Introduce your business and what you do there
I am the general manager of a technology solutions company for the parking segment.
What challenge were you trying to address with Gitz?
They developed a platform for parking control in streets. The name is OnStreet.
What was the scope of their involvement?
This is a hybrid web and Android mobile application. They both work together. They used Ruby on Rails and a database for the web app and Java for the mobile application in Android.
What is the team dynamic?
They assigned two developers to this mobile app development project.
How did you come to work with Gitz?
I met them because we work in the same coworking space. I decided to start working with them because they gave me a complete proposal. Commercially speaking, they had one of the best prices.
How much have you invested with Gitz?
We've invested $20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working in March 2015 and the first phase was completed. We've iterated and added functionalities to the applications.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
In terms of clients or users point of view, it has been well received. The app is self-explanatory and it has great usability. The mobile app development was basic programming. It only takes a minute to learn about it and use it.
How did Gitz perform from a project management standpoint?
This was one of their weakest points. There were some delays in deliveries. Advances in the development were not so clear. We had meetings in person because we are physically close. Sometimes we use Skype also.
What did you find most impressive about Gitz?
The development structure of the web app was well thought to be able to scale it. We've grown 50 times more in users and transactions than we were expecting. It wasn't a problem for the platform for this requirement. They thought well about its scalability. The usability, user experience design to the end client were well-thought. They were proactive about proposing different ways of doing things. Sometimes their design was way better than what we had initially thought or decided to do.
Are there any areas Gitz could improve?
Nothing comes to mind.
The street parking application scaled to 50 times the expected users and transactions. Gitz's user experience design and functionalities were well-thought for scalability. They continue iterating and adding new features.
