What challenge were you trying to address with Halo Lab?

We needed support in designing and developing our new website. We also needed support in designing a leadership self-assessment app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Halo Lab designed and developed our new website. We had built a new brand separately and brought it to them. The team implemented our new brand in the design and development of the new website. We provided them with our branding book so they could build the website around it. 

Halo Lab underwent an assessment process in which they researched our brand and competitors. Based on that, they made a series of recommendations. Then, they created a mock-up and began building the website page by page. The team used a similar process for the app.

The app was available for iOS and Android, and also included a web app. To be clear, the team only designed the app; they didn’t develop it. Meanwhile, we wanted to focus attention on our people and reviews. When users came to the website, they could dynamically click on reviews. We also have a wheel model — as users scrolled down, the wheel moved on its own.

We worked with a project manager, designers, developers, a finance operations associate, and the COO.

I found them on Google and used Clutch to review them.

We spent around $25,000.

The project lasted from July–November 2025.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We launched the website only recently, so we don’t have any metrics yet. However, Halo Lab’s work exceeded our expectations. The aesthetic and brand implementation were fantastic. It was a lovely experience.

How did Halo Lab perform from a project management standpoint?

Halo Lab’s project management was excellent. They delivered the work on time and on budget. We had constant communication. We used Figma the entire time. The team used Notion for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Halo Lab’s creativity and execution were impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re a Ukraine-based organization, but their website doesn’t provide a sense of who the people there are. When you’re in the US, you’re worried about being protected under American laws. Halo Lab is registered in Andorra, which is not an independent country. All of that adds to the complexities of engaging with them. They would benefit from figuring out how to be registered in the US or being more transparent about what kind of agency they’re running, so people feel more at ease investing with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have as much clarity as possible about how you want your brand to look and feel, and what you want your users to feel and do when they engage with your product.

After, we were assigned a new project manager for the software UI/UX customization who was more specialized in product development. He was super collaborative by providing great insights/suggestions on our product, overcoming customization constraints successfully, and communicating directly with the software team.

Halo recreated our existing another portal with a completely new experience and interface that is much more modern and beautiful, greatly increasing usability and delight for the end user. We had about 100 different screens and variations to design, and Halo partnered with us with expert visual design and usability recommendations.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Halo developed our new donor portal in Figma after performing hours of research, competitive analysis, wireframing and more, which all led to over 100 new screens of beautiful UX/UI work. The end result was a Figma file and prototype with all the assets and instructions our team needed to code the site.

Halo was terrific with their project and time management. We worked with them daily via Slack and Figma comments. Often, we left requests, dreams, and edits by end of day and woke up the next morning to find most everything done or in process. It was fun going through such a creative partner who added so much expertise and value to the work product. 

Sometimes we asked for things that weren't the best idea, and the Halo team carefully gave us rationale and other options to achieve the same goals. But they also didn't force their opinions on us. In the end, it was our final product, and they deferred to us for final decisions.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Halo's deep expertise in UX/UI was evident throughout the project, and their consistency was key: once we made an important UI decision, they meticulously applied it to all screens nicely. As well, Halo was super flexible. We didn't love some of their initial designs, but we worked collaboratively to dream and look at other great examples from around the web, and then Halo's rounds 2, 3,+ were awesome designs. 

Plus, Halo Lab keeps pivoting based on new ideas and brainstorms that we have throughout the project. Numerous times we asked if they could do a sidebar to explore a new direction, and they handled it all beautifully.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Halo Lab could have done differently?

Our only improvement area for Halo would be clearer communications. Because we were in the U.S. and Halo is in Ukraine, occasionally there were language or clarity gaps. But it was nothing big or too difficult to overcome.

They exhibited strong communication skills, reaching out to my team and me multiple times a day to provide updates and discuss ongoing work. Their proactive and clear communication, coupled with their meticulous use of a task tracking document, ensured we were always aware of the status of all active projects and deliverables.

The task tracking document proved invaluable, providing a real-time view of tasks' progress, prioritization, and deadlines, which I found very useful in communicating effectively with my executive team about what Halo Lab was working on.

I had the pleasure of partnering with HaloLab on a project to design new logos and revamp our websites, and I must say it has been an incredible experience. Konstantin, the Project Manager, has been a fantastic partner throughout the entire journey, ensuring that our vision and requirements are met. HaloLab's team, led by Konstantin, has shown great dedication to understanding our needs and translating them into outstanding designs. 

The logos they have crafted are exceptional - simple, clean, and perfectly capturing our brand's essence. While the logos and websites are yet to be launched, we anticipate that they will make a significant impact and elevate our brand identity. The website designs created by HaloLab are absolutely stunning. Their attention to detail, modern aesthetics, and professionalism are evident in every aspect of the designs. 

However, since the websites have not been launched, we cannot provide accurate measurements of progress or success at this moment. Throughout the project, Konstantin's effective project management skills have been evident. He has maintained clear communication, provided timely updates, and incorporated our feedback, ensuring that the project stays on track. 

The iterative process has allowed us to refine the designs, demonstrating HaloLab's commitment to delivering the best results. While we cannot provide measurable outcomes yet, such as website traffic or conversion rates, due to the websites and logos not being launched, we have full confidence that HaloLab's work will drive progress and success for our company.
