Please describe your company and your position there.

We are old hands in a young company and support our customers in the areas of IT security, secure software development, security requirements and security issues in general.

For what projects/services did your company hire Helpful Insight?

We asked Helpful Insight to develop a web application with php. the development is still going on as our customers are constantly expressing new wishes. From a current perspective, this will remain so for the time being.

What were your goals for this project?

The main goals are correct implementation of the requirements as this project is a very technical one. We have several test systems and quality assurance systems in use before the software goes live. Helpful Insight supports us throughout the entire software live cycle process.

Just by chance ;) We found Helpful Insight on a 3rd party webpage.

Describe the project in detail.

we are in constant contact with each other during the entire development process. your communication channels are short and unbureaucratic. Management and developers can also be reached outside working hours. the system consists of application server and database. it is scalable and processes many in the background.

What was the team composition?

the team consists of software developers. there is one main contact person. during the whole project phase there was just one change of personnel. however, the old developer is still available. i welcome it if the people and their roles in a project do not change constantly.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

quite simply the acceptance of the software solution by our customers

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

as already mentioned, the distances are short. there is a personal contact person. this makes communication easy.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

the above-average work input, the constant availability and the still high motivation especially after such a long development period

Are there any areas for improvement?

no, not currently. if something stood out during the project, it was addressed and implemented accordingly. this is also a matter of course for our business relationship.

This project was my idea which i want to convert into a website..So i am the single owner .

For what projects/services did your company hire Helpful Insight, and what were your goals?

My project was related to banking /finance service project was very much complicated . I needed to get someone who is reliable and expert developer. Also a lot of Payment Gateway API was required to be integrated. So i hired HELPFUL INSIGHT.

How did you select Helpful Insight and what were the deciding factors?

I had contacted them via their website and then we had a long discussion over calls so I could explain what exactly I was looking for. After that they had created wireframe & scope of the project. Also, did re-search on APIs. I was very happy with their homework and documentation. So I decided to go with them.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Yes, scope of the project was in very much detail. Which helps me & them to set delivery milestones. They used Laravel Framework, Mysqli DB technologies to build up the project.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There was a project manager, 2 developers, 1 designer and 1 for QA. Total around 4 people were working with me. All were very professional and expert in their work.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Outcome of the project was more than what I expected. Its very secure and standard program. They had provided me support to use system as well. They were bang on target, every weekend they had shown me updates. Project delivery was within the timeline we agreed upon.

Initial approach was email. Then we started discussing project on skype . Their proejct manager was always available to answer my queries. They used slack for tasks management and Github for project submission.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I am not very much technical person so i was concern if i will able to use system or not . But they had provided us videos and doc to make us understand how can we use the system. Their professionalism was great . I really liked it .

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the managing director of Netcorp, an IT support business. We do infrastructure support, hosting, and managed services.

What challenge were you trying to address with Helpful Insight?

Our clients came to us with a lot of web requirements like web design, web hosting, and SEO. We originally had our own developer in-house that would do the day-to-day requirements, but then WordPress came out and everything became a lot easier for clients to manage themselves and we couldn’t justify having our in-house developer. We needed a company to do ad hoc work for us.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve been doing the ad hoc work for us on an as-needed basis. This merged into the requirements of doing SEO and day-to-day maintenance of our clients’ requirements.

What is the team composition?

We work mainly with one developer. However, there are 4-5 additional people I’ve seen over the years. 

How did you come to work with Helpful Insight?

We hunted around. We tried a few different people that didn’t work out for us. Eventually, we started chatting with Helpful Insight, and we built up a relationship over the last couple of years.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend approximately $2,500–$3,000 AUD (approximately $1,763–$2,116 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2018, and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Working with them is cost-effective. I’ve been in the IT industry for over 20 years and have seen a lot of people come and go. We also have to be very sensitive around security. I must say it’s been the safest process. We slowly built up the relationship to the point where we can work with someone we trust. They get jobs done on time.

How did Helpful Insight perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve done things a little bit differently. We use a platform where you manage all your SEO projects. This helped us maintain a level of transparency. There were sometimes issues with communication, but once we get over that hurdle, things have gone smoothly. They’re usually very fast with our clients’ day-to-day requirements and change requests.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The time difference is an issue for us but that’s the case with anyone you deal with internationally. They come on board at 3:00-4:00 in the afternoon for us and sometimes I have to work with them until 10:00-11:00 at night.

In addition, I don’t think they have a ticketing system in place. It’s more of personalized service. It’s not an issue for us because we have our own tracking system but it probably would be an issue for other companies. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Get your scope of requirements before you hand the work over to them. Make sure they understand what needs to be done.

What were your goals for this project?

I wanted some providers to deliver this project from scratch to Beta release with no hassles.

The project was all about an advanced version of inventory management. It was one of the most advanced versions of this kind of software and mobile app.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Outcomes were fabulous and I was not able to believe that such wonderful quality work could be done in a single go.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was extremely effective and convinced. I liked the way they assigned and follow the TAT.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Helpful Insight people have justified the name of the company. They were always available whenever we needed them for the project. Quality is awesome.
