Uniting hearts for children
Teleton Uruguay was established in order to provide a pediatric rehabilitation service available to everyone in the country. Their technical objective is the comprehensive rehabilitation of children and young people (up to 18 years) with a disability of neuro-musculoskeletal origin, in order to favor their family, school, work, and social inclusion.
Because of the pandemic, the motto of this year's event "Dar lo mejor de nosotros" urged people to help and keep in touch even from a distance. For this, they wanted to give the community the option to join and share their photos, forming hearts from a distance. The main problem was the time and manual labor of joining those images.
The proposal consisted of a system that would allow a user to join their photo with another taken from the community. This option would offer a simple edition made by the user himself, who could see the result in real-time, in addition to being able to share it on social networks.
Despite the short time available, we were able to create the system on time. This avoided manual editing of hundreds of images, allowing Teleton volunteers to dedicate their time to other tasks on the most anticipated day of the year.
In total, we have a repository of images and information of hundreds of users who used the system for a few hours. After the event, it stopped being used, but the intention is to renew it next year to use it for other purposes.

Helping an IT in the US to get acts of peace
The work was done for an American IT, based in Philadelphia. They are dedicated to helping non-profit organizations and it is something that motivated us to make contact.
The project seeks to encourage people to perform acts of goodwill, called "acts of peace" The goal is to achieve "1 billion acts". The website has quotes from people like the Dalai Lama, Greta Thunberg, and some Nobel laureates.
The team was distributed among different countries (US, Mexico, Uruguay, Hungary) and little connected. There was only one formal meeting a week, and there were no dailies. With all this, the incorporation of new people took a lot of time and effort due to the lack of intense communication.
The inequality in the implementation of the code carried out by different freelancers was notorious, which caused difficulties when advancing the system's functionalities.
We tried from the beginning to manage a more fluid communication with the team, without distorting too much the current work dynamics. In addition to being as autonomous as possible, also relying on Frasal's internal team, to use our own knowledge and avoid obstructing the daily communication of the project.
The integration within the team was achieved in a few weeks, which allowed a good adaptation to work with a very slight learning curve.
A process of standardization of the source code was successfully started, improving the quality of the solution together.

Improving a digital recruitment app
Tiarg is a technology company with more than twenty years of experience in the technology market. It currently has facilities in Argentina, the United States, Spain, and Brazil.
One of their products had a major launch planned in a short time involving a large number of users.
It was expected that with this event, sponsored by the Government of Buenos Aires, the use of the application would take off from normal values.
The biggest challenge involved the short learning time, the continuation of a legacy solution, and the large volumes of data.
The most important thing was the immediate incorporation of our team into the project.
Strong communication was maintained from the beginning, intensifying learning.
We also worked together with the rest of Frasal to provide external support to the team, so that the obstacles were less and easier to solve.

Entire angular app migration from Angular JS to Angular 6
All Gifted is an online platform founded in Delaware in 2014 which through the use of technology, provides affordable and transparent literacy and numeracy programs to students to prepare them for tertiary education or career, whatever their socio-economic background, will reach individualized education.
The main challenge on this project was not only the technical aspects of the migration but the communication challenge which arises from the time difference (Singapore is 11 hours ahead of Montevideo).
Our proposal was to promote an environment of transparency in the state of the project, reporting positive progress with the same haste as tasks blocked by decisions that the client should take. As the biggest challenge identified was communication, the focus was there.

An AI solution to rank lawyers
Emerita Legal is a platform that allows the promotion of lawyers and law firms according to an AI ranking based on the judicial decisions that are updated on the website.
Although many of the freelancers may have the undoubted experience, their problem lies in the lack of homogeneity in the results, in the lack of metrics, future visibility and scalability due to not having a work team. In addition, the lack of support service after delivering the projects carried out is a problem that falls directly on the quality of the product and on the internal work of the company.
Our proposal was from the beginning to offer a team with the knowledge and skills to improve this situation. A team was built that, in addition to implementing the developments, helped in the organization of the projects. Our work is done through agile methodologies always aimed to achieve valuable results in a short time and to have early customer feedback, which required more than anything a partner to accompany them in learning to be a startup.

One website vs Many travel agencies
Agileworks was dedicated for a long time to offer software services to different travel agencies in Uruguay. These services included hosting their websites, updating their promotions, maintaining travel packages, and integrating with other systems.
In the beginning, when it had a couple of agencies, there was no problem in keeping a few separate websites.
But thinking about increasing the number of clients, we had to think of a solution that would allow it to manage the information of each web agency separately while maintaining a single website.
A multitenant system was implemented where the web agency could be distinguished according to the URL of the website. That tenant allowed to establish the styles so that they were different for each agency.
Here, part of the Frasal team worked as members of Agileworks, using the tenant to distinguish the data to be displayed and the packages offered.

Machine learning to analyze user’s reviews
WO is a product that aims to make travel planning easier for end-users. It also offers easy ways to share information and travel with other users.
One functionality of WO is to offer a summary of the existing POIs comments and provide them to the user in a simple and direct way as a real data, just as if he had summarized it himself.
For that, an NLP pipeline was created where the information from the reviews would pass, extracting entities and the polarity of each comment

Generating and reporting information
Betrained was a platform designed to teach courses to company employees. The companies that bought the product created the courses and their multimedia content through Raccoon and then provided the dictation to the different employees according to their roles.
Among the functionalities that were most used were the reports of all the information collected during the courses. This could be of approval percentages, correct answers, permanence in each course, etc. In addition, aggrupations were requested according to different criteria in each report. The challenge lay in the volume of data, which made it impossible to query in real-time.
Working within Raccoon, part of the Frasal team designed an architecture that would allow for these queries.
It was about processing the information from a mirror database of the transactional (because the processing was also expensive), transforming it into a particular model for each report. This processing was carried out periodically, keeping the information in the reports with just a few hours oldBetrained was a platform designed to teach courses to company employees. The companies that bought the product created the courses and their multimedia content through Raccoon and then provided the dictation to the different employees according to their roles.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am a marketing assistant at a baked goods company.
What challenge were you trying to address with FraSal?
We hired FraSal to help us come up with the digital strategy.
What was the scope of their involvement?
FraSal strategized the launch of our new set of products. They focused on promoting our company through Instagram and Facebook. We were looking to reach a younger market and transmit our messages to our clients.
What is the team composition?
We worked with five people from their team.
How did you come to work with FraSal?
I had known about FraSal’s work ever since because I’m acquainted with one of the owners. I had also heard many good things about their agency, so I decided to hire them.
How much have you invested with them?
We pay about $600 per month for the basic marketing package.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working with them for more than a year now, starting in March of 2020. Our partnership is still ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The results have been very positive. FraSal has effectively translated our ideas into a great campaign, and they’ve helped us reach a younger audience.
How did FraSal perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicate via email and Whatsapp. The campaign materials that they would send to us for checking rarely require any revision or improvement.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The quality of their design and the extent of their reach is impressive. They are great at optimizing the results and keeping our needs and budget in mind.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The only issue we’ve had is that they usually send us the promotional materials very close to the release date. It leaves us with little time to review the material and make request changes, even though that’s rarely needed.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the chief of data science of MedX SpA; It's a company dedicated to medical imaging.
What challenge were you trying to address with FraSal?
We needed help generating a software platform for our business.
What was the scope of their involvement?
FraSal generated a platform for us. They implemented a pipeline of computations that we were developing locally on the web so that users could access these mass computations.
They put our pipeline in the cloud in a period of 3–4 months. We started to work with FraSal through meetings. They did everything online because we were in the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.
What is the team composition?
There were around six people involved in the project, but I only had contact with two developers from their team.
How did you come to work with FraSal?
Our CEO coordinated the work with FraSal, and then he introduced us to them and the rest of the technicians.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $10,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from April–May 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We worked locally with another group before; now, we can share our work with different customers thanks to FraSals’ work. They had the skills to reflect the things that we were working on and developed what we needed. They also allowed us to do the most important thing: sharing the work with our customers.
How did FraSal perform from a project management standpoint?
What I liked the most was that they were flexible. We needed 2–3 days during the week to do meetings for the coordination, presentation, and evaluation. They were very flexible to adapt to that.
That made it super easy to work with them. Regarding the deadlines, they were just on time.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Usually, we face problems, but we don't have the solution right away. We need to try some hypotheses and evaluate these, and in general, they were very open to this kind of approach. They adapted quickly to our workflow, and they liked it too.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I want more efficiency in running the codes, but I think they were savvy with their work for the moment.
Any advice for potential customers?
I encourage working with them. People send their projects to this company, and they have to develop them independently, but it's more beneficial for everybody to work together.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
The company’s name is Tiarg. It’s an Argentinian company with 23 years in the local market and we provide technology services. We have several business units. I’m the director of the Software Factory, which is one of those units within the system.
What challenge were you trying to address with FraSal?
The work that we’re doing with FraSal has to do with a project that’s already in a maintenance phase. They provide maintenance services for the back office and backend part of it.
What was the scope of their involvement?
FraSal was specifically hired to do corrective and evolutionary maintenance on a developed human resources application for recruiting and evaluation of soft skills. The objective was to give the dashboard more functionality and have them address any of our client’s issues if they show up. They used React for the frontend of our back-office solution and Python for the backend.
What is the team composition?
They assigned one person to our project.
How did you come to work with FraSal?
They found us and got in touch with our executive director. We had a conversation with them and saw which candidate they had to offer. A while after our conversation, the need arose to hire someone specifically and they already had resources that complied with all the characteristics we were needing.
How much have you invested with them?
I think we’re around $4,000 and $4,500 USD spent so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them about five months ago. We’re still working together and it will likely stay this way for a while.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The assigned team member’s good disposition and commitment produced quick results despite only having a week’s long induction. He started producing immediately. This is very positive for the project and for our team. Thanks to his abilities, they’re all able to work well as a team. This resource has adapted well to our way of working and is very flexible when it comes to necessary changes.
How did FraSal perform from a project management standpoint?
We use Jira and Conflience for tracking everyone’s work, and the assigned resource uses that for planning and prioritizing. We also have a monthly conversation with his superior at FraSal just to follow up and detect any additional needs we may have or address any difficulties for them or us. I think there’s a very fluid collaboration between us.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The speed at which they started producing results was noteworthy, as well as their commitment and positive attitude.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We did have a situation where our resource needed some additional support from FraSal. We faced a complex situation in which because of our tight timeline, they took some alternate roads for resolving a specific issue. Since we had such a short timeframe, we couldn’t take the necessary amount of time to find the most fitting solution for the problem. Overall, I think we’re working really well together.
