I’m the program director at a community college.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Hippalus Technologies?

We had a client that had some specialized needs for managing quality matters within their organization. Their system was a bit antiquated, and they wanted something highly customized. 

We decided to work with Hippalus, because we didn’t have the full range of capacity internally to deliver that solution.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Hippalus helped us build a customized web-based quality management system for our client. They came on board at the very beginning, once we had an initial scope of the project. They did a deeper dive of what the real end-point desire was for the client, and helped drive conversations to understand what needed to happen.

We let them lead the design as far as the programming went, and they worked alongside our programmer and UX designer.

What is the team composition?

There were only a couple people involved with the project. It wasn’t huge, but it was big enough. I worked directly with the owner of Hippalus.

How did you come to work with Hippalus Technologies?

They were a recommendation from an internal resource at the college. We interviewed them along with one or two other organizations, and based on their flexibility, they seemed like the best fit.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January 2013–January 2016.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The project took place in multiple modules, and each module interacted with another in some way. Hippalus was very good at ensuring that that quality aspect rolled out nicely. They were very helpful to our internal team. They made sure everyone was in sync throughout the entire project.

Our client opted to use the system Hippalus helped us create, choosing it over other well known modules. It’s because of the quality of the program that they were able to do that.

How did Hippalus Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Hippalus was fantastic at communication, as well as keeping up with deadlines and dates. If there were any questions, they were on top of getting answers and clearing up the project. 

From a project management standpoint, they understood the requirements early on. They asked all the right questions, and were very fair and honest about the cost that would be involved. They were also organized: they always knew what their team was doing and what our team was doing. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive thing about Hippalus is their ability to stay on top of the latest programming technology. Their knowledge is very in-depth.

Are there any areas they could improve?

At certain times, we had minor issues when it came to the language barrier and understanding each other. Other than that, they were phenomenal. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give as much information as possible. The more you can give, the better result you’ll get.
