What was the scope of their involvement?
iGenero helped us with the technical design and end-to-end development of it, and even as of today, they're maintaining the portal for us. The first step was us meeting and discussing what our priorities were about. We shared the technical scope of work with them and introduced them to the brand and span of our business. This wasn’t easy, because we classify our products in very technical ways, but they understood how it worked. They internalized the different categories the e-catalog had to include, as well as the different method’s through which our customers would access it. This was followed by them understanding what how our customers behaved and through what lenses they operated, which led into the main development work.
For the e-catalog, they extended our Laravel framework, which was chosen because it was highly customizable and could handle our unique business requirements. It was also chosen because it had to serve as the repository for all the product information (over 5,000 products) that the website has to draw on. They also built a custom CMS on the backend which allows us to update and delete data. They also developed the portal’s UI and UX.
What is the team composition?
We worked with a technical resource, a client servicing resource, a designer, a data entry resource, and, of course, the founder was leading the project.
How did you come to work with iGenero?
I was working with a company who had used them as their website developers, so I explored working with them on different tech projects. When I came to this assignment, I knew that they could handle a tech project of this complexity. We had four other partners under consideration while we were evaluating them, but when it came down to zeroing in on the partner who could deliver and give us the assurance of great service, it came down to iGenero.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $8,815 for the e-catalog, and then we spend $88,151 on a yearly basis to maintain the product. So, in total, we’ve spent around $185,000.
