Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the co-founder and President of the Joshua Frase Foundation (JFF). Our foundation has been forging a path in regenerative medicine for a rare and fatal neuromuscular disorder in children. JFF’s mission is twofold: To find a cure or treatment for centronuclear and myotubular myopathies and to support families whose lives are affected by this disorder.

Translation of an International Registry for families affected by this into six languages. Translation of a 100 page medical care guidelines used for affected patients and families.

An International Family Registry for Centronuclear and Myotubular Myopathies was translated into five languages. The translation had to meet the approval of two PI's working on an institutional level. Quality and most competitive rates.

I'm the publications specialist at an RV manufacturing company.

What challenge were you trying to address with GTS Translation?

We needed to translate some of our RV manuals from English to French Canadian.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

GTS Translation translated some of our RV manuals, ranging from 160–220 pages, from English to French Canadian. We provided the files to them in InDesign, and they returned them in the same format. 

What is the team composition? 

I only worked directly with one person managing the project.

How did you come to work with GTS Translation?

I found them online and decided to work with them based on their positive reviews, responsiveness, and pricing compared to others. 

How much have you invested with them?

We invested a little under $25,000 CAD (about $19,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from December 2018–March 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The first book GTS Translation completed was sent to one of our Canadian dealers to verify the quality of the text. Once we were given the green light from them, we proceeded with the rest of the translations, which have now all been out for a couple of months. We haven't heard back any negative feedback, so we're assuming the translations were done well. 

How did GTS Translation perform from a project management standpoint?

As far as uploading files and getting quotes back from their team initially, they were incredibly fast. They were also the most responsive out of all the vendors we considered working with. Although their layouts in InDesign required fixing, they did a great job of turning around the translations on a tight deadline. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

It was my first experience working with a translation company, but out of all the vendors we considered, they were the quickest to provide a quote and the most competitively priced. Their turnaround times were also up to twice as fast as others.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really. There were a couple of times when they missed some text, but they were very responsive and proactive about fixing it. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to get all questions answered up front, so they're able to manage expectations.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a division research coordinator for NYULH. I oversee the initiation/closing of clinical trials, as well as, making sure all of our regulatory documents are stored correctly and up to date.

For what projects/services did your company hire GTS Translation, and what were your goals?

Clinical trials involve consenting patients. We have a large range of patients whom speak a host of different languages. For this project specifically, we made changes to two of our ENG consents and needed them translated into the Spanish and Chinese language.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

GTS was selected prior to my onboarding. I do believe it is one of the fastest companies I have worked with.

I was in charge of forwarding the English versions which had already been approved by our IRB. Once the translation was complete, I was sent the revisions along with the certificate of translation.

What was their cost structure like?

I believe they based their cost on word count and also amount of changes.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

They translated two of our twelve page consents.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They really have a good response time. The person who I have worked with for the past several months, David, is always very attentive and willing to answer any questions. I cannot forget to mention their turnaround time on projects. I don't think I have had to wait more than a few days to receive our translations.

How did you select GTS Translation?

Research

Describe the project in detail and what their cost structure looked like.

We utilize their translation services to translate our brochures into 15 languages, and deliver content that we push into international markets. Many of our articles contains country-specific and healthcare information difficult to translate.

The company GTS Translations provides us with professional translators in the languages we needed in a timely manner. The 15 languages translations included also non latin origin languages i.e.: Arabic, German, Hebrew, Russian and Hindi (in addition to Italian, Portugues, Spanish, etc).

How would you describe/assess the quality of their work?

Their work is well woth the cost and has allowed the Global Liver Institute to reach more than 300 M people globally in nearly 30 Countries and all Continents.

What impressed you about their services?

Speed and quality are their strenghts. They do a great job retaining most of times the intent and the voice of the writer. They are always on time with their deliverables and they quickly respond to our questions. They

Perhaps, they could refine the final work a bit more but they offer to have the translations reviewed by native speakers in order to have a final perfect result.

We have had multiple user guides and website fields translated. The cost structure was a simple quote that was broken out in a per word price for each language.
