Feedback summary:

GammaPoint delivered a solid app that's had minimal challenges in the years since. Despite the many requested iterations, their team remained patient and receptive to client needs throughout the engagement.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the owner and CEO of RocketMath. We publish educational curricula, particularly for math.

What challenge were you trying to address with GammaPoint?

We initially hired someone to build a mobile app for our platform, but they became unavailable, so we were looking for a new vendor to complete the work.

What was the scope of their involvement?

GammaPoint developed an iOS app, based on some initial designs and a small bit of coding that had already been started. We worked with them through several iterations until it was completed, and they launched it in iTunes.

They incorporated features that allow users to access math problems for five-minute segments, progressing along to more challenging problems as each lesson is completed.

What is the team composition?

We worked with two main people.

How did you come to work with GammaPoint?

I posted the job online and GammaPoint was one of the first to respond.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from 2013 to 2015.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were very happy with the final product GammaPoint delivered. There have been some minor challenges as Apple's requirements change, but we've been able to get in touch with them eventually for any additional assistance needed.

How did GammaPoint perform from a project management standpoint?

Despite the many changes I requested, they were very patient and receptive to my needs. Since it was my first development project, I wasn't familiar with the process, but they remained responsive and accessible throughout the engagement to help move it along.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Despite my lack of knowledge in the space, they were easy to work with overall.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The project would've moved along more smoothly had we had worked harder with their team on the initial concepts and details of the app before going into development.
