A nonprofit government agency hired Fuselab Creative to create a custom web app that allows users to visualize where the government’s COVID-19 relief funds are going.
Despite a tight deadline, the team proved their expertise by taking complicated data and transforming it into a user-friendly and well-designed web app. Fuselab Creative’s passion and dedication to the project led to a fruitful collaboration that ensured the fulfillment of the nonprofit’s missions.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the creative director of a nonprofit government watchdog, and we primarily focus on issues of corruption, abuse of power, and when the government fails to serve the public.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Fuselab Creative?
Last year, we started a project to visualize and create a database where users could see where the federal government’s COVID-19 relief funds were going.
We knew this would involve taking a lot of different data sources of publicly available information from the federal government and merging them into a web application — our goal was to display this information and make it consistent, navigable, and available for users. We were looking for a frontend company that had a lot of experience with data visualization and Fuselab Creative fit the bill.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had an initial discussion of our needs before we entered into any contract. When we officially moved forward with them, we went through a standard kick-off discovery phase where they really dug deep into what we were trying to accomplish, what kind of audiences we were looking to serve, what problems we were experiencing, and what challenges we might have with the data. This moved pretty rapidly because we were on a very short timeline.
Then we moved into visual design, discovery, and exploration. They provided mockups and did prototyping, and eventually, the frontend build of the actual project itself — it was a really iterative process.
The final product is a web application that is essentially a database. It required a completely custom solution — they took hundreds of millions of lines of data, merged them, and made them filterable, searchable, and manipulatable by our users.
What is the team composition?
We work with Mark (CEO), George (Creative Partner), a frontend developer, and a UI/UX designer. We’ve also been working with their partner agency, which helps them with data work.
How did you come to work with Fuselab Creative?
I did a lot of research on creative agencies that had experience with solid UX and design, as well as experience visualizing complicated data and databases in general.
We looked at Fuselab Creative’s portfolio and we valued the work they had done with previous clients — they stood out because they had experience working in the government and healthcare sector, and they were able to produce work that was really polished, with high-quality design and UI, while also dealing with a lot of complicated data. They had the exact qualifications we were looking for, so we reached out to them.
How much have you invested with them?
We have spent upwards of $500,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in May 2020, and it is ongoing. We've launched the project, but they still do maintenance work for us.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We're a nonprofit and this project involved some major funders for this work specifically, and they've been very pleased with Fuselab Creative’s work. We don't have metrics — we work closely with members of the government, so our goal was to build out a database using public government information to show what can be done and have them take that database to use as a goal for themselves later on.
Since we've launched this, we've been having a lot of meetings with committees and subcommittees on Capitol Hill, as well as some prominent government agencies, who want to talk to us about the tracker. Based on what we were aiming to do, this project has been hugely successful for us.
How did Fuselab Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
Most of our communication is done via email and meetings; that’s where we touch base on given tasks and priorities. We don’t really need traditional project management because it’s a fast-moving project with constant iteration.
What did you find most impressive about them?
From our initial conversation and forward, it was clear that we aren’t just another client for them and they are really invested in the work we do, which is really impressive. During brainstorming, they actively come up with ideas and make suggestions to help us solve problems.
Fuselab Creative is clearly passionate about what we do and they’ve been a really great partner in this project — they’re always eager to work with us on meeting our needs and our goals, and they bring enthusiasm, creativity, and passion to the table.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Overall, we are really happy with their work. I'm inclined to say it could’ve been improved by having a project manager for the project, but I can’t really say — it was three organizations working on something with a really short timeline, which was a real challenge.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They do their work really well. You need to trust their expertise and their judgment, and recognize that they can play a really strong role in the process.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
The goal of this project was to convert the specifications of the system into reality. Based on a significant amount of research and validation, the product needed to be validated and manifested. We brought in Fuselab Creative to act as both a sounding board and as a development house to ensure we had alternative points of view and the capacity and resources to delivery the end product. Deliverables included:
A Style System and Library
UI / UX Design Artifacts
Application Engineering to support the product
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The solution in scope was part of a broad-based research project oriented toward establishing a foundation for evaluating the efficacy of marketing-oriented initiatives in increasing adoption of guideline-driven medical care. In partnership with industry leaders, Clint was tasked with envisioning a solution that would meet this need. The key to sucess was to gain adoption and use of the new system to support end-user, medical decisons to close care gaps for patients.
This project not only achieved this purpose, but exceeded anticipated results showing a viable method for supporting the medical community in their efforts to delivr better care. This project met all volumetric and outcome targets and continues to exceed on adoption metrics, longterm outcomes are still under analysis but show very positive outcomes to date.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
Overall, project management was right on the nose. Timeline met or exceeded. Deviations from timelines (while minor) did occur (as in all project) due to external forces and / or appropriate situations. Clint has a philosophy of "Slow it down, to speed it up" as part of its core values.
More than once, Fuselab Creative acted as a Trusted Advisor to reinforce this principle. Otherwise, they have shown flexibility, stood their ground on important situations (even if controversial), and clearly delivered based on the expertise they profess as their core skill and capability. Very responsive and always listening.
What was your primary form of communication with Fuselab Creative?
Virtual Meeting
Email or Messaging App
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Overall, the experience and deliverables at the UI/UX level are outstanding. After working with a number of UI / UX firms, Fuselab Creative is much more sturdy in their work. Specifically, they are not only about the UI / UX, but about the whole solution, thus the solution and outcome are complete versus many past experiences with others, where there were always fundamental disconnects between the front and back-end components of the solution.
Honestly, these guys are far more practical than most firms in the UI / UX business and they don't automatically focus on the glitz and marketing that seems to pervade this industry. The team delivered a balanced, effective solution and got to the customer's objective with a high degree of efficacy.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Fuselab Creative could have done differently?
There's not a major area where I would criticize Fuselab Creative based on this project and experience. All projects have their up's and down's, to expect otherwise is naive. As such, when Clint and Fuselab Creative experiences these inevitable events, the focus was always on how to adapt and overcome.
If ever Fuselab Creative was responsible for something, they were the first to bring it up and be accountable. This is the difference between a patnership and a vendor relationship. Whenever they did encounter challenges, they addressed them with speed and grace. They are a true Partner.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of Playground Studios; we create dynamic NFTs for athletes and focus on the NBA.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Fuselab Creative?
We have several dynamic NFT technologies that we incorporate into our platform, but we didn’t have an in-house UI/UX design team, which we needed.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Fuselab Creative has been creating full-stack development work for us. They’ve done the front- and backend design and integration for an NFT platform I’m making, which aims to turn expensive pieces of sports memorabilia into NFTs. In addition to that, their team also performs brand identity efforts.
Their work has been done on HTML, CSS, Sigma, React, and Ethereum Smart Contracts.
What is the team composition?
We’ve been working with George (Co-Founder), Vlad (Digital Project Manager), and Roman (CEO). Additionally, they have a team of 4–5 designers working on this project as well.
How did you come to work with Fuselab Creative?
We found them on Behance. I saw their graphic design work on data visualization and UX, and I loved it. We decided to work with them because it seemed like they could provide what we needed for our business.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $75,000 with them so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in September 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I don’t have metrics because we’re still in the pre-launch phase. What I can say is that the site they’re developing is unique, and people won’t find an NFT that looks this great — everything has been awesome, and we feel like the project is very successful.
How did Fuselab Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re 10/10; they hit me up every day to keep me updated on the progress. In terms of communication tools, we use Slack.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The way they’re developing something unprecedented is outstanding — no NFT platform compares to ours.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Their constant updates and talented team are two of the things that stand out from their work. They understand my vision easily in a small amount of time, which is difficult.
Any advice for potential customers?
Provide them with a piece of your creative vision so they can turn that into something valuable.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CEO of a company that builds mobile apps for chiropractic and PT practices to drive greater engagement, care plan adherence and outcomes
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Fuselab Creative?
We have our initial MVP that has generated great data and feedback. We have decided to evolve the app platform and needed an expert in UX and UI. Fuselab has been great to work with from the very beginning!
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We interviewed a LOT of design firms. But at the end of the day, it was about their people. They really put their hearts and minds into their work and I could see and feel their commitment from the very beginning. You know good people when you work with them and they are very good people!
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
Because we have a product already, we oriented them to our current product, discussed our very detailed Miro board, share user feedback/research and industry factors, and then started the wireframes.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We had one of the owners, one project manager and two designers on the project.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
They did an excellent job creating the wireframes and also making modifications based on feedback. They were extremely easy to work with and they took our vision and made it show up in Figma. We are now entering the next stage of design and we can't wait!
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They are really easy to work with. They have great response times and they just work really well together as a team. Our team really worked well with theirs.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
As stated earlier, they clearly have a talented team -just look at the other products they have built. But what makes them stand out is that they care about the people and the product they are bringing to life. It's not just a process for them, it's a heartfelt commitment.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Not that I can think of.

A private consulting company hired Fuselab Creative for e-commerce and website development. They are creating a custom e-commerce platform and a website as a tribute to 100 years of history of the brand.
The projects are not yet launched, but the client is confident that the new site and e-commerce platform are better than before. Fuselab Creative’s attention to detail has surpassed the difficult phase of the project. Overall, their talent, integrity, and commitment are the team's unique assets.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the Executive VP for a private consulting company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Fuselab Creative, and what were your goals?
Our client’s website was, at best, an afterthought. It had been put together out of necessity, by piece work, over 15 years and was barely functional. They desperately needed a website worthy of their company that also reflected and respected their family history.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We met with numerous well respected companies that had great skillsets. But once we’d met with Marc and his team we knew it was a match. The combination of their dedication to truly understanding the client’s vision (which took incredible patience and a little mind reading!) their integrity, and the creative talent to deliver sold us immediately.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The project was a two-pronged effort. The first goal was to implement current branding and a modern approach to the marketing site that would pay tribute to the 100+ years of history of the brand, and also present the company and its products as an evolving and contemporary food manufacturer.
The final design implementation included hundreds of product shots, video production, and unique animation that brought hundred-year-old photos back to life with movement and storytelling. The second goal was to build a completely custom e-commerce platform to integrate with existing ERP, and provide a simple transition for long-standing clients, restaurants, markets, and consumers.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked directly with their CEO/Lead Strategist, Creative Director, UX/UI team, Development director, and Project Manager.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The project has been completed but has yet to publicly launch. However, I can say with confidence that the new site and e-commerce experience will 1000% better than the current site.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Their team became a vital part of our team and I could not be happier to recommend them for their talent as well as their personal attention to every single detail through a very difficult project.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I was impressed with their knowledge and ability to build an e-commerce site from the ground up. They managed to integrate everything into some pretty antiquated and home grown ERP software and still plan for a new ERP implementation working with our other vendors. Overall, it was their integrity and commitment to get the job done right that was unique. The client didn’t have a clear picture of what they wanted/needed, Fuselab took the time to beautifully showcase the business and capture the heart and history of the people behind it.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I was completely satisfied with the entire experience.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the head of people and operations at an AI and machine learning (ML) company. I handle everything from staff recruiting to supporting product development, helping unblock the team in any way possible on the technical and operational side.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Fuselab Creative?
We have a product that’s basically an ML model training platform. It’s extremely technical, and only a few of these exist on the market. The challenge was that we didn’t have an in-house design leader; we only had a couple of individual contributors.
As a result, we needed an agency to not only execute our design strategy but also help us define the design direction for our actual product. We also needed help incorporating UI/UX best practices with industry knowledge about end users in the ML space.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Fuselab Creative initially helped us design the entire product from scratch. As we went further into the project, they started working with our executive team, collaborating directly with our designers. When our team got to the implementation of the designs on the frontend, we realized we weren't up for the challenge. As a result, I asked Fuselab if they could also help us out with frontend design implementation.
We’re currently working towards where we want the product to end up in terms of design while we continue to build it on the backend. What we’re doing is basically the definition of a “design first” approach. While it’s hard to have a product’s design first before building something in practice, Fuselab has been helping us take this approach.
What is the team composition?
We collaborate with around 10 people between the front- and backend sides of the project. We have at least 2–3 designers on the backend. We mainly work with George (Creative Partner, Co-Founder & Lead Interface Architect), and then there’s one other designer that we chat with. Other people are working in the background. Meanwhile, on the frontend, we’re working with a frontend design leader and four other people.
How did you come to work with Fuselab Creative?
We initially searched on Dribble. We were interested in dashboard designs and uber data visualization so I literally searched “uber data visualization dashboard,” and Fuselab came up. I found out that they’ve done quite a few large-scale, data-centric projects. Our product was a technical tool for technical users, and Fuselab has worked on ML projects before, so it was a perfect match for us.
I also looked into other design agencies. We had a couple of calls with them, but none had the level of expertise in such data-centric projects. Many companies simply didn’t have the experience working with a huge amount of data visualization and dashboard creation to monitor and track data.
Then, we decided to call Marc (CEO & Marketing Director). He was very organized from the get-go. Within 24 hours, we managed to be on the phone with their design team, scoping exactly what this project would look like.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $50,000–$100,000. By the end of the project, we expect to spend closer to the upper bounds of that range.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in January 2021, and the engagement is ongoing. We anticipate staying with them until May–June 2021.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The way that Fuselab changed the product and its UI/UX design has been critical to the success of our company. Looking at the product now is like looking at night and day — it doesn’t even look like the same product that we initially designed. From a rough startup project, it’s now a polished product that looks like it’s from one of the most established companies around. This type of transformation can’t be quantified. We initially didn’t want to launch the product; now, we’re excited to do it.
Fuselab serves more like a partner for us than anything else. They’re the reason why we’re here today in terms of product design. They don’t only take tasks and finish work; they’re also incorporated into the design decisions we make.
How did Fuselab Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
Fuselab is plugged right into our workflow. I’m a big communicator, so I coordinate with Marc to ensure that everything is set in terms of hours, rates, and contracts. We do that through DocuSign, and we have an Excel Spreadsheet where I can check out details.
Their staff is also plugged as guests in our Slack channel, so we can collaborate in real-time. We’ve given them access to our systems, and the communication via Slack has been great.
At one point, we had daily standups with George and the design team to make sure that we were on track in terms of our deliverables and timelines, which were extremely challenging. To date, our work with them continues to be streamlined. We can hop on a call with them any time because they’re super responsive and extremely proactive, which has been great.
I’m a skeptic, so I always ask for a risk mitigation plan in case the agency doesn’t deliver. However, with Fuselab, we've received far beyond what we expect they can deliver, which is awesome. Given this, the project has turned into a long-term engagement with no real end in sight. The only time we’ll end the engagement is when we hire someone who’s as good as them, but that’s a tough task.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their biggest differentiator is that they’re an actual partner that works with us and gives us recommendations and strategies based on their experience.
Fuselab’s ability to work on both design and frontend is also important for us because it means they can bring the project to completion. On top of that, they can ramp up quickly. That’s awesome because if I had to work with a vendor that takes two weeks to ramp up, I’ll get further behind schedule.
Many agencies work on design, marketing, or UI/UX tasks — Fuselab does these things as well — but finding an awesome production design firm that has experience with ML is almost impossible. Given that, the fact that we found Fuselab is great not only in terms of skill set but also in terms of the way they operate as an agency.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any. I don’t see anything that can be considered as a gap in their service.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be an active consumer. Come to Fuselab with a vision for what you think your product should look like. Apart from that, give them extremely timely feedback — this is our number one priority in our team. We’re busy working, but we’re also ready to give 24-hour feedback if needed.
In other words, the only thing that’s going to block your progress while collaborating with Fuselab is your own team’s availability. Be prepared to give timely feedback if you want to stay on track. To get the best results, set expectations with your own team; let them know that feedback is critical to getting to the best iteration of your product.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
Online tire shop CMO / CTO Overseeing marketing and IT
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Fuselab Creative?
We hired Fuselab for UI/UX. Challenge: creating a unique modern UI/UX design in a competitive tire industry.
What were your goals for this project?
Creating the best destination for used tires in United States
increase in conversion rates
SOLUTION
How did you select Fuselab Creative?
We interviewed several vendors in both USA and offshore. Fuselab stood out on several fronts:
their existing work resonated with our design preferences
their approach to UI was on an appropriate level
their pricing was on point for the required work/budget
Describe the project in detail.
Scope:
create desktop, mobile and tablet version of all pages on an ecommerce site
animations
logo
style guide
documentation
Role:
we connected our team fully to work in conjunction with Fuselabs team
I oversaw the design/style direction while our team handled the requirements in terms of the elements
Responsibility:
Fuselab was fully responsible for the custom UI
What was the team composition?
Fuselab comitted 4-5 people to the project, with George (Marc's partner) picking up the early stages of the direction, before passing the settled approach to the senior designer and his team for creation of over 200 screens/versions in total.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
improved conversion
overall a unique modern UI experience
As wierd as it sounds on a review, as usually people play up things a little, Marc's words when we just started, stayed 100% true. His words were "you will love it" and this is exactly what happened. The whole process had a few "calibration" cycles, however apart from that it was an excellent experience.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Very effective. We "calibrated" the design requirements, after which both teams got to hard work. The feedback loops in instant with changes implemented the same or the next day for smaller items, and within a few days for bigger tasks. Figma was used for the project.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Team and consistency of the "sales" pitch, although Marc did not do much of the pitch. Usually people who are experts in the fields have the aura of confidence to them, that replaces the "selling" pitches. He's build out a team that supports his expertise and is a direction reflection of him from the first meeting down to 6 months at the completion date.
Are there any areas for improvement?
The team is pure creatives in their heart. With that comes the "creative" mess. A bit more organizing in the states/designs, however we figured everything out relatively quickly on both ends.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
As the director of client services, it is my responsibility to ensure all clients that interact with our brand strategy and design agency receive the highest level of quality in both product and service. We see our partners as an extension of ourselves and hold them to the same high standards.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Fuselab Creative, and what were your goals?
Following the completion of a success rebranding exercise, our agency was tasked with standing up an comprehensive digital experience as the cornerstone of the new brand.
The primary challenge centered around re-imaging the entirety of the existing experience from introducing a new content management system to integrating disparate existing digital experiences, all in truncated timeline in order to reach a desired market penetration deadline.
SOLUTION
How did you select Fuselab Creative and what were the deciding factors?
Having worked with Fuselab in the past, we knew they were up for the challenge. Our shortlist was exactly that; short, with Fuselab at the top. Following project planning and identifying both opportunities and realities we kicked off the project with total confidence.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Project planning was fast and furious to ensure deadlines were met and the proper level of effort was applied at each stage. To work efficiently, our team executed user experience explorations in low-fidelity to provide the Fuselab team the framework for back- and front-end development. Armed with a UX foundation, our design agency worked through user interface designs while the Fuselab team constructed the WordPress environment.
Once designs were completed and approved, the front-end development worked diligently to bring our design visions to life in pixel perfection. The team then hooked up the custom CMS backend and diligently executed the quality assurance process.
Once all parties were satisfied with the product, Fuselab facilitated a successful launch process, working closely with the client's internal technical team.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with a dedicated project manager who was both knowledgeable and responsive. In addition, the team included multiple front- and back-end developers and quality assurance experts.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Following the launch of the site, compliments on the design execution came pouring in. We were able to deliverable a CMS driven experience that allowed for our client to finally expand their digital footprint and market themselves in ways they had never been able to before.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
Due to the expedited timeline, we scheduled regular stand-up meeting to report progress on all sides. Project management was extremely collaborative, identifying opportunities and potential challenges at every turn and advising accordingly.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
We were and continue to be extremely impressed with Fuselab's commitment to detail. Development partners that put the same care and pride in bringing a digital experience to life exactly the way it was originally imagined are hard to come by. The devil is in the details and Fuselab is committed to that approach.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We couldn't be happier with the process and outcome. Keep up the good work!

Fuselab Creative led the site redesign of a telematics firm. They also performed a logo exercise and branding work. The team does custom work and animations, and they now lead the client's refresh efforts.
Since Fuselab Creative joined the project, the client's traffic has doubled. The UI refresh that they did have been noticed by the company's stakeholders. The team is quick, responsive, and offers cost-effective services. Above all, their creativity stands out.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a senior product manager for a telematics company. We connect commercial vehicles to the internet and provide data to help stakeholders manage their fleets. Some of the largest fleets in the world use our product.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Fuselab Creative?
We wanted to do a site redesign. Since we had an outdated UI, I contracted Fuselab to do a complete redesign of our website. We did the in-house development, but we worked with them.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
The team did a complete overhaul of the website. They handled everything from the discovery process onward, including identifying solutions, creating prototypes and wireframes, and designing iterations. Then, we also went through QA testing. Basically, we did everything with them.
Last year, Fuselab helped us through a logo exercise and with our branding efforts. We’re doing a couple of different refreshes right now. They also do a lot of animation, unique designs, and other custom work that can’t be found anywhere else.
What is the team composition?
We work with Marc (CEO & Marketing Director) and George (Co-Founder & Creative Partner). We also collaborate with their products project manager and probably two designers.
How did you come to work with Fuselab Creative?
I previously co-founded a couple of startup companies and I worked with them during other ventures, so I knew they did good work and did things on time. As a result, I quickly wanted to refer them over to where I was working at.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent in the neighborhood of over $40,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our partnership started in June 2019, and it’s ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our traffic data since doing an overhaul of our website has almost doubled. It’s an interesting point of where we’re at from a product standpoint, but I believe they’ve had a good impact on the product because sometimes perception trumps reality when it comes to visual design. We were already making changes in the background, but having that UI refresh caught the attention of a lot of people.
How did Fuselab Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
We’ve used a couple of different tools such as Figma for design, Gmail for webinars and conferences, and more. They’re pretty cost-effective and readily available. Furthermore, Fuselab is great to work with. We’ve become friends over the years, so outside of just working together, I’m friendly with them. Overall, they’ve been very responsive.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I can call Mark or George today, get on a call with them, and start doing the work by the end of the week, so things have been really quick. They’re able to pivot and make quick changes. They also have enough designers on their team. With other agencies, it would typically take weeks just to get things up and running.
We also like that they can take small works and do large projects because sometimes we don’t need a lot of work, so everything has been amazing.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t really have comments on areas they can improve. The only thing that I have — and maybe it’s a hard thing to do since they’re not doing in-house development — sometimes things are scaled differently.
They can execute on a certain design but the technical feasibility is not done right. I think it happened around 1–2 circumstances but not because of miscommunication. Perhaps, since they're not part of us internally, we can't really have a dialog with them regularly. However, it’s not their fault that they’re not doing both design and development.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure you have a scope of work readily available. Understand that it is an outside agency and it’s going to be costly, especially when you have rush deliverables. Remember the convenience factor when you engage with them and know that it’s worth it because they have creative designers who really keep up on trends.
We use them for more graphical, creative, and innovative designs that are just mindblowing. If you need something extremely different, Fuselab is a great place to go.
