I’m the former managing director of a startup that develops alternative energy sources.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Immersion?

We needed help with branding and putting a pitch deck together for funding. We also needed help designing and developing 3D renderings and prototypes.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Immersion was involved in every step of our branding process from beginning to end. First, we gave them concepts for our technology, including generators, wind turbines, windmill systems, backup power systems, and solar power systems. We also gave them visuals of our technology and explained our goals for how we wanted each prototype to look. The Immersion team was responsible for everything; they created investor profiles and worked with engineers from our partner companies. 

They started with the generator system, which they developed a color scheme for and helped us name. After creating the preliminary branding, they designed and developed a prototype for the generator. Then, they developed prototypes for our alternative wind and solar power systems. They created 3D renderings, models for each system, and a pitch deck for our presentations. They also helped us with trademarking and made the final logo and website. 

We didn’t reach the level of capital we needed to deploy online marketing. However, the Immersion team created flow charts, schematics, and an internal control system to enable us to launch online.

How did you come to work with Immersion? 

I found Immersion through a referral. 

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around $50,000 in the partnership with Immersion. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Immersion from January 2020–July 2022. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

In today’s world, we’re judged on our pitch decks and branding, and Immersion delivered fantastic results. They did a great job with the branding, and everyone who saw our website was impressed. Their strong visuals and engaging pitch decks gave us credibility and increased our brand awareness. 

Our increased brand awareness generated interest from major national companies who wanted to work with us. We had no capital or technology, but Immersion’s branding efforts got us in the door. We would never have been able to engage in conversations with such notable brands without their help. I learned invaluable lessons from them; the partnership was the best money we ever spent. 

Although we ended up walking away from our company due to challenges with scaling and capital, we plan to continue working with Immersion on other initiatives. Working with another branding partner is not an option. 

How did Immersion perform from a project management standpoint?

Immersion was a great partner when it came to project management. They worked day and night, and we actually had to work hard to keep up with their pace. We used program management software and Skype video conferencing to communicate and manage tasks. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Dawson was knowledgeable and determined to meet our needs; he’s gained our loyalty forever. I hope Immersion continues to partner with the right clients because they deserve to get paid top dollar. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have nothing Immersion could improve on. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend being open-minded and communicating with Immersion; you get back what you put out.
