support activities in the COVID-19 space. They are delivering artifacts in the quality space for regulation tests, manual testing, and to deliver the documentation required.
Their Java developers are delivering the pieces of code that are required for the solution. They support the React interface using the Spinbot framework and the preparation of Unity integration tests for the functionality of the design. They’re involved in the conversion of the SQR requests into templates for backend applications within Java. They do the preparation for integration tests for the database.
What is the team composition?
They provided one software tester and two Java developers. Our main contact is the co-owner of the company.
How did you come to work with IP Partner?
I knew the owner and that he had a good team and could deliver high-quality services. We reconnected after several years, and I’m happy to have chosen them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in June 2020, and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The project is straightforward. Delivering on time is the most important metric, and they do that. We know what to expect because of the planning sessions. From that perspective, it’s easy to monitor if we’re on track or what the progress or KPIs are. Right now, we’re on track and will be able to deliver everything required for the project to progress.
How did IP Partner perform from a project management standpoint?
We work in an agile methodology. It’s constant development divided into scrum iterations. They’re responsible for delivering the code of the software product according to the planning sessions.
Project management tools weren’t required because they’re part of our internal team. We’re working from home due to COVID-19. All the documents and agreements are paperless. The communication with developers and testers is great because it helps us to better manage the team during the daily meetings we have every morning. Each tester and developer tell us what progress they’ve made and what the plan for that day is. The communication is great. We use email and Microsoft Teams.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re very committed to delivering high-quality products. They’re flexible. They have good communication skills. They’re experts. It’s nice working with someone who knows how to work effectively.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t have any recommendations for where they could improve. They work according to our expectations.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I recommend working with them. They’re a strong partner that you can rely on.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner and manager of Liki Mobile Solutions. We’re a software house.
What challenge were you trying to address with IP Partner?
We collaborate with different software houses, and we’ve leveraged IP Partner’s developers to build software for our clients.
What was the scope of their involvement?
One of the projects we’ve run with them was the development of a tool for measuring employees’ stress and performance levels. The technology used was a Java Spring framework.
What is the team composition?
We used one backend and two full-stack developers from IP Partner.
How much have you invested with them?
The cost of their work was around $80,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with IP Partner in the spring of 2016 and finished in late 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re not a very big organization, but we have 50 in-house developers and quite a few partners. We ask for 360-degree feedback from colleagues, managers, and clients about the projects we finish, and this is very important for the future. Software development requires not only programming but also collaboration skills. We use this information when we build new project teams for our clients.
We usually have developers working in our same office, so I was apprehensive about a remote collaboration. I was surprised to have a very good collaboration with IP Partner. They concentrated not only on development but also on communication. Working remotely, they knew that they had to work more on communication and the integration with the project team. They delivered the project on time and within the expected budget, and the client was happy with the quality of our work.
How did IP Partner perform from a project management standpoint?
We collaborated remotely with their developers using GitHub, Nexus Repository, and Jira. We use Redmine internally for collecting information and feedback about projects. We had daily scrum meetings.
We could see that there was a lot of activity from managers and team members in terms of communication and solving problems. They delivered very good documentation and finished all tasks within schedule. We also had very good communication during status meetings and standups, including with the developers themselves. There were no conflicts; they concentrated on the problem and not on the people.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I wasn’t a team member in this project, but, in my point of view, transparency is what made IP Partner stand out. This is very important in business collaborations. If there was a problem, we knew about it before the client and we solved everything very quickly. I haven’t seen this level of transparency in other collaborations between software houses, and it had a very good effect on our project.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, not that I saw.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
IP Partner is a good company with really high quality, and we’d definitely recommend them. They’re not the most affordable, but they’re also not very expensive. Most importantly, they deliver good quality work and have good communication. That’s very important when working remotely.
