MVM has created a platform that allows us to operate in the Mexican wholesale market. We use it to manage everything related to supplies and the electrical centers wanting to sell to the market. This commercial platform also has a module that lets us see market analytics.

Moreover, MVM and our company have a software services contract, so they manage everything from security to hosting. The platform is hosted on Microsoft’s cloud services.

We work directly with two people from MVM.

We did in-depth research about our options. MVM had the most interesting and comprehensive platform. For context, we started with a list of eight companies; we shortlisted three of them and then chose MVM. The key criteria for our decision included their market knowledge — they had good developers with extensive knowledge of our market's norms, changes, and needs.

We’ve spent about $1 million.

Our partnership started in November 2017, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The platform has helped us increase the number of our clients without having to grow our administrative area. All of our processes are automated, and everything is cloud-based. This makes it easier for our team to incorporate clients directly into our platform.

How did MVM SOFTWARE ENGINEERING perform from a project management standpoint?

MVM’s project management approach is rigorous, and their expertise makes it easier for us to organize the project and follow them through the process. Moreover, their initial training has been great from a technical and personal perspective. We’ve had a user training phase, which has enabled us to transition smoothly to the platform. To communicate, we mainly use phone calls and WhatsApp; we conduct weekly or biweekly calls for updates and follow-ups. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team has done everything well. Our platform is highly flexible, and that’s our advantage against our competitors. The same is true for its analytical power — for example, we currently have the best content to help our clients present relevant analytics to help them increase their energy efficiency.

No, there aren’t any. We’re satisfied with their work.

We started the project in December 2019 and finished it in July 2022. However, we're still in contact.

They understood our focus and were able to get more value, incorporate some automation, and bring a better experience. Thanks to them, we’ve increased our sales by around 300%.

Project management was good. They met deadlines and stuck within the budget. Sometimes they delivered ahead of schedule, and they were flexible and responsive. We mainly communicated through WhatsApp and face-to-face meetings.

They understood what we did and were engaged with our clients. From that, we were able to build what we needed.

I’m the executive director of CIDET, an IT development center specializing in the electric sector.

What challenges were you trying to address with MVM SOFTWARE ENGINEERING?

We needed help with developing a web app. We initially started this project with a multinational company but had a bad experience working with them. Hence, we looked for a local service provider and resumed the project with MVM SOFTWARE ENGINEERING.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started off by evaluating the current state of the project, and the work that the other service provider had previously done; we saw that only 35% of the project was completed. From there, MVM SOFTWARE ENGINEERING took over the project. They’re continuously building out the architecture of the web app using these key technologies: MySQL, React, and Azure. The app we’re building functions as a marketplace and website that allows users to request certification processes.

We work with three people from their side: a developer, an architecture expert, and a project manager.

We started working with them in April 2021, and it is an ongoing collaboration.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We are very happy with MVM SOFTWARE ENGINEERING’s work. We feel calm and confident working with them because they provide us with constant support — they’re always making sure that the project is moving forward. We also have a work plan based on user stories and sprints, and they’ve submitted all deliverables on time. 

How did MVM SOFTWARE ENGINEERING perform from a project management standpoint?

We haven’t had any issues in this regard. We have weekly follow-up meetings and haven’t had any hiccups in terms of deadlines and deliverables. For communication, we use Zoom and email. The overall communication has been fluid as well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their transparency and knowledge of the electric sector are impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I know they have had issues finding new developers, but other than that, I honestly can’t think of anything else.

DevOps strategy materialization service from the execution of consultative and implementation activities that enable the use of the practices of this strategy in a set of applications selected as part of the service, which allow to demonstrate the value that can be received through through this. The phases were materialization of the strategy, automation of deployments and tests, definition of governance and guidelines, and operation service of the DevOps platform.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• The implementation of Azure DevOps as a work tool for the development team was achieved. The deployment in Azure of pilot projects that had been defined for this project was achieved. It was possible to define the DevOps practices so that they were executed by the entire work team.

There was a permanent control of the project, the deliverables were controlled both in terms of opportunity and quality, meeting our needs and expectations as a client.

More than 23,000 point-of-sale sites guaranteed their operation, increased satisfaction levels, the rating went from 70% to 95%, increased revenue from implementation services and management of incidents and problems by more than 20%.

The human quality of its partners and employees in general. And they displayed high levels of knowledge and good industry practices.

This project was continuously monitored, and aspects for improvement were reviewed all the time, which made it possible not to leave aspects for later.

For what projects/services did your company hire MVM SOFTWARE ENGINEERING, and what were your goals?

For the support of commercial management in the qualified energy market in Mexico, which includes the management of energy sales contracts for qualified users, constant interaction with the Market Operator and Administrator and the analysis of sector variables, to through the MVM Energy Suite platform, available in the Cloud.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

A market exploration was carried out to find the best solution that would allow responding to the business requirements, the regulatory demands and those of the entities that operate and manage the energy sector in Mexico. We found in MVM the best alternative because the platform is focused specifically on what the Mexican Market needs, it is not an adaptation of another market, the solution is developed for ours.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

It was a project to implement the MVM Energy Suite platform to support the commercial management of our company. The process steps were as follows:

1. Preparation of the environment: included the technical preparation of the Cloud infrastructure for access to the platform by the company's users
2. Context evaluation: the necessary information was collected to configure the platform, upload the necessary information, carry out tests in accordance with the reality of our operation, identify and close gaps between the platform and our needs, train the Operations Team and put the solution into production.
3. Parameterization of the platform, based on the information obtained, which included the migration of some historical data. 
4. User training, to properly train them in handling the solution
5. Tests and parallel to guarantee the results of the process and refine the necessary points
6. Start-up of production, with which real support began to be given to the commercial management of the business
7. Operation and Support: permanent use of the solution and support through the team designated by MVM for this purpose

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Because it is a service, it was not relevant to know the entire work team of the provider. However, we met two Business Specialists, focused on the evaluation of the context, platform parameterization and staff training. Four people from the development team and four people from the Support Team. Can you share any results of the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The first of the most relevant results for the Organization is the timeliness and completeness of the documents generated and received in relation to the Market Operator and Administrator, since this guarantees the income and financial health of the Organization from the point of view of of commercial transactions with the Market. This is always up to date, compliance is 100%. The second is the precision in the calculation and collection of energy sales contracts, which is achieved with MVM Energy Suite.

There was always good communication, disposition, good relationship between the Work Teams. This led to a successful result in the implementation process of the Platform and the subsequent support and evolution.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Its extensive knowledge of the market, the precise adjustment to the needs of current regulations that is reflected in the platform. I've been satisfied with their service-focused attitude and willingness to attend to requests and recommendations.

They have really worked hard with rc, we are very happy.
