Growth Division have delivered demonstrable growth in customer engagement across all channels:
GD very quickly moved our website and content to a new optimised platform that resulted in a flow of leads through our website - a first for ElectrAssure! Website visitors increased dramatically and visitors could be identified through a new link to our CRM system.
LinkedIn contacts for ElectrAssure's and key personnel's profiles have rapidly increased through GD's direct outreach programme and our influence and engagement developed with regular engaging, well written posts.
Open rates for our email newsletter have grown significantly by GD carefully developing the format and selecting high quality content.
For the first time ElectrAssure is generating awareness, engagement and leads through GD's expert management of our ongoing Google Ads campaign.
Evidence of this success is presented at weekly virtual meetings with GD with detailed reviews, refinement and qualification of content, engagement and leads for each channel strategy.

Growth Division took the time to understand our business' unique requirements and proposed a customized & thoughtful marketing strategy inkeeping with our goals and budget before we even hired them
GD's team setup of fractional channel experts and a fractional CMO managing them allowed us to tap into deep expertise at a tight budget, which would have been otherwise challenging for an early stage startup like ours
GD's capabilities expand beyond that of a traditional marketing agency, which meant we were able to consolidate some of our Sales functions, as well as more strategic work like nailing the ICP and our product's value prop with GD. I didn't see any other agency offering similar breadth of capabilities
GD channel experts shared status updates through short Loom videos periodically, which simplified communication across time zones

After building our MVP we needed to test it with the market. The product focuses on helping property buyers and sellers, but for the first iteration we focused on buyers. We also were intending on engaging with Estate Agents, as this seemed an ideal way to acquire buyers and sellers on an ongoing basis. We initially just focused on buyers with GrowthDivision though. We wanted to learn what messaging worked the best, and whether we could get a reasonable CPA.
GrowthDivision effectively gathered what the constraints were for our business and target market and put together a solid strategy for us to work from. Their growth strategist then worked with us to put together Personas and different experiments to run.
We consistently improved on previous months and learnt a lot about our target market, often behaving differently to how we expected. One channel proved to not be very effective but GrowthDivision were very accommodating and adjusted to direct outreach to Estate Agents, testing another possible avenue for acquiring customers

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
They set up two effective marketing channels.
Social Media Marketing - We managed to get a CPA of £50 but this was while still experiment so it's an upper threshold and was better than we expected at this stage.
Email automation - We also set up automated marketing based on user behaviour and a newsletter. The automated marketing really improved engagement with the product and encouraged users to get further down the funnel. The newsletter wasn't that effective but they were great and adjusted to fit the business needs We onboarded 150 users and had fairly good conversion from our landing pages.

They worked well to the timeframes and adjusted as we needed when certain elements were delayed. They also changed the channels when they saw one direction wasn't as effective

I think it's very hard to find a marketing agency that is willing to help strategise the experimentation required in marketing. Most are competent at putting ads live and providing the metric but Growth Division put the effort in to determine what ads were going to be most effective and adjusted as they learned more. They also price the offering well for different types of clients and stages of startups

They could occasionally be more proactive in changing course when a channel doesn't look like it's going to work well, but they were very accommodating and quick to adjust if you raise it as a concern.

I'm the international expansion manager at a French B2B payment platform. Libeo brings together a community of companies that allows Small and Medium-Sized businesses’ managers, financial directors and accountants to centralise their invoices, pay and get paid in a simple way, in one click and without changing their bank account. The solution synchronises with most accounting software and banks on the market. Over 150,000 businesses have joined Libeo to pay and get paid.

We needed to kick-start the UK market at the beginning of 2022. But with a mostly French team at the time, we needed insights from people in the UK. GD filled this role perfectly, as we got to work with multiple different agencies with different points of view & feedback.

Generally, GD made our GTM smoother with multiple teams working with us to define the market fit and our market expansion. They ran experiments and tested different outreach messaging, ICPs, keywords, ad copies, ad creatives, and bid strategies, learning what worked and what didn't and optimising our campaigns accordingly to improve results.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Fiona, our growth strategist, is great at coordinating all the different teams we were working with, especially in the beginning when we were still defining the services we needed. The whole team was open to feedback and adapted to our internal processes.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We spoke to a few different growth agencies and GD stood out immediately from the sales process, led by Tristan and Tom. They were thoughtful, attentive, and demonstrated expertise from the first meeting, helping to brainstorm growth channels based on the Bullseye framework.
They listened to all of our concerns and questions and had an informed perspective on each. We've worked with an agency previously who was completely unrealistic about what they could deliver, oversold us, and ultimately ended up underdelivering.
The GD team were realistic while also ambitious, skilled and experienced, and most importantly honest and transparent about where they thought they could add value. All of these ingredients were really important to us in making the decision of deciding to work with GD.
We wanted an extension of our team in a growth agency, and that's exactly what we found in GD.

To kick off, we worked with our growth strategist, Tom Hurst who put together a comprehensive strategy of how we would go to market - complete with ICPs, messaging, and OKRs for each growth channel. It was immediately apparent that Tom was an expert in finding scalable channels to market for startups like ours and would be an asset to our team.
This has continued throughout the partnership and he continue to deliver novel insights, ideas for campaigns and channels to try, and introduce us to people on the GD team who might be able to support. Next, Michael Soselia and Jonny Hughes worked to set up our analytics and tracking, which was previously messily organized in Hubspot.
They were able to consolidate and simplify our tracking and enable much better conversion attribution via Google Tag Manager, untangling the mess that we had made previously, which set us up for success. Then we worked with Jon Cottrell and Alex Dawson, two growth experts in PPC and direct outreach, respectively.
We met with each of them and developed detailed strategies and plans for how to maximise the impact of each channel. Jon gave us brilliant advice on how to structure and target our ads for maximum impact, and rebuilt our entire Google ads account from scratch, with much better organisation and attribution, and optimised copy / CTAs. He regularly supported with requests for analytics on our keywords and ad performance, and stays ahead of any issues by regularly diving into our CPC, CTR and CAC data to allocate spend to campaigns that are performing best.
Alex created a cadence and sequence of direct outreach emails and messages to engage our audience. He had super sharp insights about which personas to target and how, and how to tailor our copy to get the maximum number of responses and meetings. He built high-quality lead lists and templates with for various response scenarios.
Once launched, he regularly listened to feedback and anticipated needs before we had them (e.g. running out of leads, chasing unresponsive contacts, etc.). Jadene Hendricks-Small on his team has gone above and beyond in supporting on our campaigns, responding to a large volume of messages and scheduling requests, and proactively following up with prospects that were unresponsive.
Everything is tracked meticulously in a dashboard that gives us full visibility on how our campaigns are performing far more detail than we would be able to collect and put into action on our own. Finally, Tom Hurst met with myself to devise a strategy for referral campaigns, researching various options and tools, and recommending and then implementing an active users and “friends of” campaign.
Despite limited product/technical resources that we could devote internally to this project, Tom was extremely resourceful in finding alternate tools and “80/20” ways we could create the same outcome much more quickly and with lower overhead. Once everything was setup after a few weeks, we launched all channels and started tracking results, checking in regularly on progress and performance.

Results so far (first 3 months from March - June): 100+ demo meetings booked from direct outreach (over 30 per month), thanks to Alex and Jae's excellent work 8% CTR on Google ads and low cost per conversion, with Jon's expertise on PPC 14 closed won new customers + 1 partnership to date
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Outstanding - our wonderful growth strategist Tom has been highly proactive and communicative - we have monthly reviews and regular calls in between to catch up on strategy and bounce around ideas. Through our shared Slack channel we are in communication almost daily and benefit enormously from the close-knit collaboration.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The breadth and depth of experience on their team - we've met and worked with probably 10+ of the GD team at this point and they are all top of their game in their respective fields. This means that they not only execute on our goals but also bring hugely valuable insights and perspectives to our campaigns, that we wouldn't have thought of.
This is a killer combo and means they add value at every turn. They're generous with their time and efforts, and treat their clients like they're a part of the family. One example is how Stephen Johnson, their LinkedIn expert, kindly offered an hour of time for free to help me set up LinkedIn ads from scratch on my own, despite me not "technically" being a client of his.
I learned more in that one hour than I could have in hours of self-learning. So thank you!!
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Perhaps simplifying their pricing, as it can sometimes get confusing with each channel having a different cost structure, although I understand why they do! It would just be easier to budget if there were a fixed monthly fee per channel.
