Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm a sales director at FlavourTech. We’re a food manufacturer and we have multiple plants and regional offices across several countries.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with innovAgile?

We're certified by British Retail Consortium, so we have a lot of requirements in terms of paperwork and employee organization. We wanted all of our plants to be able to communicate to one another regarding basic food, safety, and organizational requirements. We needed a company to help us build a Cloud-based system.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We've been working on this project for four months. They're using SAP to develop a Cloud-based system that is hosted on AWS (Amazon Web Services).

What is the team composition?

I work with their owner who has a team underneath him.

How did you come to work with them?

I tried them out on a few smaller projects for the CRM. I liked the quality of their work and their responsiveness, so we started building our Cloud-based system, but on a modular level.  

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in May 2018 and the relationship is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The CRM they built automates the process that used to take 45 minutes. Now, it takes 30 seconds, so we can work more efficiently.

How did they perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate through chat and use a project management tool where I can list bugs and see the progress. They're very organized and responsive, staying on schedule most of the time. The process is taking a bit longer than I had expected, but they do their best to catch up.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They understand our needs and always try to meet them. They're very professional and willing to take a longer way if that is what we need, instead of looking for shortcuts.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their design could be a bit better. Their final product works perfectly, but it looks a bit rough. However, I can't judge until the product is finished.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They're very flexible. When we started the project, we didn't know the full scope of work or whether we would find bugs. They're willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish our goals, even when it means putting in extra work. I enjoy working with them on both personal and professional levels.

I'm with a partner marketing firm that connects large advertisers in sectors such as travel, retail, and finance with their key affiliate marketing partners. We operate globally and typically work with Fortune 500 companies.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with innovAgile?

We wanted to expand our software development capacity and had difficulty recruiting locally.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They provide software developers for multiple projects that are part of our core product offering. We have an API-first platform, and most of their work involves adding new features based on our client’s needs. This includes onboarding, signup configuration, and commission setting. They essentially work across the full stack, creating API endpoints to deliver web application functionalities for our clients.

Our primary programming language is PHP. They've worked with the Kohana framework and also with Clean architecture. They've worked with MySQL, as well as JavaScript where we used React as the primary framework.

What is the team composition?

They supply one scrum team to us which varies in size depending on our needs. We’ve worked with as few as four and as many as eight developers at a time.

How did you come to work with innovAgile?

I knew their CEO and owner from a previous business, so he reached out to me to ask if we required services. When the need arose, I contacted him along with two or three other companies and we ended up choosing them for the work.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in 2016 and our work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their code has to adhere to our strict standards. We have QA resources that provide regressions testing around their code and we always find it to be high-quality. We rely on standard Agile velocity to measure both the quality and quantity of their output.

How did innovAgile perform from a project management standpoint?

They use Agile methodology, so we have daily standups. Communication is excellent, as they work through Slack and Jira, our preferred platforms. We’re also able to monitor their progress on a day-to-day basis.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They've supplied high-quality technical resources.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Every growing business has room for improvement. We’ve worked with innovAgile since they were just starting out and we’ve watched them improve over time. Our development managers raise any concerns during our weekly check-ins.
