I am the CEO and co-founder of DrWealth.com, we are one of the leading financial education providers in Singapore with over 60K email subscribers and more than 100,000 monthly unique visitors to our website. We provide free financial educational content from blog articles to YouTube videos as well as paid training courses.

For what projects/services did your company hire Fractal Digital Pte. Ltd., and what were your goals?

Growing organic SEO traffic and lead generation were always an issue for us, and we are trying to put less reliance on paid marketing and grow our organic acquisition channels like SEO. However, operating in a highly competitive environment in the finance space means that we are always in competition with large institutions which have high SEO authority and bigger marketing spend to compete on Google search. We partnered with Fractal Digital to help us strategize and spearhead SEO initiatives.

Bowen was our Head of Digital Marketing at Dr Wealth before he founded Fractal Digital. So I trust his expertise and achievements.

The engagement involves competitive analysis, keyword research, onpage optimization, link building, technical audits and giving us advice on several international SEO matters such as expanding search visibility outside of Singapore.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have seen 300% growth in monthly organic visitors in the span of 10 months. Overall email subscribers, and sales have increased as a result. We are very happy with the results and self reported data showed that readers are finding us through Google search. That’s how we know Fractal’s SEO works!

Fractal was always on schedule and ensured clear communication on each milestone. They were well prepared for each zoom meeting and we managed to decide on many key matters. Perhaps it was because they took the effort to send the slides and agenda prior to the meetings.

Also, they were very responsive and quick in replying to WhatsApp messages. When it comes to discussing budgets, they are always upfront, and transparent even though at times it can be on the high side. Nonetheless, I like their transparency and managing our expectations to avoid any sort of invoice shock.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They know their stuff and have been in the industry for more than 5 years creating many success stories. Follow their lead and have complete confidence in them. They were passionate throughout the project and loved sharing their SEO knowledge with us, which is rare in the agency world where many prefer to keep it to themselves. More importantly, Fractal Digital thinks from the business point-of-view and recommends suitable improvements to be made, rather than implementing templates that may not work due to the uniqueness of the business or the industry it is in.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It would be great if they can cover social media marketing too so that the digital marketing strategy can be more holistic.

I’m the CEO of a holistic health and wellness platform. We work with a team of health and wellness professionals to curate free content to deliver to the public.

What challenge were you trying to address with Fractal Digital Digital Pte. Ltd.?

We wanted Fractal to help us increase our SEO score by optimizing our website articles.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We don’t have a team of ghostwriters, so all of our content is written by our team of healthcare professionals and nutrition specialists who aren’t well versed in SEO. We relied heavily on Fractal to support us with keyword and traffic research to better understand our industry and the type of language we should use to garner more site visitors.

First, Fractal carried out an SEO audit for our website to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. Then, we shared a list of common topics we use to create our site content, and they conducted keyword research. They recommended certain topics and ideas for articles within our field based on traffic numbers. They also helped us create a defined article structure that appeals to search engines. 

Once Fractal provided us with a new topic, we shared it with our team, who then wrote the article and sent it back to Fractal for editing. Then, the Fractal team checked the article for keywords and ensured the structure aligned with their standards before publishing. 

Since SEO was the cornerstone of our engagement, Fractal also worked on optimizing our website for SEO by building backlinks, changing the layout, and ensuring it didn’t take up too much bandwidth. The team made technical changes to the website to make it more responsive to mobile users.

We invested $4,000–$5,000 in the partnership with Fractal.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Fractal between June–September 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’ve been very happy with the results. Since working with Fractal, we’ve seen about 45,000 Google searches.  Our website sees about 300 unique daily visitors, and our YouTube channel has 32,000 organic subscribers.

The articles that Fractal supervised for us continue to bring in the most traffic to our website, even a year later. The top articles see about 500–1,000 average monthly Google searches and 4,500 click-throughs.

We’ve also gained more partnerships and sponsorships since working with Fractal. The engagement has positively impacted our business model, which relies on sponsored articles to garner brand awareness for our partners. Fractal has helped us improve our SEO, which we’ve shown to sponsors, who’ve been impressed with the results, making them more inclined to partner with us.

Fractal was very prompt with deadlines, and we never had issues. I was delighted with the project timeline and deliverables. We communicated through WhatsApp and email. Everything was transparent, and they were very forthcoming, responsive partners. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with their dedication and commitment to us; they never fell short of the promised results. We’ve also been impressed by the traffic they’ve generated, and we’d love to work with them again.

I have nothing Fractal could improve on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Follow Fractal’s lead and try not to question their methods because they provide expert advice and supervision. We had complete confidence in their work and allowed them to take the reins, which limited the back and forth; I think that was the key to our success.

We were looking for an experienced SEO to help with our on-page audit and implementation project, and our goal was to update the old content for better search performance.

I know the owner of this company for years and he has the knowledge and experience with content websites, knows exactly what we wanted to achieve and how to implement it.

After implementing the on-page recommendations, the rankings of the main keywords in many of our articles increased and so were the site traffic.

We mostly used Skype and Gmail for communication. Gmail for Google Drive related stuff, and Skype for calls and screen share.

They were very communicative and made changes based on instructions and decisions agreed upon by our team. And they were very efficient in implementing the on-page changes.

Not much, I'm pretty happy about it.
