I’m the head of IT at Baghlaf Al Zafer Company Limited, and we’re in the metal industry in the UAE.

We were in the process of restructuring our website and our IT infrastructure, so we needed InfoRox's help.

We wanted to have a simple website developed for our customers. InfoRox also performed website optimization. Then, the team managed our IT security, which involved strengthening the company's firewalls. Moreover, they spearheaded our SEO efforts.
How did you come to work with InfoRox?
My friend referred them to me. We considered three other companies, but we chose InfoRox in the end because of their reputation for completing their work within the given timeframe. They also have the expertise which we required in our company.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with InfoRox from January 2019–October 2020. We’re not working with them anymore, but whenever something comes up, we contact them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They did everything we wanted and I’m glad we chose InfoRox. Before developing the website, our site traffic was very low, but with InfoRox's work, the number of our clients increased. That also helped us build our customer database.
How did InfoRox perform from a project management standpoint?
They were very cooperative, and most of the time, they completed their tasks on schedule. Some projects required us to have weekly meetings, and other projects required us to meet every two days. Overall, they were always available when I called them.

I work in London Business School as a senior technical manager.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with InfoRox?
We sent out an impact measurement survey, and all of our clients, stakeholders, and customers who used the supplier profiling system, demonstrated how difficult it was to search for a supplier from the spreadsheet.
As a result, we hired InfoRox to build and implement a system for supplier profiling. When the GDPR came in place, we talked about having a system that we could utilize for supplier profiling, rather than having a spreadsheet.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
InfoRox designed and developed a supplier profiling system for our company. In the beginning, they sent us the quotation for the project after we sent them our proposal. Afterwhich, a system analyst from their team came to us and took all of the requirements to produce a proposal of their own. Their proposal contained information on how the system was going to look and work — they even provided us with screenshots.
After we finalized and signed off on all the designs, they started the development of the system. They used PHP and Laravel for the framework and showed us a demonstration on their server. When they finished the development phase, we proceeded to do the testing.
After conducting some tests of their own, InfoRox found some bugs in the systems, which they were able to fix. They successfully deployed the system on our server after.
What is the team composition?
We worked with a developer, a system analyst, and the director.
How did you come to work with Inforox?
We approached three different suppliers for this issue that we were facing with the help of Google. We decided to go with InfoRox because they gave us a very good price.
How much have you invested with them?
Altogether, we invested around $25,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The development of the system lasted from December 2016–October 2018. It took some time because the person leading the development from our side left, so I had to appoint someone else from my team —which took me about seven months.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Inforox was able to develop a new sensible system in place. As a result, the company's stakeholders could easily search for the name of the supplier, the service they’re providing, and the program they’re engaged with.
The feedback from the stakeholders was really good, and the return on investment (ROI) was great. We're still using the system and we’re planning to enhance it next year once we get the money, and once the pandemic goes away.
How did Inforox perform from a project management standpoint?
The director of Inforox was very good at communicating and keeping us up to date every week. During the design and testing phases, we communicated two days a week on either Skype or Zoom. The developers were heavily involved in the project, resolving issues quickly and providing us with the best support possible.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were very professional and their response time was really good. The only time there was trouble was when the system analyst left, and the director had to appoint another person. We were off track for about a month, but other than that, we never found any problems with Inforox.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The situation with the person who left Inforox wasn’t communicated to us at all. We already gave them this feedback and decided that moving forward, they should tell us if there are changes that would affect our project. They took that into consideration when we did the next project.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice would be to give them the exact requirements you need from them. A graphical representation could help when you’re giving them the requirements. This will reduce how much communication you will have with Inforox. This is what we did for our first project and their response time was quick — they really did their best to deliver quickly.
When you provide Inforox with clear and detailed requirements, they will produce good results for you.
