The Problem

Ardan Medspa and Salon was purchased by new ownership, and one of their first initiatives was to rebrand the existing website to match the look and feel of the salon, which features many white and gold colors and is situated in a wealthy Boston suburb. They tasked Incline Marketing to accomplish this. The current

website was content-thin, with a picture of the storefront on the homepage and nothing else. The appointment system was not intuitive and required multiple emails between the customer and receptionist to schedule. Service pages lacked description and focused on products used instead of the Ardan experience. Overall, the website felt dark, difficult to use, and not "beautiful". The Solution

Incline Marketing conducted a full website redesign using a color scheme that matched the environment of Ardan. Using a fashionable header video and model photography, the new Ardan website showcased an atmosphere of a true luxury brand. By implementing a new online booking software on request of Incline Marketing, the appointment scheduling bottle neck issue was resolved. The new software included intuitive scheduling, text and email appointment reminders, and realistic time frames that were desired by consumers. All of the content on the site was rewritten to match the style of Ardan and communicate more effectively. Over 10,000 words of new, unique content were added to the home, service, and about pages.

The Results

Based on Incline Marketing’s approach, Ardan Medspa + Salon experienced superior results, although previous data for comparison is unavailable. Bounce rate for the new website sat at 47% one month post-launch, with an average time on site of over 1 minute. Overall, the look and feel of the website drastically improved, and the navigation for users became much easier. The Results

During the first five months of 2019, Incline Marketing delivered a total of 175 phone call leads (greater than 60 seconds in length), and 177 online form submissions. Incline is extremely diligent in distinguishing between phone call conversions and online form leads so as to remove any chance of double counting booked jobs. As such, the groups of phone call leads and online form submission leads are mutually exclusive.

Insight Pest Control was a very successful door-to-door sales company that had little in the way of online presence. Although their 4 Google My Business listings had hundreds of legitimate 5-star reviews, their listings were not ranking in the Map Pack in search results for popular keywords. Thus, Insight Pest was rarely receiving phone calls or online

leads from their minimal digital marketing efforts. Due to their seasonal business (pest control demand in their area really peaks in the summer months), Incline Marketing was tasked with improving Insight Pest's rankings in time for their demand spike to provide maximum value for the client. The Solution

Incline Marketing began with a custom site rebuild that was separate from the corporate-controlled site. This new site featured over 15,000 words of new, SEO-optimized content and a site structure that was supportive of multiple locations and Google My Business listings. After the site was complete, Incline Marketing scanned and fixed business listings across the web for all locations, as well as acquired local backlinks for each individual location. Sitewide and location-specific schema were implemented on each website page, and backlink efforts continued over the course of several months. The Problem

Cedars Housing was facing a challenging environment when trying to target local university students. Previous digital marketing efforts provided average results, which were not enough to consistently fill the available rooms with tenants for upcoming semesters. Incline Marketing performed an audit of the existing site and concluded that the 3rd-party online application process which Cedars

used was too lengthy and did not capture potential tenants information until near completion. Because of this bottle neck, Cedars was losing out on information for potential leads at an efficient rate. In addition, the website was bland, which did not match the look and feel of the actual apartments. This could have been effecting the bounce rate of students who were not in the immediate area to schedule a tour, or new students who were unfamiliar with available living options.

The Solution

Incline Marketing conducted a full website redesign using a color scheme that matched the environment of the housing complex. Using fresh photography and iconography, the new Cedars website felt like a student housing complex a prospective freshman would want to live at. Using behavior flow tracking, Incline Marketing was able to address the application bottle neck issue by implementing a form fill-out instead of a button to get to the application. Much of the content on the site was rewritten to match the style of college students and communicate more effectively.

The Results

Based on Incline Marketing’s approach, Cedars Housing experienced superior results. Conversion rate optimization changes lead to a 300%+ increase in leads received without an increase in traffic to the site. Bounce rate on direct traffic decreased 15.24% in one month post-redesign. Most importantly, Cedars is projecting to 100% fill both men's and women's complexes for the Fall 2019 semester.

We spend over $2,000 per month. I think that adds up to between $25,000–$50,000 in total.

We started working together in April 2019. I’d want to bring in a full-time marketing manager down the road, but Incline Marketing isn’t going anywhere for the time being unless something drastically changes.

We have a Google Guaranteed rating because our business has close to 750 reviews on Google with a 4.9-star average. With email campaigns, it’s cost-efficient and gets a killer ROI. Our metrics change every time so it’s hard to sum it up. 

When COVID-19 hit our business, I was spending $16,000–$17,000 a month on marketing. I was able to turn a profit despite the revenue drop by stopping everything except for the work we did with Incline Marketing. I’ve always gotten the best ROI from my spend with Incline Marketing compared to anyone else. 

How did Incline Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very fast and work hard. They always hit timelines and can scale their team very fast. They’ve even flown down to visit me in person sometimes. I look forward to talking to Drew every week. He’ll suggest ideas for me and tell me when I should or shouldn’t do something. We have a trusting relationship as a result. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

What makes Incline Marketing an incredible company is that they have integrity. They care about the outcomes and treat my business like their own. 

One time that really stood out to me was when I asked to do Google Ads during a slow time. They agreed, but within three days, CJ called me to say he shut it down because it wasn’t working. That’s how it should be in marketing. I can expect them to be transparent and honest, which is the primary value of what they do and why they’ll be successful.

They managed PPC and SEO work for us. They started by taking charge of our Google account and revamping our website. After some time, they expanded to running ads on YouTube and Facebook. 

They’re now taking care of our email marketing and mailings. They’re using all mediums to connect with the customer. We’ve tried a number of different strategies with them. The team also does data retrieval, sifting, and filtering. 

How much have you invested in them?

We spend around $100,000 per year. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in April 2018, and we’re still working with them. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Before we started working with them, we were ranking in the 60s for search results in the Bay Area, and in the 40s for San Diego. Now, we’re consistently ranking within the top four search results. We started to see results pretty quickly with them as well. 

They’ve also provided us with a lot of data to help us figure out what our customers want. Now that we understand our customers more, it’s easier to market ourselves. 

When we started working with them, the cost per conversion was around $150. In 2019, the cost per conversion was $73.55 in San Diego and $58.70 in the Bay Area. We’ve reduced the cost of our ad spend as a result of shifting to more digital marketing. 

How did Incline Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

We typically communicate with them via phone and email. We also use video conferencing services like Skype and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

When they want to try new strategies, they don’t charge us until they know that it works. They’ve built their business around the idea that they’re constantly changing to adapt to what Google wants to see. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

One thing I’ve discussed with them is their scaling. They do things well, but I was worried about them growing too quickly. However, they’ve done a great job overcoming that.
