Website redesign. We went in search of a firm that could understand our vision, re-build it on WordPress and make it a reality.

We found Hexagon on Clutch. After speaking with a number of other web design firms, at all price points, we chose Hexagon because their team best appreciated our perspective and they offered design suggestions and ideas right off the bat to incorporate into our existing brand image and help us refine it.

We had a series of design and development meetings with Hexagon's creative team to define the new website structure and elements. Moving into development, they gave us access to the dev site to watch the website take form and we were able to send inputs, edits, and changes to them, which made the process highly collaborative.

Hexagon was receptive to edits, changes, and revisions as the website was taking shape, we were able to watch the progress and participate in the process.

From the earliest stages, we were most impressed by the way Hexagon understood our vision and intention for the new website.

We meet weekly for about 4-5 weeks to realize the project. They were fantastic in listening to our needs, both aesthetic and functional while offering suggestions from their own knowledge. Furthermore they offered a web programming solution that allows us to continue to edit and expand the website over time.

The project was completed quickly. Hexagon Creative communicated effectively with us and was able to resolve any minor problems or questions we had as soon as they arose.

The team comprised of myself (the owner of the company), the tech lead (who was responsible for most of the physical web updates), and the marketing lead (who created the brand strategy for the website makeover).

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project just ended, so I have yet to report out on the success I've seen in increased traffic and bounce rate within the new website. With the new layout, I do expect to receive more client consultation and scheduled sessions. The website design is much more repsonse. The usability, flow and look of the site has improved significantly.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The team was easy to communicate with, and readily available through text and phone calls. We had a touch point meeting one a week for four weeks until the redesign was completed. Hexagon was very receptive to my suggestions, and I was receptive to theirs. The team stuck to its timeliInes as well.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed by the knowledge that Hexagon had about web design, user experience, and optimization. I intend to use their services in the future for SEO and website maintenence.

We got off to a delayed start due to some family issues that were no fault of the team...but once we started, Hexagon stayed consistent with project execution.

We compared Hexagon's proposal to the other two agencies we sent an RFP to, and Hexagon had the best proposal at a great price.

We called them in to do a full website redesign and rebranding, they built it on the wordpress platform, proposed designs for us to review, got us up and running on google.

Not only did they complete the work but they also helped with the marketing and promotion ideas.

After launching our new website and logo, we saw a 160% boost in traffic to our site, tons of positive feedback on our new look, and brought in much more business than we could have before.

Really solid and consistent. We had 2 check-ins per week at the beginning, which eventually moved to once per week once we got going. The team was always highly responsive to emails and questions.

Their knowledge and experience in so many areas that I never would have imagined were necessary for our website.

I needed help setting up my website.

I had a Shopify template with information. I also provided pictures, and video, and my ideas of how I wanted the layout. They revamped the template, changing the flow to make it work well. They designed and developed the entire website with WordPress.

I found them through a Google search, and my coworker recommended them based on a website they had helped her create. One of the main reasons I hired them was a positive review from my coworker on their communication.

We worked together from February 2020 – May 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The website is very interactive. Feedback from customers has been great. They love the speed, ease of use, readability, and interactivity.

How did Axented perform from a project management standpoint?

Steven was very responsive, and always available to me. His communication skills are amazing. We met in person twice, but otherwise communicated via phone and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They did a great job representing my brand, with a crisp design. This was my first time doing a website, and it has been completely positive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Steven has a tendency to think people understand the development lingo. If he’s working with someone who knows nothing about coding and development, he could slow down and explain some of the process more. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust the process, and understand that the world of coding is completely different than what you see from the user side of things. It can be scary if you don’t know anything about it; the final image will probably be different than what you think you want.

I’m the owner of Social Tykes—an indoor children’s play space in Detroit. We’re under construction and will open in May. We will offer drop-in care for children ages 0–6 as well as activities for all family members.

I wanted a website that represented my overall creative vision. I needed to be able to show someone my website so that they could understand who we are and what we stand for.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Hexagon Creative managed the entire development. They did the overall design, but I gave them my thoughts. I explained my business and overall vision. I provided a color palette for the website as well as the one for the interior of the business because I wanted it to be reflected on the website. Their team also added my Instagram account to the platform.

Motor City Match—a grants program in Detroit—had a list of web designers that they’d worked with previously. Based on that list, I looked online and researched service providers to find work that I liked and reflected the look I wanted. Hexagon Creative stuck out.

We started the project in June 2019 and launched the site three weeks later.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We haven’t opened our doors yet but the website’s live. Everyone says that they love the site, which also gives users an opportunity to see what we’ll offer and the overall vision of the business. The website’s modern, simple, and easy to navigate. It was easy to work with Hexagon Creative.

The engagement was virtual mostly and communication was excellent. Hexagon Creative delivered the website ahead of the deadline. Stephen responded super-fast whether it was via email or phone call. He was thorough and patient. If I have any questions or concerns, he’s quick to answer and understood the little edits or changes that I wanted. Stephen even reached out to me the other day because he wanted to add my Instagram to the website, enabling me to become more known throughout the city.

Hexagon Creative took my vision and created an amazing website with it. I’ve gotten nothing but compliments on the platform. I plan to work with them on more projects for my business.

The project for which I hired Hexagon Creative to do was to help to refine the company's logos. The goals were to steam line the letterhead logo and to create a better visual appeal of the contains the logo.

How did you select this vendor?

I selected this vendor by going through several different sites and business views to ensure I would get the best personnel for what I was looking for.

To start with several meeting by going over concepts and reviewing the simple logos in which my company had on hand. The next step they take those logs and came up with several concepts that we went back and forward on lettering, shape and coloring. In the final meeting we came to the final logo images.

The team was built of three people two brothers and there a programmer. The person I worked with was one of the owners, one of the brothers, which makes it great to see the owner have a hands-on approach to each job.

Because of the project, I was able to move forward with the trademark for the company in all 50 states and overseas.

The management of these project was direct and timely. They stayed in contact via email because it was the best way to communicate with me on a daily basis. If the meeting were to take place, it was via teams which was good for both sides due to the environment the world is in now.

I am so impressed with how they can communicate and understand the vision of a customer even when the customer has trouble expressing the full vision of their project. They had a unique way of expressing their ideas without pushing over taking over the customer's vision of what they want for the project.

Areas to improve of do differently on a project like mine i.e. logo design. I would say there is none that I came up within in the project or at the end.
