Introduce your business and what you do there.
Our business is Smartobjx and we’re a cloud-based infrastructure as a service company in regards to software, infrastructure, or middleware. We write infrastructure code for SaaS companies that helps them develop their SaaS applications faster and with more flexibility. I’m the founder and CEO as well as the chief architect
What challenge were you trying to address with Hexacta?
We began this project with the goal of finishing the design of our engine for our integrated development environment and debugging platform.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They helped us with the development and implementation of our new platform. They used Azure Visual Studio, Windows, and other standard development tools. They’ve also developed UI prototypes for a second product we’re working on as well.
What is the team composition?
We worked with three people: an architect, a developed, and a UX designer.
How did you come to work with Hexacta?
I found them through a reference, a friend of mine works with them and highly recommended them. We went through our selection process and narrowed it down to two companies before selecting them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement began in December 2019 and we’re still working together.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
So far, we’ve developed the first version of our integrated development environment, and just recently published it. We’re reviewing it today and the quality of their work so far has been fantastic. They’ve had a tremendous impact.
How did Hexacta perform from a project management standpoint?
All of the team members are very thoughtful, very engaging, collaborative, and communicative. The time zone hasn’t posed any issues because they’re nearby. We used Azure DevOps for sprint planning and tracking. Their project management has been really good. We have some special requirements regarding communication and collaboration, and they’ve been very adaptive to that. It has worked out great.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’ve excelled at everything we’ve done with them, so it’s hard to pick out one particular thing.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Not that I can think of.
The project has been successful so far. Hexacta has done top-notch work and delivered a tremendous product. The team has been flexible and adapted to their partner’s needs throughout the project. They’ve managed everything through open communication and collaborative planning.
