Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the owner and stylist of a hair salon.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with HiveBrand?

I challenged HiveBrand to drive more traffic to my website, which would drive more traffic to my front door. My website needed to be remade. I had one that I made myself, but I’m no professional. So, I hired Darnell (Project Lead, HiveBrand).

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Darnell made my entire website. He made mockups of the site and streamlined the entire process. He also helped with branding, designing my logo and business cards.

Finally, Darnell helped me with content. We were doing a blog at the time, and he helped me correct what I wrote. He corrected my grammar and would reword things. 

What is the team composition? 

I worked entirely with Darnell.

How did you come to work with HiveBrand?

I look for people I like, and I immediately liked Darnell. He’s very professional, has patience, and has great ideas.

He came to my salon at a busy time, sat down with me and made me feel very calm. The other people I interviewed either talked too much or too fast. Darnell explained everything to me very well, so I hired him.

How much have you invested with them?

I invested somewhere around $1,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together for less than six months in 2012.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Darnell wanted me to retain his services for monthly touchups to my website, and he was very reasonable in his pricing. It didn’t make sense for me to do that because my industry was focused on social media, but I liked Darnell so much that I considered it.

I also just love my logo. It’s unique, and it stands out.

How did HiveBrand perform from a project management standpoint?

If he’s running late, he’ll let you know. He’s not one to disappear. He’ll keep in touch, and he always emailed me back right away.

What did you find most impressive about them?

He has a great eye for color and is a natural at design. I felt like he had real talent.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing off the top of my head. Darnell was always ready when I needed him. I really liked that man.
