Ecovative - Docu Founder Story

We created a short docu-style founder Story for Ecovative as well as several corporate videos to help explain the value and process behind their mushroom packaging technology.

The film was a Top Finalist in the GE Focus Forward Film festival and appeared on various cinema screens across North America.

The videos were used both for educational purposes as well as to secure new leads for their clients and

partnerships.

Richtree Pork Tacos - Branded Content

We partnered with Springwater to help Richtree create several branded content "How To" videos for social.

This allowed them to begin building an online audience as well helped bring customers to their restaurants.

The videos were re-used in a multitude of ways including, short vignettes for inside the restaurants; supporting core themes of fresh, hand-made and quality foods.

AutoFi asked us to create a series of entertaining videos to introduce their car purchasing platform to prospective clients and partners.

Since they were out of San Fransisco, working with a Canadian company remotely allowed them to push their production dollars further. All of our meetings were held via live chat and they were kept involved throughout the entire production pipeline.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are a small startup with a social curation platform. I am the co-founder and CEO.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Intangible?

We had an idea of what we wanted our customers to do when they visited the platform, and we needed to explain that idea in a short amount of time. We hired Intangible to produce an onboarding video.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We brought our ideas to them of what the process should be, and they held our hands through each step. They produced a professional-looking video that still incorporated humor and amazing visuals. Our voice comes through clearly, and the video accomplishes everything we hoped to achieve from a business standpoint.

They wrote out the script, which we approved, then they tackled the visual aspects. There was a full day of shooting, followed by graphic additions to the footage. The final product is brilliant, with a running time of just under three minutes.

My primary contact was the founder of their company.

How did you come to work with Intangible?

One of my co-founders worked with them before and liked their work. We considered a few companies, but a video they produced for another campaign aligned perfectly with our vision. We felt they’d be a good fit and decided to hire them.

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost was around $15,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together in 2015; I don’t remember the exact month. The whole project was completed in a matter of weeks.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to the video they created, we saw an increase in every key metric we targeted. There was a 67% increase in conversion rates, plus improvements to signups through the site, and boosts to both site traffic and average length of visit. The video helps explain our whole platform and its features, and offers good information about our value proposition.

How did Intangible perform from a project management standpoint?

Everyone on their team was easygoing, polite, and knowledgeable, and their process was streamlined and effective. We never had to wait for them, and we always knew what was happening in any given moment. They provided drafts and confirmed each step with us. Throughout the timeline, they were always in control, but we maintained a two-way conversation and had full agency to make changes. That allowed us to take ownership of the entire process and get excited about the final product.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I really enjoyed their professionalism throughout the process and the great end result they produced. Everything was well-structured and controlled, and they did a phenomenal job. We never had any problems with their service or the deliverable.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They were so flexible, and I don’t have any recommendations for improvements. Any issues we encountered were usually due to personal design preference, but they always made the changes we wanted.

We had a general vision of what we wanted but lacked a script and fleshed-out specifications. Intangible helped us write the script, build the storyboard, and then animate and produce the video. We worked closely with their team to provide assets as needed and give feedback at critical stages. Several feedback stages took place to ensure the final product came out perfectly.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

We worked with a director, an animator, and the voice over talent.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Intangible’s videos are an integral part of communicating our value to customers. Every dealership that partners with us uses the videos on their website to promote our process. Many dealers have even become inspired to create more marketing material to build upon the videos’ success.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had clear communication throughout the project. I consistently felt on top of what was going on and what we still need to do. We worked closely with the director to establish milestones for feedback. I felt particularly satisfied with the feedback process.

Intangible came highly recommended through a colleague. After looking at their projects and speaking with their head, we know they would be a great fit.

Intangible took a bottom-up approach. They familiarized themselves with every detail of our business, process, and vision, as well as our clients’ and partners’ needs. They created a detailed scope of work, which provided us with work-back dates and touchpoints, and scheduled their shoot dates within our chaotic schedule. During the shoot, they made everyone feel welcome and did a fantastic job at disarming some of our more camera-shy associates. They asked for feedback and kept us involved the entire time.

We had a single point of contact for all our needs. They provided us with ample opportunity to give feedback and kept us updated on their progress throughout the project. They turned our feedback around quickly and made any adjustments we required, offering us several versions to choose from.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The video helped our partners and clients gain insights into the incredible talent and knowledge behind our success. People compliment us on our work and passion, which the video conveys. We’ve also shared the video with outside audiences to spark interest in our process and methodology, as well as to help clients and leads better understand how science and business can go together. Since then, we’ve started to work with Intangible to create an onboarding documentary series for new associates.

We worked directly with the founder. He made the process extremely easy and satisfying. Because they got to know our business so well, we never felt like we had to translate our science.
