I run a nonprofit called True Colorado along with my business partner. We create educational video production projects that focus on educating Colorado citizens on the unique values Coloradans share. We aim to show people through video production the history of Colorado culture, and how we can protect the culture by telling the stories of our citizens.

What were your goals for this project?
We want to create a library of videos for current Coloradans or future residents to seek information on what makes CO a great place to live. The project is ongoing and has been a great success. We have a great start to our video library, and Honest Films is the only company that can help our goal become a reality.
How did you select Honest Films?
We talked with dozens of video production companies, and Honest Films was in a league of its own. Nate drove down to Denver and met with us at a coffee shop during our first meeting. Unlike the other production companies, Nate's pure focus was on our goal as a nonprofit.
He didn't dive into specific video ideas or budgets, he simply wanted to understand us from a high level. He asked questions that other companies didn't, and he chose to see our nonprofit from a high level before getting into the business side of things.
Honest Films cares about the projects they take on, and that was apparent from the start. It was an eye-opening meeting, and Nate and Honest Films have been with us every step of the way since then.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
The videos we produce focus on creating a "Colorado aesthetic". Instead of boring interviews with green screens, we take our viewers into the the beauty of Colorado. This creates challenges, but our cohesion with Honest Films makes it easy. They understand everything we are trying to do, so the process is smooth and easy.
They spend a lot of time understanding the overall goal of the project before diving into any real production. Once the project is understood and agreed upon by both sides, the production itself is easy as Honest Films are true professionals.
Production shoot days are by far the most fun, and Nate and his crew know how to get things done without skipping details. They then quickly turn around a rough cut of the video, going through rounds of revisions to get the project exactly where we want it.
They don't cut corners, and have great recommendations for edits on the rough cut. The whole process is very easy, and we have a whole lot of fun working with Honest Films.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
Honest Films process is understandable and easy to work with. They communicate every step of the way so that we are never confused as to next steps. Everyone on the team works well together, and we haven't experienced any hiccups in the process. They go the extra mile to get the project done exactly how we want it.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have grown a lot in the past 2 year since starting. This project has become bigger than expected as people all over the state want their stories told. We have created pieces on legislation that have had direct impact on the hearts and minds of our citizens.
Honest Films creates such good quality videos, people are attracted to our work as they aren't used to great visuals while being educated. As we grow, we will be able to gage the results even further.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Workflow is very easy with Honest Films. They are busy with other projects while working on ours, but you would never guess that was the case. Nate and his team are always available to talk, even on road trips driving through snow in Wyoming! (Yes that really happened). They work with you every step of the way, never losing sight of that original goal.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Honest Films has the ability to create videos with a variety of different industries. In the nonprofit world, so much of what we do is centered around the right messaging. Because they work in so many areas, they are able to quickly understand the goals of your project and create unique production around it.
They can work with a small nonprofit like us, and then the next day work with a large Fortune 500 company. You will not see a change in quality with Honest Films.

For what projects/services did your company hire Honest Films?
We've worked with Honest Films in many ways over the years, primarily to create brand videos that tell our company's story and to create curriculum videos that we use in our nonprofit programs.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to produce a high volume of videos in a short period of time with a minimal amount of time spent filming on site.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
We coordinated with Honest Films to plan a detailed production schedule, film intensively for several days in a different state, and then produce more than 50+ videos in English and Spanish.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
Honest Films had several specialists on their team, including production and post-production experts. They coordinated together seamlessly with us, and they iterated on many rounds of feedback.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The videos that Honest Films created for us helped our nonprofit to expand our reach across the country. We've added dozens of new partner sites and increased enrollment in our programs dramatically.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The team was always proactive and responsive in their communication to us. We've used Google docs, Dropbox, and Vimeo to coordinate projects.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Honest Films has always been extremely flexible in creating videos that meet the organization's unique needs. They're good companions during long, exhausting shoots and always accommodating during post production tweaks.
Thanks to the efforts of the Honest Films team, the company has had a tangible impact on the residents of the State since starting the project. Their work has affected legislation and they are continuously getting requests from people who want their stories told.
