I’m the COO of a video game development company.

What challenge were you trying to address with HatchWorks?

We needed one of our video games to be ported to the Meta Quest 2 VR headset. We hired HatchWorks to reengineer the game to fit it for that product.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked together throughout the engagement, going from a pre-production phase to the final product. The game is a 3D puzzle game that players can manipulate in VR. HatchWorks developed the game for the headset using UNITY. 

What is the team composition?

We worked with a product manager, a few developers, porting engineers, and QA individuals. 

How did you come to work with HatchWorks?

We previously worked with an individual at HatchWorks while they were at another company.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $200,000–$1 million. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together between January–May 2023. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We don’t have any metrics at this point because we haven’t released the game yet, but they did everything we wanted them to, so we consider the engagement a success. Our internal team also tested the game, and it received high marks. The quality was extremely high, and HatchWorks went above and beyond. 

How did HatchWorks perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team stayed on time and within budget. We used email, phone calls, Slack, and video calls to communicate. 

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

We were really impressed with Chuck (Senior Client Partner). He was extremely professional and got the job done. We also appreciated his trustworthiness; we knew it was the truth when he told us something. We’d also like to shout out Claudio (LATAM General Manager); he was efficient, professional, and an outstanding communicator. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were highly impressed with their professionalism and how easy their team was to work with. The quality of work was very high, and they delivered the results we were looking for. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We think they could work on their documentation; it wasn’t bad, but if there were something to improve, that would be it. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have frequent and open lines of communication.
