Please describe your company and your position there.
I was the CEO of Nitrous, an application development infrastructure company that provided a platform for software developers to build web and mobile applications on their web browser. I was responsible for the company's overall strategy, financing, hiring and high-level managers, as well as developing overall marketing and sales strategies.
For what projects/services did your company hire Hippo Thinks?
We hired Hippo Thinks to help us develop a thought leadership strategy and develop a long-form article targeting the growing learn-to-code audience.
What were your goals for this project?
The goals were to give a high-level understanding of the technical infrastructure required for software development, a look at the state of the industry, and an overview of the benefits of our solution with some supporting case studies.
How did you select this vendor?
I know the co-founders personally and had heard from a number of mutual friends at other companies who had great experiences with their thought leadership pieces.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
We had a few high-level strategy calls with our project leads and gave them an overview of our technology, our target customers, and our goals with developing content for our business.
What was the team composition?
There were four people involved: a project lead, researcher, writer, and editor.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We created a long-form post about the benefits of using our service to develop software applications and successfully placed the piece in the Huffington Post with my byline. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/the-programming-revolutio_b_5607587
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Communication was consistent and clear, and our project was executed on time.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Communication with our team lead was great. We were also impressed with the strategic work, the deep research they did into our industry, and the overall final long-form article.
Are there any areas for improvement?
None that come to mind!
Internal stakeholders were pleased with the final piece, and it was successfully placed in a notable online publication. Hippo Thinks went above and beyond to research the industry, participating in high-level strategy calls to get a solid grasp on the technical solution.
