Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director and owner of Onata, a one-stop solution for various campus services. We have two apps: Onata–Seeker and Onata–Provider. Students looking for services, such as, tutoring, assignment help, music lessons, room sharing, and carpooling, can download the Seeker app and request them.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Futran Solutions?

We hired Futran Solutions to build a robust and scalable application with the ability to add various services at any time. We wanted specific capabilities, including payouts to providers in a timely manner, tracking their locations, and more. We didn’t have developers in-house, so we needed an outside vendor.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We selected Futran Solutions’ end-to-end packages. Their team took our idea, gathered requirements, and figured out UI. They formulated user stories based on our requirements. After receiving our approval, they started working on wireframes, mobile screen prototypes, and UX designs. We had several meetings regarding those elements.

We wanted to have two applications and a website, and development started concurrently for all three. Their team handled iOS, Android, web, and backend development. Futran Solutions also developed an admin panel that controls all the functionalities. The website is WordPress, and the backend was made with Node.js and uses MongoDB. The Seeker web app and admin panel were built in AngularJS.

Futran Solutions is our exclusive partner, taking care of our digital marketing through social media and email.

What is the team composition?

Futran Solutions assigned between 18–19 team members to the project. The team included a project manager, an architect, a team lead, and various developers. Our main point of contact was the project manager.

How did you come to work with Futran Solutions?

We came across Futran Solutions and liked their team. After hearing their business presentation, we accepted the proposal and started working with Futran Solutions.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent over $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Futran Solutions around late-2016 or early-2017, and the collaboration is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Futran Solutions delivered early, despite there being a tight deadline for our initial release. We’ve tracked our download numbers and user count, as well as our performance on Instagram and Facebook on a monthly basis. We’ve mainly seen an uptick in Instagram followers. We continue working with Futran Solutions for support, new releases, and patch fixes.

How did Futran Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Futran Solutions performed exceptionally in regards to project management. We set weekly meetings with the project manager, and they keep us updated on ongoing processes through Jira and Basecamp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Futran Solutions and their team are skilled in a plethora of services. Instead of having to go to a different agency for various parts of the project, they had everything in one place–from initial requirements, deployment, release, and digital marketing. We don’t see this too much with other agencies. With Futran Solutions, we received an end-to-end solution. We made a great decision choosing Futran Solutions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I wish there were better metrics to showcase overall progress and other improvements in terms of digital marketing.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Every customer has different needs, but for any client looking for this type of service, Futran Solutions works amazingly and keeps their promises.
