Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the VP Controller at Excelsior Capital, a private equity commercial real estate company. We deal in investment opportunities in the office space world. Our team raises money to go out and buy office properties and then do all of the asset management involved.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with GoHooper Web Design?

We are a split-off of a current company and we wanted to get up and running with a website pretty quickly. In some sense, we’re a startup because we are just now rebranding and we wanted a site to push forward that new brand. We wanted the site to be simple and informative so that potential investors would know exactly where to go.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

GoHooper Web Design developed and designed a website completely from scratch. We had already created a logo and came up with a name so we just turned them loose on the website. They were willing to listen to everything that we wanted for the website, which is important because there are lots of limitations in our industry.

Our site didn’t require too much functionality, and they didn’t try to upsell us. The site displays the properties that we’re involved with, the management team, and a bit about us and our story. Our site uses a Juniper Square CRM, which allows our investors to log in on their side. They go in and update and keep track of the website.

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with John (Founder & CEO, GoHooper Web Design), who spearheaded our project.

How did you come to work with GoHooper Web Design?

They did a website for a similar sister company back in 2012 and the owners of that were really pleased with it. We have mutual connections with them, and they suggested GoHooper Web Design. We looked into a couple of other web design firms, but it felt like everywhere else was trying to sell us on things we didn’t need and not listening to the fact that we didn’t need as much functionality. John and his team really listened to us and provided us what we asked for at a great price.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $2,500 on the website and a $50 monthly maintenance fee.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement with GoHooper Web Design began in June 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

My team is highly pleased with the results. I’d give it a 10/10. I am looking forward to continuing our monthly relationship with GoHooper Web Design. They got our site up and running right when we needed to. We discussed the timeline early on and we’re super appreciative of them sticking to the schedule.

How did GoHooper Web Design perform from a project management standpoint?

We primarily communicated over email, especially as we were getting into edits. Around the last two weeks of the project, I’ve had a lot of phone calls with John to make sure we were being as efficient as possible. We’re really pleased with their communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team stood out because they listened to what we were looking for. They never tried to sell us on things we didn’t need. I’m sure John and his team could have made us a fancy website, they’re very talented. It meant a lot to us that they took what we needed into account and gave us an extremely reasonable price.

No, they did a great job.

To begin the project, GoHooper Web Design researched our company and field to better understand our product. They also compared our solution to offers from other providers. After having a full grasp on the material, they helped us formulate a way to convey our business to the average consumer. Their team manages our social media accounts and consults us on the best approach for each medium, including posting strategies and online marketing.

From there, GoHooper Web Design developed our website using WordPress. They built graphics for the platform and implemented SEO techniques to the site. This process included requesting user testimonials, performing market research, and developing a list of keywords based on that information. The keywords and content on the site are all related to our mission of educating visitors about our place in the industry.  

What is the team composition?

Though there are several teammates from the SEO, programming, and marketing departments, we’ve also been in contact with the owner.

We searched for companies online and looked at their past work. GoHooper Web Design had a proven record of creating professional websites. Additionally, we were swayed by the fact that they were local to us, so it was an easy decision.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

They designed, developed, and coded our website. I gave them our content, and they offered great ideas. Their full-service digital agency did studio video production with their talent. They even had their talent put on shirts with our logo. Their marketing team still delivers our web and social media branding.

What was the team composition?

The project team included about eight members, from graphic designers and web developers to videographers. Everyone worked together to complete our project.

GoHooper delivered a website beyond our expectations! We've had a great experience. Leads are already coming in, and we expect to be in full profit mode by the end of the year.

GoHooper's project management is second to none. The team is just over a dozen strong, but they move like a single unit. I love that I can always talk to their CEO.
