BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the executive director of a civic and social organization. We are working to help reduce drunk driving occurrences.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with INGENO?
We had an outdated computer system, not a web app, that worked locally. It had been developed internally. However, it was no longer functional, and we needed a capable vendor to develop a system to work.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Once they understood the scope of what we needed, they advised us on how to proceed. They developed a web system, working in JAVAWEB. The system helps us provide volunteers to give rides to individuals who have been drinking. They were able to work fast, as we needed something working in a short timeframe.
What is the team composition?
Initially, Remy (Founder & CEO) handled the project. As it grew, he put a project manager and a team in place.
How did you come to work with INGENO?
I wasn’t the director when INGENO was hired. The organization had decided to work with a web app to be more agile.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $300,000 CAD (approximately $200,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working together in March 2013, and work is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
In the beginning, there were 12 organizations working on the system. After two years, there were 50-60 organizations using the system. It is efficient and user friendly. The organizations can try it out to see if they want to use it, and due to the ease of use, it is a quick transition. Dispatch is faster. We will be spreading into another province with the system, as well.
How did Ingeno perform from a project management standpoint?
The team works from home on the mobile app. They accept calls and are linked with the system.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They are partners, not just service providers. They understand our goal, believe in it, and put forth the needed effort to make the app work. They’re available, day or night, to provide support.
Are there any areas they could improve?
When we changed project managers, we had to give them a lot of data to catch up on the project. It would’ve been better if they’d already been updated so as not to require so much energy from us.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have a clear strategic plan for your wants and needs. INGENO wants to help and will work with you to achieve your goals.
