BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I work at a cleaning company that covers London and greater London. My role is that of a consultant.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire HFM Tax & Accounts?

We hired them for their personalised service in handling our tax and accounts. They upgraded our systems and helped us achieve paperless invoicing by using cloud accounting software which was a real treat.

What were your goals for this engagement?

Our goal was simple, to ensure our accounts were done conveniently and efficiently. Most importantly, we wanted to save on overpaying tax. As a business you can never take any risks so overpaying always seemed safer but HFM assured us we were paying the right amount every time.

How did you select HFM Tax & Accounts?

We searched on Google for accountants in London and found them nearly at the top. We reached out to a few companies but HFM was different from the beginning because we received a call from Ian Marlow who explained the way they work and it seemed to be a good click. We considered other options too but HFM came out on top.

Describe the engagement in detail.

We held several calls and then we had them visit our premises to look through our books. They were able to do most things remotely which was a plus. We also visited their office at one point to sign some documents and it was very useful that they had an office that was close to us.

Describe their billing or cost structure.

They have a fixed billing structure so we always knew what to expect. There were no surprises which was always a fear in the past.

What was the team composition?

We mainly worked with 2 people, the senior accountant and a junior one. They made a good team and we considered them to be a part of our own team as they understood our business very well.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

We saw an immediate improvement in our cashflow and we reduced the time our documentation took by 70%.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was very useful that you could just pick up the phone and reach out to them any time during the work day. But most of our work was managed via emails and quickbooks, the accounting software they introduced to us.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The level of professionalism and the availability of their senior accountants made all the difference.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We are quite happy with HFM and can't suggest any areas for improvement at this time.
