Indesign sets up monthly calendars for me. To communicate, we use Zoom; they also travel here once per month.

The Indesign team has been truly responsive. They know what they’re doing, and working with them has been easy. Moreover, their resources are highly creative — I don’t have to look after or worry about my social media channels. As a result, I can focus more of my time on my store.

We started our magazine in 2019, and we did a good job ourselves for two years. However, we had some problems and decided to take a break for a year. When we restarted the project, we sought help from a partner who could design our magazine.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Indesign Elements designs my magazine — they’re involved from beginning to end. Our magazine typically has 200–250 pages, and it is published at the beginning of each month. Thus, Indesign Elements’ involvement is continuous and includes defining the size of articles, planning the layouts, and creating the designs; it is a month-long process.

I work with four people from Indesign Elements, who are constantly involved in the project. They’re all senior-level people.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Indesign Elements’ work has definitely had an impact on my business. Before working with them, I had another designer, but I didn’t like their work as much. Additionally, working with Indesign Elements, I don’t have to be behind their back constantly guiding them; I just tell them something once, and they get it done. Their independence allows me to spend more time on other tasks, which ultimately results in a more profitable business.

How did Indesign Elements perform from a project management standpoint?

Indesign Elements’ project management is very good, and they’re very timely. Sometimes, I deliver things from my end late, and they still get their work done on time. We have Zoom meetings when required, and we communicate through a WhatsApp group we created. Additionally, I can call them whenever I need them. Overall, they’re very responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Communicating with Indesign Elements is very easy, and they’re very considerate in their pricing, especially with the post-pandemic situation. Furthermore, their team is very creative, and their work is very good — I love their work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything that Indesign Elements could improve on. However, we’ve only been working together for two months. If I see any improvement needed, I will let them know.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Indesign Elements provided social media marketing and SEO services. We initially gave them the target audience and keywords. For social media marketing, they focused on Facebook and Instagram. We guided them on what we needed from the posts, and they came up with the ideas. They delivered 3–4 posts in a week and submitted the posts for approval. First, I’d check them, and then they’d post them. Also, they handled the backend of the website.

I’m the founder of a startup called Khelo Sports, an aggregator for all sports facilities and grounds. Most sporting facilities in India are run offline, so people have to book venues via phone calls. Our company is trying to digitize that whole ecosystem so that people can find all venues by location or by trainers, and customers can book them online.

What challenge were you trying to address with Indesign Elements?

We hired them for UI/UX design.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Indesign Elements designed the UI/UX of our app. My main requirement was for booking sports facilities to be as simple as possible. Most sports apps in India have a light green color scheme, and I didn’t want that, so I requested a more vibrant color scheme. The team used Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop for the UI, and they sent me links on Figma to see progress. On top of that, I came to them with a rough logo design, and they helped me update it. 

What is the team composition?

My main point of contact was a design manager. Apart from them, I worked with three people. 

How did you come to work with Indesign Elements?

When I worked at a previous company, my managers were the people who started Indesign Elements, so I already knew how they worked. Choosing them was easy because I had a personal connection with them, so I knew I could come into the office whenever I wanted. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $1 million Indian rupees (approximately $13,000 USD).

We worked together from September–December 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I was really happy with the quality of Indesign Elements’ UI/UX design. I also appreciated how much I was able to be involved in the process. We only had an issue with the timeline; I expected the project to be finished in November, and it took a little longer than that. Apart from that, everything was great. I’ve given the design to the development team, and they haven’t had any overlap problems, so development is going smoothly. 

How did Indesign Elements perform from a project management standpoint?

Their communication was always transparent. For example, they informed me about schedule delays. We communicated through phone calls, though I preferred interacting with them, seeing what was happening, and giving my input. Usually, I would call them in the morning and go to their office in the evening. 

The timeline was extended by 15–20 days. This was due to some issues on my end as well, and they were pretty receptive to that. Overall, we had a good experience and didn’t face too many problems. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with Indesign Elements’ transparency. I’m having trouble with my development team because I can’t connect with them as easily. With Indesign Elements, having a previous connection was really helpful because I could easily express whatever I wanted to say. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve their time management. However, they had more workload and didn’t have as many designers because they’re also a startup. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Tell Indesgin Elements exactly what you want and how you want to work, and I’m sure they’ll be flexible. Even if they weren’t, they would tell you — they don’t hold anything back upfront.

We were trying to promote our website and SEO services to bring in more customers and clients.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They redesigned and redeveloped our website. We had a bunch of requests, as we have a lot of people using the site. These included different tabs, pull-downs, videos, and language.

In terms of SEO, they do some Facebook work for us, as well as help with campaigns on LinkedIn and Instagram. The work here is organic, helping us make posts.

I’ve worked with 4–5 people, spanning the head of the company to content writers.

How did you come to work with Indesign Elements?

A friend of mine recommended them as someone that was good to work with. After giving them a small piece of work, I expanded and expanded their Scope. They were one of the best companies I’d seen in a long time.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since January 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our revenue has gone up as we’ve received more leads from clients and candidates. A lot of these leads are coming right from the website or our social media platforms. We’ve doubled our revenue from 2020.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was bit worried by their smaller size in the beginning, but my company is also small, and I believe in the nimble atmosphere of small business. They’ve rocked the project for us. Their size enables them to be more closely pointed to us and our needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The time difference has been a bit wonky at times, but they’ve figured it out.

PlayCKC is a live sports gaming company and I'm one of the co-founders.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Indesign Elements?

We hired IDE for the UI and UX design for our mobile app screens. The app hosted two live cricket games - live predictions and fantasy cricket. Screens designed by IDE were part of the first launch of our app and continue to be so. They also designed our logo.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We gave a small pilot project to 4-5 vendors and based on the output, the team's background and their past work, we gave the contract to IDE.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

After the pilot project, we had a meeting with IDE team and took them through the philosophy of PlayCKC (we launched around the same time) and shared the product documents of the games we were planning to build. The team then started building our logo and after 3-4 iterations, we finalized the same.

Following this, we started on our live predictions game and the game development at our end happened alongside. This project took 3-4 months. After this, we had a detailed product-related discussion for our second game (fantasy cricket).

Since both the games were to be hosted on the same app, we discussed the colors, the game logos, and finally the screens. The IDE team developed this in 4-5 months. The fantasy cricket game was initially launched as a free-to-play game and when we decided to take it to real-money gaming mode, IDE provided us with the additional screens too.

My team directly worked with the UI/UX designers and a project manager.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The screens designed by IDE were directly used by us in our mobile app. One of the important requirements was to keep things simple as this game was created for the masses. In that respect, IDE largely delivered (we had some rounds of iterations).

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The project manager, Mustafa, was a pleasure to work with. He diligently understood the product and requirements, took feedback in the right spirit and communicated clearly. That way, we reduced the number of iterations.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were patient and persistent.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

While the quality of their work was adequate for us as an early-stage startup, they should skill-up to fulfil the needs of a slightly later stage startup (as we have now become). They need to find more creativity to generate an "Aha" moment.

We approached InDesign Elements when we were at an infant stage, originally just for our website designing, however, were so impressed by their thorough work and structural presentation, we gave them the task to design and structure our entire Branding, along with our website and launch us on social media as well for 3-4months.

Right from designing our brand logo, to understanding our tastes and preferences for the same, to choosing our brand color scheme and fonts. The entire project of Branding took around 4-6 months roughly. Post this they helped design our website from sratch and arranged the relevant vendors for our packaging and photoshoot. Once our launch, they handled our social media page for a good 4 months.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

InDesign Elements played an important role in the growth and launch of Vedic Nuts. Our websites have pulled in major clients and investors and our branding speaks for their work.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The project manager was accessible at all times and easily approachable. They put in the extra effort and time which made the entire process easy flowing. However, one drawback would definitely be that they did take some time to deliver, however, the work showed the efforts and was worth the timelines.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their capability to understand the client's needs and personal attention they provide to each project were impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Their timelines definitely need to be monitored as they do tend to delay on the same. I personally felt that they were so passionate about delivering excellent results, they ended up delaying the provided timelines.

After extending our brand language, I needed some collateral from them using our brand guidelines. They delivered envelopes, cover letters, and business cards for our brand. We also needed an e-commerce website, which they also developed. We didn’t have a website before this.

The team also did the UX/UI and set up my G-suite. They do our SEO and keyword research to optimize our website. They also created a pitch deck for when we approach clients and send them proposals. I continue collaborating with them on a few other projects.
