Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO and founder of a driver safety app.
What challenge were you trying to address with geniuneq?
I started creating a brand during an accelerator startup for which I subscribed. I had an idea, and once I subscribed to that accelerator, it took a bit of time until it was launched because of the pandemic.
The accelerator was split into three modules happening over the course of three days. There was one month between them, with a demo date scheduled after those. After the first module, I basically went there with a concept and a draft sketch of ideas. I realized I’d need a bit more.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I asked them for a landing page and an app that could be published for both the Apple Store and Google Play.
I had 2 or 3 calls with them before this, trying to describe what the purpose of the company is and what I’m trying to build. We exchanged a couple of ideas, and after the first module of the accelerator, when it was a bit clearer to me of what I needed for the demo day, I decided to conclude with them in an engagement that would end up with a landing page and an MVP that could be published in both stores.
Since the time constraint was a bit rough and the Apple publishing cycle was taking a bit longer, we had an AFK file for the Android system by the first of October. I could showcase that during the accelerator.
What is the team composition?
I worked with Cosmin (Founder & Custom Digital Solutions Provider) and Cristina (Co-Founder & Managing Partner).
How did you come to work with genuineq?
They were in partnership with the accelerator. I quickly turned to them, and we very quickly managed to get to an agreement and pursue what would be the production of an MVP I could showcase by demo day.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested between $6,000–$7,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in August 2020, and the working prototype was delivered by October 1st. The rest of the development and official publishment of the app, together with the other bug fixes and full dependencies materials ready by mid-December 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We made the budget and the time, which was the most important thing. They made the whole app, landing page, and identity of the website. I’m very satisfied with it, and they’ve done an excellent job.
I haven’t engaged with them for the next phase yet, but I’m very open to discussions with them. They’ve done a very good job with the MVP, and I’ll probably continue with them further.
How did geniuneq perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management style is excellent. Communication was smooth and excellent. We had our own WhatsApp group. I was able to communicate with them very easily. I trusted them with a number of credentials, and I’m perfectly satisfied.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their team delivers enterprise grade quality for a regular commercial market price. They offer very good quality.
Are there any areas they could improve?
For more complex projects, they could have some regular meetings, have specific timeslots, and a very accurate project plan will definitely favor them and the client.
The concept we had together was a very low complexity. We didn’t need it for this type of project. I’m quite sure that they’re following more complex procedures whenever there’s more work to be done.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be very specific on what you’re trying to achieve. As long as you keep it very simple and explain everything very clear, that will get you very quickly from point A to point B.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the project manager at a Finnish Teacher Training Centre. It’s purpose is to provide continuous development for teachers in both public and private sectors in Romania.
What challenge were you trying to address with genuineq?
Based on a sponsor and grant we received, we agreed to create a platform that would bring together the schools, affiliated teachers, and training suppliers in the market. The teachers can set objectives at the beginning of the year and create learning plans. The schools can manage their training budgets and assign courses to each of the teachers affiliated with that school. We needed help with software development.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They took the concept and created something tangible. Teachers will be able to log into the platform, set their contact details, address, profile picture, etc. Then, they’ll be able to create a learning plan, which is basically a timeline composed of courses, dragging and dropping them from the catalog into the timeline. The teachers will then start a dialogue through the platform with the school to request these courses. The schools can reply on the platform via notifications and moving courses from one state to another, depending on whether they approved or declined the plan.
It uses the October CMS, and, at this point, genuine is implementing the cybersecurity and data protection input we received from a sponsor who is testing the platform.
What is the team composition?
There are two people that we’ve kept in contact with from the time we received the offer up until now. There’s also been a developer and a managing partner involved.
How did you come to work with genuineq?
We sent out an offer request and received several offers from suppliers in Romania. We chose genuineq because of their agile working method and price. We also heard great things about them. They were recommended by someone we worked with in Romania.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent €20,000 euros (approximately $23,700 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2020, and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The platform hasn’t gone live yet. We have a great relationship with them. They’re very flexible in adapting to all the discussions and ideas that we had, as well as materializing them.
How did genuineq perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management is 10 out of 10. We use Slack and have regular meetings with Zoom and Google Meet.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their flexibility and adaptability to our needs are most impressive.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s nothing I see that could have been done better.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Send them an offer request. Their responses and replies are right away or within the hour. They’re adaptive.

I’m the general manager at POINT Consulting SRL, a small HR firm.
What challenge were you trying to address with genuineq?
We wanted to develop a web app.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They developed our web app which is a portal that we use to organize our career services. We have some differentiators in this portal. We included AI options like a matchmaking algorithm between the candidate profiles and the job description that we have. Everything is automated. The candidates just need to fill out a very short form based on keywords regarding their professional profile.
On the other side, employers put job descriptions in the system based on the keywords. The application does the scanning and matchmaking. This simplifies the process of applying to a job for the candidate and also the selection of the candidates from the employer’s point of view.
What is the team composition?
I primarily worked with one of the co-founders and the programming lead. I don’t know how many additional people on their team worked on the application.
How did you come to work with genuineq?
They were recommended by a partner of mine. The reason I chose them was that they have experience in HR applications. They were very professional during all the discussions.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about €38,000 (approximately $44,636 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in June–October 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re in the final testing phase right now. We launched the web app 2–3 weeks ago. We had around 150 candidates going on the portal and testing it. The feedback was very good. We had some minor adjustments to make. We didn’t have any major bugs or functionalities that didn’t work. They delivered what we wanted.
How did genuineq perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management is very good. We communicated weekly. We had video meetings every week. We took everything step-by-step and we communicated very well.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They understood what I wanted. I had discussions with several other software development companies and the main problem was getting them to understand the concept. genuineq understood from the beginning what I asked for which was very impressive. They also helped us to build the design of the web app which was very good. The communication was also very good.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t have anything to point out. We will work with them to develop some other models for the web app.

I mostly spoke with Cosmin (Founder), and from what I understand, he created the website.

We worked with them in the Autumn of 2019. It was a two-month project, and it ended in October of 2019.

It has brought my business to the next level. People can now find me on Google Maps, and from there they are brought to the site. On my website, I have a big advantage as people can see my properties and exactly what it is that I do. The site is exactly what I wanted, and it has totally improved my business.
How did genuineq perform from a project management standpoint?
I mostly communicated with Cosmin, and I really liked our interactions. He was very calm and understanding. He was patient with me, and he had to take me from nothing because I didn’t know much about this world. Overall, they were nice guys and I would recommend them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They tried to help me to solve my needs and problems and I really appreciated that. They really listened to me and helped me. It wasn’t like with other companies who just want to deliver a project and send me the bill.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, not really. Maybe they should have a bigger team to take on a lot more people like me.

I definitely would recommend them to someone else. Another team member who I had spoken to at first was very understanding and they are a great team to work with. Be yourself because they are very open-minded and I am sure everything will be okay.

I’m the COO for a civic technology NGO in Romania. We’re an organization that works on non-profit software solutions for civil society and institutions in Romania.
What challenge were you trying to address with genuineq?
We were working together with the Department for Emergency Situations in Romania on a piece of software that would assist them in managing their resources in case of disaster. Our team needed help building it out.
What was the scope of their involvement?
It was a web platform and mobile app attached to the database that gathered data about what they needed to deliver in the field in the event of an earthquake. Essentially, it was a resource management platform.
They developed web and mobile software applications to produce the internal departmental tool. We provided them with wireframes, a low-level MVP, product specifications, a general UX flow, and UI guidelines. From there, they delivered the front- and backend as well as the mobile app in their entirety. They produced the software using Laravel and Kotlin. Our team also worked with them to break down cost management of the solution, so they were able to dive into the system architecture as well.
We had one tech lead on our end that was supervising their delivery process. They were capable of delivering at our open-source standards for both code and documentation. It was very important that we worked with someone that understood the constraints and freedoms of open-source software.
The final solution involves data entry and custom forms for stock management. The mobile end validates several entries from the database and allows for SMS broadcasts. Since its an app for emergencies, users can access it in severe circumstances.
How did you come to work with genuineq?
I previously worked with them on a personal side project. They always delivered on deadline and remained very involved in the process, not just delivering according to specifications. They’re involved in testing and analyzing best procedures. The main reason I selected them for this project was their thoroughness in other areas.
How much have you invested with them?
We had a contract for £10,000–$50,000 (approximately $13,000–$65,000).
What is the status of this engagement?
Our contract with them is over, but we’re looking forward to collaborating with them in the future. We collaborated from July–September 2019. However, after our end date, we did a few extra hours with them to fix things that needed improvement.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re still testing the apps, but our initial data tests worked well. What really made a difference was the constant communication and their willingness to do account management for our partner.
How did genuineq perform from a project management standpoint?
They stuck to every deadline that we set. We received monthly reports in our meetings with their team, where we discussed blockages. They’ve been one of the few companies that have respected and abided by everything we set forth in the contract.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It was a very short project, so we needed someone who could deliver in three months. They were very resourceful in allocating resources to meet our extremely tight deadline. We understood the complexity of the project and the pressure we were putting on them to complete something in that short amount of time, but they were able to meet all the criteria.
Additionally, they were able to adapt quickly to our open-source software needs, which is rare for most outsourcing companies that typically do not deliver in this way. For us, it was a flawless collaboration.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
You’ll need to allocate a good chunk of your time to them in your initial meetings. There will be a lot of questions, which is a good thing. They’re great at understanding user specifications and how to achieve goals. This may manifest in longer meetings, but we ended up appreciating it because it cut down on the back and forth later on. You may feel that they’re too thorough in the beginning, though.
