I am the HR business partner at Darashaw, an investment banking firm and business processing outsourcing organization certified under the ISO 9001:2000 guidelines.

For what projects/services did your company hire iGenero Web Solution Private Limited?

We needed to build a new corporate website to serve as an online product registry that replaces physical product books and information. iGenero was contracted for design consultation and to develop the platform’s user-facing frontend.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to consolidate all of our products and information in a convenient, accessible format. We also wanted to audit our UX and overhaul our employee portal product, which services over 100,000 users. 

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We have an annual contract with iGenero for tech and design work. 

Describe the project in detail.

After establishing an understanding of our business units and objectives, iGenero developed the website with input from the management and brand team. The extensive enterprise application consisted of 10-15 employee self-service modules and multiple user access levels.

The platform’s UX/UI was a more complex undertaking. iGenero conducted a series of workshops with the product team in order to gain a better grasp on the present scenario, overhaul goals, and technical specifications. The workshops included a deep dive into the user journey and current roadblocks the team faced. iGenero also conducted interviews with multiple platform stakeholders, from customers and the technology team to administrative user groups.

With this information, the UX team began the process of exploration, creating user personas, redefining user journeys to resolve existing issues, and ultimately developing wireframes and mockups for the refreshed UI. Post-iterations, iGenero then developed and delivered the final UI for platform integration.

We worked with a technical resource, a client servicing resource, a designer, and a UI developer, while the founder led the project.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The website, which iGenero completed and implemented in just three months, offers a completely new look and feel to our target audience that has greatly increased our visibility and BPO business. 

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We spoke two or three times every week about data management, but we communicate constantly regarding the ESS portal and website requirements. Their turnaround times for maintenance issues and change implementations have been extremely short, especially as compared to our other tech partners. We had two dedicated resources always available for tech and development support matters, one of which was the founder. 

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their ability to understand how consumers will access the website—then display the information with those ideas in mind—is laudable. They also possess a level of technical knowledge that is lacking in much of the industry. I also appreciate that their recommendations actually benefit the client, rather than just attract more business for themselves. 

Are there any areas for improvement?

Though their UX work lacks nothing, the design could be a little more innovative. However, while other companies may deliver something with all the frills, iGenero can be counted on to produce something extremely functional that will work the way you want it to.

The companies we invest in are diverse and require different technologies. For some, iGenero built and maintained web properties. Others needed to marketing, brand identity, their core consumer experience, UX/UI, and entire information and interface designs. They've done various projects focusing on web experience and e-commerce. iGenero conceptualizes all the requirements and designs for all our projects.

Currently, they're developing a large enterprise resource planning (ERP) system on the cloud. It’s a software as a service (SaaS) and an end-to-end operational management process. Their team designs the UX/UI, graphics, and libraries to clearly articulate a tangible set of controls for the user. They work hand-in-hand with us to define the UX for every module, lead generation, and workflow. They're a critical part of the product definition process and product experience journey.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

iGenero created a well-defined, tangible, and compelling UX as part of the technology strategy for an e-commerce jewelry store. This was one of our most important clients.

As for our online ERP SaaS product, we entered a tough market as it was monopolized by another software. Over the last few years, we’ve been able to make very serious advances. Our product's initial launch was extremely well-received and a lot of companies are now showing interest in engaging with us. Our products' UX is simple and solves a lot of internal complications. iGenero is crucial to continue to create our modular UX and provides us with compelling business and brand value.

How did iGenero Web Solution Private Limited perform from a project management standpoint?

In the beginning, we brief their team to clearly define expectations for every project. We communicate every day, every other day, weekly, or monthly depending on the complexity of the project. We conduct weekly reviews and take inputs to keep making selections, cost corrections, and modifications. They’re extremely responsive, proactive, helpful, and competent. We follow an Agile project methodology and use the latest development scrums and sprints. We use Trello and Atlassian to run our management as efficiently as we can.

What did you find most impressive about them?

From a technical perspective, they're extremely knowledgeable in the technology. They have a deep understanding of their tech stack and what they can achieve with it. From a non-technical standpoint, their team is approachable, and their developers don't have egos. They’re really flexible and have a good listening ear. They walk the talk and have positive attitudes.

They have the potential to scale and should find a business strategy to unlock their potential.

We needed a company to update our WordPress website and improve the navigation. This is the fourth version of the website and iGenero also did the third version for us.

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, we analyzed the existing website and identified our goals and objectives. We were on an older version of WordPress and we wanted to be on the latest version WordPress. Then, we discussed the layout and the placement of the menu and other elements and looked at some mockups. After that, we had a soft launch and then, we fully launched the website. They helped us with other websites as well, some of which are HTML sites.

How did you come to work with them?

Our CEO met them first, after that we had a meeting with them and decided they’d be a good fit. We started with a smaller website and then, we moved on to a bigger site.

I’m the Deputy Manager for Marketing Communications at LeGrand. We’re an international maker of electrical and digital products for residential, hospitality, industrial, and commercial segments.

What challenge were you trying to address with iGenero?

We needed to build our e-catalog, which is an online register of products that replaces the old, physical book of products and product information. We were trying to put all our products and information online in a very convenient and accessible format.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

iGenero helped us with the technical design and end-to-end development of it, and even as of today, they're maintaining the portal for us. The first step was us meeting and discussing what our priorities were about. We shared the technical scope of work with them and introduced them to the brand and span of our business. This wasn’t easy, because we classify our products in very technical ways, but they understood how it worked. They internalized the different categories the e-catalog had to include, as well as the different method’s through which our customers would access it. This was followed by them understanding what how our customers behaved and through what lenses they operated, which led into the main development work.

For the e-catalog, they extended our Laravel framework, which was chosen because it was highly customizable and could handle our unique business requirements. It was also chosen because it had to serve as the repository for all the product information (over 5,000 products) that the website has to draw on. They also built a custom CMS on the backend which allows us to update and delete data. They also developed the portal’s UI and UX.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a technical resource, a client servicing resource, a designer, a data entry resource, and, of course, the founder was leading the project.

How did you come to work with iGenero?

I was working with a company who had used them as their website developers, so I explored working with them on different tech projects. When I came to this assignment, I knew that they could handle a tech project of this complexity. We had four other partners under consideration while we were evaluating them, but when it came down to zeroing in on the partner who could deliver and give us the assurance of great service, it came down to iGenero.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $8,815 for the e-catalog, and then we spend $88,151 on a yearly basis to maintain the product. So, in total, we’ve spent around $185,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from May 2016 until December 2016.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Right now, the e-catalog has about 6,000 visitors every month, which represents organic, non-promotional results.

How did iGenero perform from a project management standpoint?

Their turnaround time for maintenance issues has been extremely short, as have the change implementation times, especially in comparison to our other tech partners. The founder was a constant touchpoint about tech and development support matters. At any point in time, we had two resources available.

They had the entire catalog up and running within three months, which is commendable seeing as we have close to $5,000 products. They’ve done a laudable job understanding how consumers will access it and displaying information with those ideas in mind.

Their technical know-how is something that a lot of partners in the industry are lacking. The fact that their recommendations are good for the client, instead of something that just fetches them more business, is also praiseworthy. They’re very passionate as a team. They’re also great consultants – they’ve given great off-hand advice about other projects.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think they could improve their UI skills. Their UX work doesn’t suffer at all, but I think the design can improve.

Any advice for potential customers?

I would say to give them a chance, because there's a fair chance that they’ll hand you something that’s absolutely workable and extremely functional. Whereas, with another partner, you might get something that has all the frills, but won’t work the way you want it to.
