A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm a director for a realtor association.
What challenge were you trying to address with Idenhaus?
We needed an update and assessment of our security policies and procedures.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They used a scanning tool that was installed with our supervision, and we gave them access to our network. Once they were on it, they were able to reach out with this software and do a scan of our environment, looking for endpoints. In addition to the network scan, they interviewed members of our leadership team to assess our policies surrounding cybersecurity.
The scan was completed over the course of a weekend, and they presented us with an assessment on the state of their security posture based on the NIST framework. The report provided a detailed look at the technical perspective of the on-premise appliances, endpoints, and our cloud environment to find out what vulnerabilities there were. They also assessed where we were from a policy perspective, and if we had repeatable processes that were being appropriately recorded.
Idenhaus has also been helping us write policy documentation for our entire environment including any change of access for firms and existing employees, onboarding new employees, and ensuring we’re exiting employees properly.
We plan to collaborate with them beyond this initial assessment for continual health checks on our security.
What is the team composition?
We work with Hanno (Founder) and about six other people. The team includes technicians and document specialists.
How much have you invested with them?
We've invested between $10,000–$50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in July 2022, and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their work has not only given us peace of mind, but also informs documentation for insurance coverage for accidents. They’ve provided us with a framework for security that we didn't have before we worked with them. Idenhaus has taken us to a more serious and professional place in terms of information security in general.
How did Idenhaus perform from a project management standpoint?
Idenhaus has been providing exemplary project management. They are flexible with scheduling and have been willing to change the scope of the project midway through. We primarily communicate via email and phone calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They're very thorough in their work. There were issues that we knew needed to be fixed, but they brought things to our attention that we had never considered. They're very knowledgeable and flexible.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s nothing that we can think of.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the CEO of Fire Protection Services, LLC, a fire and life safety company. We provide inspection, testing, and maintenance services for fire and life safety systems such as fire alarms, fire sprinklers, kitchen hood suppression systems, and portable fire extinguishers.
For what projects/services did your company hire Idenhaus?
We hired Idenhaus to assist us with a management meeting.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal was to establish a long-term strategic plan for the management team. We also wanted to define our core values and discuss strategies that would strengthen company culture and overall alignment between management and company staff.
How did you select this vendor?
Idenhaus is well-known in my marketplace. I am also familiar with Hanno (Founder, Idenhaus).
Describe the project in detail.
Idenhaus facilitated the meeting and provided structure to manage ongoing activities. They planned the agenda, outlined the strategy, and did a SWOT analysis over a couple of sessions.
Based on a company-wide survey conducted by Idenhaus, we defined our mission and vision statements. We also spent time planning long- and short-term initiatives. It was important for us to see how each would affect the company compared to our core values and long-term plans.
What was the team composition?
I attended the sessions along with our director of revenue, general manager, and director of technical operations. Besides the facilitator, Idenhaus included someone to document the meetings, which made the sessions much smoother.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We quickly implemented the short-term objectives and started to tackle our mid-range goals.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was extremely effective.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The Idenhaus team was highly experienced and brought value to each step of the process. They were good at encouraging ideas that were quite specific in some cases and thought-provoking in others. It was obvious that they had been in similar engagements.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Other than returning more often to follow up and guide future sessions, I don't have much to add.

Please describe your company and your position there.
Bell Textron Inc is an iconic company with superb talent, rapidly creating novel and coveted vertical lift experiences.
As the manager of identity and access management, I am committed to supporting the Bell mission of “rapid creation” through strategic automated provisioning and ensuring our products are “novel and coveted” by protecting our data.
For what projects/services did your company hire Idenhaus?
To support our mission, we needed to update our identity and access management (IAM) technology roadmap and processes. I relied on Idenhaus for their expertise in IAM and their ability to help us execute our plan.
How did you select this vendor?
I found Idenhaus through phone solicitation on their part.
Describe the project in detail.
Idenhaus conducted a one-week consulting effort to help us develop our roadmap and isolate top vendor software platforms for a selection process. Once we purchased our software and were ready to execute, they provided personnel to help guide us through the process and provide technical expertise where we had gaps.
Overall, this project lasted about 14 months, from October 2017–December 2018. Since then, I have contracted with Idenhaus for several initiatives throughout my journey to transform our IAM capabilities.
I recently engaged them between June–July 2019 to help us develop a formal Q/A framework. We wanted to ensure we develop a quality solution with minimum time dedicated to manual testing. We needed to mature our testing processes and establish automation capabilities.
My goals were to develop a baseline framework with repeatable tests as well as a strategy for leveraging testing automation where possible. This testing framework would be the building block for our team's future test case development.
The statement of work had clearly defined goals for the types of test cases I wanted built out. He was asked to leverage our existing Q/A tools as possible and recommend an overall testing strategy going forward.
He documented not only the test cases but all the tribal knowledge that was required to perform testing. The Idenhaus consultant came onsite for his first week and his final week. In between, he worked remotely and we had checkpoint meetings twice a week.
What was the team composition?
Several members of the Idenhaus team have been engaged in parts of the project. The main resource is an IAM architect who plays multiple roles in our project.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
During the first project, we successfully implemented the EmpowerID solution at Bell and implemented connectors to our SAP, PLM and MES systems. They quickly learned our environment and team culture to help us select and architect the right IAM solution to be part of the overall modernization of our IAM processes.
They provided exceptional value during this process and worked with the IGA vendor to ensure we were meeting both our short and long term goals.
For the second project, Idehaus generated 30+ fully documented manual test cases and another 20+ automated test cases in six weeks. He also delivered a presentation to our Senior leadership with his recommendations and a roadmap for how to continue to mature our Q/A capabilities.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Idenhaus delivered work on time consistently and provided significant value to our project.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The most impressive aspect of the Idenhaus team is their commitment to exceeding expectations.
Are there any areas for improvement?
No, not that I can think of.
Any advice for potential customers?
I recommend Idenhaus as a partner in your IAM solutions. They are particularly valuable as advisors in developing your roadmap.
