During our cooperation, one of our clients noticed that their website has dropped dramatically in performance during the pandemic, due to using an outdated Magento 1 e-commerce platform. Magento 1 is no longer supported by Adobe and that means no more performance updates, not to mention major security red flags. Also, because the existing site wasn’t mobile-friendly we had issues with abandoned carts and mobile conversions.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I've noticed that our website has dropped dramatically in performance during the pandemic, due to using an outdated Magento 1 e-commerce platform. Magento 1 is no longer supported by Adobe and that means no more performance updates, not to mention major security red flags. Also, because the existing site wasn’t mobile-friendly we had issues with abandoned carts and mobile conversions.

We've send the technical task and Maks had an already prepared research on our first kick-off meeting with approximate estimate that we've asked. On that meeting we discussed all the details and received the accurate estimation in a day or two. He showed me what exactly was required for me and what could be postponed. The consultation step was really nice, conctrete and smooth and the roadmap looked real so we started the cooperation. I'm in touch with Maks or their PM and they inform me about everything that was done every week. The main what I like about that team is that they understand my pain and I didn’t need to say smth anymore.

We have an access to communicate with each person from the development team, there was two front-end developers, one backend, a QA specialist, a project manager and a talanted designer. We had regular meetings within software development and design streams. The most common point of a contact was a PM.

When we finished with migration I saw that website is faster. Definitely it's quality make the SEO rates a bit better and the client's journey on the website longer than before. We have about 40-50% more visitors and about 15-20% more sales. And the statistic is still growing.

We use Jira, Bitbucket, Notion: meeting notes, documentation, etc., Slack, weekly meetings, technical charts, Google Drive. When the project was started they decided to use sprints. It was kind of very effective.

The communication was with CEO/CTO of the company and we agreed the fixed price for the MVP and guys made it sooner than I expect. It attracted me even more to the IdeainYou, because I had the bad experience with IT teams in the past (it felt like they were delaying development to earn more).

We have encountered many technical issues: slow website page loading speed, loss of orders and data, abandoned carts and an interface that is not user-friendly. We wanted IdeaInYou to redesign the eCommerce website, improve its performance and make it mobile-friendly meeting the tight deadline. We reviewed the initial requirements and decided to assign this task to one of the Magento developers.

My task was to find a vendor who would provide us with a quality solution for all technical problems and optimizations in the shortest possible period. My choice to seek help from IdeaInYou was based on my colleagues' previous experience, positive feedback about the company and the solution they were able to give us in a short deadline without delays or arrogant promises.

First of all, we drafted and sent a document with the listed tasks for cooperation in order to optimise the website. We then discussed all possible options and ways of solving the technical problems and approved the final budget. After revising the website's tech stack and the requirements of the customer, we decided to move it to Magento 2 from Magento 1 to make it more performant, easily scalable and UX-focused.
I must emphasize that the IdeaInYou team consists of workers with great experience, expertise and professionalism. We kept in touch and received a progress report every week to keep track of the process and the outcome of the work.

We had the opportunity to communicate with each member of the team involved in optimising the website (two front-end developers, one backend, a QA specialist, a project manager and a designer). Finally, we separated the themes for mobile, web and desktop from each other, created stand-alone design solutions, improved the quality of our website and its speed was improved and made it more user-friendly. Consequently, it has boosted our SEO rankings and quantity of website visitors. As a result, we have about 27% more sales. And now we are continuing our cooperation with the purpose of increasing sales.
