UX/UI Design for Cryptocurrency Startup Firm
"They spent time learning about our product in order to build flows that properly aligned with its function."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of a global crypto startup that allows users to send money from one country to another using Bitcoins in the back.
What challenge were you trying to address with HumanX?
We were looking for UX designers for our web platform.
What was the scope of their involvement?
As developers and founders of the platform, we had biases when we designed our version. Our goal was to eliminate those biases by partnering with an external team that could approach the UX design differently.
Using psychological concepts to inform their design for the app, their team enabled us to design something that my founder and I wouldn’t have thought of on our own.
The final app allows users to create a borderless account that allows them to access the US dollar from around the world. This is done using cryptocurrency, but people on the app can seamlessly use its services without knowledge of the cryptocurrency and blockchains occurring on the backend.
Their team was key in eliminating as many technical complexities in the app’s design as possible to give users a simple, seamless experience.
What is the team composition?
I worked with the founder, a project manager, and three designers.
How did you come to work with HumanX?
Through referrals and some case studies, I found online, I came across HumanX. I started up a conversation with the founder as well as some other design firm. They were most impressive, so we ended up working with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working with them since May 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our application isn’t live yet, so we don’t have too many metrics at this point. However, the people who have seen the app have given us great feedback. We’re happy with the work and excited about the launch of the product.
How did HumanX perform from a project management standpoint?
The team was extremely dedicated, always delivering ahead of schedule. The project was managed extremely well.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Partway through the project, we encountered a setback and required them to redo some of what they’d built. They were extremely understanding of our situation and adjusted their work without charging us extra for the changes. That’s something few people would do. They were patient with us throughout the entire project.
They spent time learning about our product in order to build flows that properly aligned with its function. I was very impressed with their dedication to that.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nothing comes to mind right now.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We are a Walt Disney company that distributes and produces movies. I work as the digital marketing head and its my responsibility to create engaging experiences as well as increase awareness and consideration to watch for different films
For what projects/services did your company hire Human Experience Design ?
We wanted to create an engagement experience for a forthcoming film, for which we wanted to use cutting edge AR/VR, which would come alive from a number of surfaces and triggers.
What were your goals for this project?
a) Build a wow factor for the film by increasing engagement so that the film rated high on "Top of mind" scores b) Use a never-seen-before AR experience for the film
How did you select this vendor?
We worked with Human Experience because they came back with a comprehensive customer solution that involved use of a technology rather than a technology solution. As the digital marketing head I was the final decision maker in this, and I had help from the head of IT to understand if the requirement on cloud and server space was alright
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
As said earlier - the project was to provide an end-to-end AR experience to the customer to enhance engagement and intent to watch a film release. The Human Experience team built the customer journey, the wireframes to capture it and then got down to coding the experience and building the animation that formed part of it. After our initial set of briefing documents and access to server, cloud and Google Lens developer platform Human Experience owned the rest of the project
What was the team composition?
The team consisted of 2 front-end developers, one designer and one overall team lead.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
We saw a lift of around 3x in terms of time spent compared to a typical page. For the audience that engaged with the AR experience, we were able to export this to Google Ads and found they did better in terms of performance metrics. The project has also been shortlisted for a variety of digital awards, and we'll know the outcomes soon.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
We worked with Slack and Hangouts to share feedback, and set up weekly and then alternate day project update meetings.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They managed a complex project with new technologies while keeping the end-client experience front and center.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Probably in estimating timelines realistically, since there was always a rush to finish.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the founder and CEO of a for-profit social enterprise called BioBlocks. We make indoor and outdoor solutions to combat problems caused by air pollution as well as urban heat island effect. We seek to increase efficiency for cooling systems, using a data-driven, systematic, and sustainable approach.
For what projects/services did your company hire Human Experience Design?
We wanted to create a design language that could present serious, scientific data while still being easily digestible by readers. We were starting from scratch and had to develop everything right from the company logo to the design language and theme to the website flow.
How did you select this vendor?
As a serial entrepreneur, I often interact with various service providers. Aside from competency and relative expertise, I tend to look for teams that have good chemistry with my own. I got a positive vibe from Human Experience Design, not only from their previous work but from how they approached the project as a whole as well as how they tackled challenges.
What was the team composition?
Multiple people have worked on the project so far. Sanal (Founder, Human Experience Design) has been tremendously supportive and communicative throughout the entire process. I’ve also interacted with several designers, who provided top-notch suggestions and results.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We’re still in the process of completing our project, so we don’t have any hard metrics. However, the logo, design language, and wireframes are progressing nicely. I’m certain that our work will resonate with customers when we launch.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Given our various and, at times, difficult demands, their team has been really supportive. Although I have a small team with limited bandwidth, they’ve understood our constraints and accommodate them. They continue to help us lay down the proper groundwork for our product.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I appreciate their overall approach towards the project in terms of the processes. They’re genuinely friendly and provide crucial support. They also create top-notch designs.
Are there any areas for improvement?
As they enter the next growth phase and begin dealing with more complex customers and ideas, it might benefit them to set up more robust processes to streamline the project.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the co-founder and director of EllePaisa. Our digital knowledge platform educates, empowers, and encourages action for women to reach for financial independence.
For what projects/services did your company hire Human Experience Design?
Human Experience Design helped design a content site for EllePaisa. We requested an interface that looked professional and serious, yet not intimidating. A big challenge for us was making the design appealing and user-friendly while making sure it didn’t promote gender biases by using too many “feminine” colors.
What were your goals for this project?
We asked the team to design our site’s homepage and several content pages. In addition, they also created the mobile UI
How did you select this vendor?
We found the team in a forum for the social sector. Our company is focused on empowering women to take an active role in finance and investments. We chose Human Experience Design because they understood our mission and overarching concept. Meeting these criteria was incredibly essential for us in our hiring decision.
Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?
The team designed and developed both our website and logo. We started off with a meeting that focused on understanding the full scope. Since then, we’ve have gone through multiple revisions to arrive at a design that has worked well for us.
What was the team composition?
It was good to see the whole team involved in our project at some level.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
It’s too soon to provide evidence like metrics. Given the exact nature of our design specs, Human Experience Design’s final deliverable was spot on in that aspect. The team took enough time to make sure we’d love the final design.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
The team was effective and responsive. People from all different parts of their company worked together to deliver our project.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Human Experience Design showed enthusiasm about working on new concepts. They were a great, liberal-minded team to work with.
Are there any areas where they can improve?
We would have liked a tighter turnaround time.

For what projects/services did your company hire Human Experience Design?
They provided consulting for our brand and we’ll continue to collaborate with them for our website’s design and development.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted a young and dynamic company that would also be sensitive to the issue of organ donation.
How did you select this vendor?
I liked their website’s originality and creativity as well as the fact that they were working with nonprofits to support social causes. This speaks tons about their values and design as well! They were the perfect fit for our organization.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
Since I work in Michigan and they’re based out of India, it wasn't possible for us to meet, so they sent me a form to fill out with details about our organization. We chatted about our goals and expectations and they sent me three ideas. Based on my feedback, they were able to modify my selection and provided a design of my choice within a week! They went through an incredibly fast and well-thought-out design process.

I worked with their founder and director.

We have received plenty of compliments on our brand identity.

What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their ability to adapt to a concept quickly and produce a well-planned brand identity is remarkable.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I look forward to seeing them grow as a company.

UI Design for Healthcare Company
“One user said that this was the best dashboard they’d ever used.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re a consulting company that provides solutions on the IBM platform. I’m a director.
What challenge were you trying to address with Human Experience Design?
We needed resources to work on fine nuances of the UI. We can build excellent code in-house, but may not get the colors and format of the theme just right so it can wow the customers. We needed outside help for that.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had the requirements from the customer and a sense of what information we wanted to present. Our rough layout had the data elements that we wanted to present in the dashboard. We worked with them to define the order of what appears on the screen and where, then fine-tuned it according to feedback we received. They did all the finer points of the visual presentation and came to us with wireframes for all the other assets that they could embed into our dashboards.
What is the team composition?
Their founder was our point of contact.
How did you come to work with Human Experience Design?
We heard about them through word of mouth.
How much have you invested with them?
Less than $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together on January to March 2017. We’ll be engaging them again soon.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They provide a critical part of our products, but not the bulk of the effort. One user said that this was the best dashboard they’d ever used. We got a service award from a large healthcare company for the work they helped us with. It was a key leadership dashboard used by all nationwide managers from across the healthcare company.
How did Human Experience Design perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re really responsive and made themselves available when we needed them. It’s always challenging to work with somebody offshore as by the time you wake up in the morning, it’s late evening for them. However, they made sure they were available for us when we had to present to a customer. We used email, WhatsApp, and WebEx to communicate.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re smart.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They should get more resources.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be as open as you can with them. That’s the best way they can help you.
