Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of B2B Energy, an independent energy consultancy company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Impact Media?
We provide a global energy management service, allowing us to engage with experts around the world. My aim is to bring energy experts together to share knowledge and experiences.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They developed a web system made up of three websites. We’ve expanded the original website to incorporate insights. We're sharing knowledge through articles, case studies, and videos. The site also incorporates access to my book regarding energy management. It also provides access to my podcast. That centralization was phase one of the project.
In phase two, we're enabling people around the world to search for energy experts. I’m bringing all the energy experts through a subscription process where they can join our database to find energy experts around the world. Within the database, there are energy experts and technology service providers looking for opportunities in energy management.
The development from phase three will allow us to provide training. People can subscribe to the training and learn how to be an energy expert through the training platform.
Our requirements weren't clear and concise to start. Their team worked with us through the conceptualization journey through to delivering the web-based solution. We’re looking into doing additional phases regarding tools and scorecards. Most of the website is built on WordPress.
What is the team composition?
There were four people. Martin (Technical Director) and James (Digital Consultant) were the two main points of contact. Crystal (Account Manager) focuses on project management.
How did you come to work with Impact Media?
We've worked together for many years. They created a very streamlined website back in 2018 that fit the purpose regarding B2B energy. We reengaged them last year for this project.
How much have you invested with them?
We've spent about $21,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started collaborating in September 2020, and the work is ongoing. Phase one was completed in mid-October 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We couldn't have done this without them. They acted as a guide to direct our project, and their work is second to none. The quality is good, and all requirements are met effectively in the first iteration. Clients and stakeholders anecdotally appreciate the site. We’re also able to make changes to the site on our own.
How did Impact Media perform from a project management standpoint?
We use GoToMeeting every week as well as Zoom and phone calls. They're strong communicators.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have vast technical capabilities and always find a solution. The way they go about graphic design, they're sure to find strong solutions.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We hit some barriers that aren’t their fault. They could improve a bit with the timing of their deliverables, but I’m really happy with everything they do.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have small plans but let them come up with the bigger ideas.

For what projects/services did your company hire Impact Media?
Driven initially by slow website speeds impacting our web traffic and potentially our brand, we engaged with Impact to improve this and to look after our websites on an ongoing basis.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to cut load times and downtime.
How did you select Impact Media?
We researched providers with expertise in the CMS we used, and interviewed four. Impact provided the best guidance throughout the process, with flexibility to accommodate the varied range of sites we operate.
Describe the project in detail.
The initial phase was focussed on safe migration and reduction of load times, followed by moving on to ongoing day to day management of the server and plugins. Impact provide weekly reporting on key metrics such as load times and downtime.
What was the team composition?
We worked with tech and account management, who operate well as a very functional team with great proactive communication and realistic expectation setting.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Load times and downtime were both reduced. We are now confident that issues will be identified before they become critical. When problems do occur, we know that they will be resolved quickly.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Expectations were managed effectively, and any actions clearly stated. Our input was minimised as much as possible (as was our desire) and this ensured that things worked smoothly.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their proactive communication, flexibility, and pragmatic approach to getting things done have been amazing.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We had a little glitch where google analytics was not operating correctly and this wasn't spotted until we mentioned it, but otherwise all good.

We’re a fintech startup, and I’m the CMO.
What challenge were you trying to address with Impact Media?
We hired them for a frontend of a marketing website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They were responsible for building out the frontend of our website that’s built on Wordpress. We’d already done the backend work, so they needed to tie their work into our existing framework. After creating wireframes and screens that I approved, they built it all. They made wireframes of click-throughs and implemented pricing tables that aligned with our payment plans.
At the close of the project, they also provided some SEO services and tracked our engagement metrics on Google Analytics.
What is the team composition?
My main point of contact was James (Digital Consultant). However, I also worked with Martin (Technical Director) for analytics, Crystal (Account Manager), and a frontend developer.

I was searching for a partner, and they were recommended by someone I knew.

We spent about $6,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in November 2019, and our collaboration is ongoing. Much of the work is being done by the developers now.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They created the MVP frontend website that we were able to drive traffic to organically. We had over 60 test cases, allowing us to validate the concept. That’s led to us investing in our app further and get on an accelerator. Their work opened up many doors for investment, which is exactly what it needed to do.
How did Impact Media perform from a project management standpoint?
I really enjoy working with James, and I’d give them a glowing testimonial for project management.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their knowledge of WordPress went above and beyond our needs, and they still achieved everything quickly. In everything from brainstorming to wireframing, they felt like part of the team. Their enthusiasm and ability to make ideas achievable is fantastic.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They do what they do very well. If they offered other marketing services, I’d be hiring them for those as well.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
It was very valuable to conduct a scoping session with them. That ensures they have all the information they need to deliver.
