I’m a sales representative with Waste Connections of Colorado. We’re a national trash and recycling hauler based in Denver.

What challenge were you trying to address with Global Social Media Marketing?

When I got to the company, I realized that we had a gaping hole in our social media and digital marketing outreach. We needed to expand on those digital services to expand our brand in Colorado.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Global Social Media Marketing analyzed our market, marketing strategies, and our competitors' marketing strategies. Then, they helped us to implement a marketing strategy. Their team focused on Google, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. We've boiled it down to Facebook now, but we’re still doing video marketing.

Benjamin (CEO) is also a resource on our corporate level. After working together for over six months, he’s become a sounding board for their questions. He works to make improvements around the country.

How did you come to work with Global Social Media Marketing?

I met Benjamin, who’s the founder of Global Social Media Marketing, at a marketing event. We started talking and I’d never met anyone more knowledgeable about these platforms. His experience training individuals to use social media platforms was attractive too. We liked the idea that he could help us bring up our internal commitment to social media and teach us how to use it better. Their services were also low cost. We were able to decide if we wanted to continue to work with them after the market analysis, which showed their company’s character. They were committed to doing a good job for their clients.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend around $2,000 a month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them around April 2019 and we renewed the engagement for a three-month contract.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Through our first six-month contract, we grew from around 100–200 followers on Facebook to close to 6,000 followers. We also developed good ads on Facebook. They showed us the value of these services, which is an important result.

How did Global Social Media Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

In the beginning, it took us time to get on the same page about communication. We were able to get shared drives together and made sure that his team used them. We also made the expectation that the person who managed our Facebook account sent us communications every Monday.

Their team’s responsive and gives us an analysis of all of our marketing campaigns. They give us reports on a monthly basis. Their team shows us on a larger scale that there’s a value from investing in these platforms. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their reporting is a major strength. They’re clear in their reports, which show us the value of their services. In those reports, their team looks at ways for us to improve. What really impressed me was their experience in training people on these platforms. Their team worked to get us to a position where we can manage them. They don’t try to hold onto a contract.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They hire college students or graduate students to manage the accounts on a weekly basis. It was a bit of a struggle to find good ways to communicate with them and to make sure the expectations for communication were clear. While Benjamin understands our business, it feels that that isn’t necessarily communicated with the account managers.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure that your communication plans are laid out clearly. They’re a proactive team, so make sure that you have the time to give them resources. Work with them to make sure that they’re a success.

I hired them to help generate more leads that would convert into more clients. Since I’m in the speaking and training business, I was specifically hoping to get more speaking gigs.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We needed an overall go-to-market strategy, so they helped with a lot of different tasks. They’ve run social media and Google strategies both for organic and paid efforts. We collaborate on keyword research and audience targeting. 

For a few of the PPC ads, they create the content from scratch. SEO efforts are run by their team, as well. They also help write and code our website.

I was looking for a team to hire when Benjamin (CEO) created his own company, so I chose him for the project.

We’ve spent around $35,000 on their services.

We started working together in June 2019 and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Shortly after starting working with them, I signed a $20,000 client. We’ve gone from receiving no traffic to seeing between 10–15 leads per month. Our organic search placement has increased markedly, too. 

How did Global Social Media Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve done incredibly well. We always know what they’re going to do and it’s done on time. Clear communication from them is great and they always deliver on what they promise. We have weekly meetings and they provide an email and presentation on their progress. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their passion for delivering results is great—they’re always focused on what matters most which is the client. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing they could improve and I recommend them all the time. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Anyone working on their online marketing wants to see results within 30 or 60 days, but you can’t always expect revenue growth for closer to 90 or 100 days. I’d suggest being patient with the process.
