Introduce your business and what you do there.

I was the owner of Tee Talent Apparel, a small promotional company based in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. The company was absorbed by another company, so it no longer exists.

What challenge were you trying to address with Hafferi?

At the time, we were trying to establish an online presence, as everything is now online. 

We were trying to reach people in specific segments, such as companies that support social responsibility. Our company was founded and operated by individuals with disabilities, and we wanted to have this presence online so people would be able to find us. That’s why we reached out to hafferi. 

What was the scope of their involvement?

After we developed the website, hafferi led a consultation regarding SEO. They did keyword research and used Google tools to see our website’s performance and speed, and whether they were improving. That was the main part of the project. 

The other task was building organic traffic to our website. We prepared blog posts and things that they recommended. There were also tasks related to our social media and the type of content we’d create for it. 

What is the team composition?

We just worked with one person because hafferi is a one-man show. He’s the owner of the company.

How did you come to work with Hafferi?

Our budget was very limited, and hafferi was just starting their business. We told hafferi we’d like to see what they could do for us with the amount of money that we had

He offered his support. The things he got done for us would’ve typically been way more expensive than the amount we paid. He has a focus on social enterprise and not-for-profit companies, so it was also an opportunity for him to have another client on his portfolio. It was an investment for him.

I would say we chose him because of his experience — not as from hafferi, but as a professional working for other companies — as well as the budget.

How much have you invested with them?

It was around $1,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

I believe the project began in October 2017, and it took them about a month or two to finish it.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We had a significant increase in our traffic. We saw a 60% increase in the number of people reaching out to us.

How did hafferi perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything was fine. We communicated by email or video. The company never delayed anything, so we were very happy with the job. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate the fact that sometimes he would reach out to us, even when we weren’t requesting anything. He checked to see if everything was going fine or shared articles that were related to what we do to see if we were going in the right direction — not from a marketing point of view, but from our business’ perspective.

This personal touch was very good; we had someone really concerned about our success because he knew that our success would obviously be his success as a company.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think only time will tell. They’re a small agency, and they worked really well for us. I don’t think there was anything that could be improved. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re looking for someone who really cares about your business and wants to see you succeed, haferri is an amazing option because of their personal touch. There are so many alternatives out there in terms of marketing agencies, and to them, you’re just another client.

Because hafferi is small, I think it’s nice to have someone going beyond what they were hired for; they really care about your success. The way they act is very genuine.
