I'm the marketing manager at Metallized Carbon. We make carbon graphite materials for a wide range of industries, including aerospace, oil and gas, food and pharmaceutical, and medical industries. We sell carbon graphite bearings, seals, and other mechanical components to major OEMs.

What challenge were you trying to address with Hudson Fusion?

We're a fairly small company with less than $40 million in annual revenue. We wanted to bring our services and go-to market strategy to the next level. Since we didn't have an internal marketing team, we were looking for an outside agency to help us rebrand ourselves and tailor our message to our end users.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our initial goal was a complete redesign of our website followed by marketing, email automation, and lead generation. We also wanted to get into advertising and use Google AdWords. We had several meetings with Hudson Fusion where they tried to understand our business, our customers, and our needs. Then, they gave us different options and different designs to choose from and got down to work. It’s a very collaborative process and we have weekly meetings where we discuss different approaches and the challenges that come up.

What is the team composition?

We mostly work through our account manager.

How did you come to work with them?

We did an online search and used a few recommendations from our friends in the industry. After interviewing three firms, we decided that Hudson Fusion was the best fit for us because they were the right size and offered a wide range of services. Their rates were also affordable.

How much have you invested with them?

We pay them $5,500 a month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in August 2016 and the relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our cost per conversion went down and the number of qualified leads doubled.

How did they perform from a project management standpoint?

They stay on top of everything. We have weekly calls and they always follow up on what we discuss.

I'm impressed with their level of activity and productivity. We've worked with them for a couple of years and they're always bringing new ideas to the table.

We've already established about six months of data, but we’d like to see more numbers as we’re moving towards our numerical goals.

Hudson Fusion revamped our entire website from the ground up. They perform SEO optimization and provide other types of digital marketing and email marketing. Additionally, they write blogs for our website with content we give them to align with the SEO efforts with Google. Hudson Fusion also helps us with AdWords and Facebook advertising to get more surrogates.

Nicole serves as our project manager. She knows the ins-and-outs of our business, and she is the perfect lead for our account to target the marketing specific to our company

How did you come to work with Hudson Fusion?

Our company’s growth outpaced the growth of our previous marketing vendor. We realized we needed new marketing techniques that complement the direction we want to take our company and hired Hudson Fusion.

How much have you invested with them?

We have them on a monthly retainer of about $12,000. Currently, we are on an increased retainer with them as we are still in the process of building an additional database. Our expected monthly retainer after this process should be about $6,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them back in the fall of 2016, and we continue our engagement with them.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our business as a whole is in the best place it's ever been. We have more surrogates and intended parents than we’ve had in years. Hudson Fusion has done a great job in terms of the marketing efforts for our clients to find us better. The numbers we have show the results.

How did Hudson Fusion perform from a project management standpoint?

They are very communicative. They often send us follow-up emails and their stream of communication is very helpful. We have a trusting bond and partnership with Hudson Fusion and we could not have picked a better agency to work with to meet our company's marketing needs!

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are flexible in terms of what we request from them. We often request them to do a couple of extra tasks for us and their team is always capable of multitasking. We also appreciate that they take the extra step of brainstorming new ideas and initiatives for our company.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Thanks to Hudson Fusion’s efforts, our company’s marketing needs could not be better met. The only aspect they could potentially improve on is the amount of time it takes to complete large projects, like the creation of a database to be built. However, the time it took was definitely worth the wait as there were no massive issues when our website launched because of Hudson Fusion’s thorough efforts to ensure that there would be minimal errors and/or glitches

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I suggest giving Hudson Fusion as much information about your company as possible so they can best fit the needs of your company.  As long as you communicate your marketing needs on a regular basis, they will guide you every step of the way. We highly recommend them!
