What challenge were you trying to address with Focus Mode?

Our main channel to acquire clients is through SEO. We brought in Focus Mode to help us improve our website traffic.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

In the beginning, we held a strategy-setting session to identify our objectives, target audience, unique selling proposition, and messaging.

After that, Focus Mode created a complete marketing plan with us. We defined what steps we were going to take during the year, what kind of content we were going to produce, and how we were going to improve our website.

We also planned how to improve our technical and content-driven SEO, what we were going to do for social media and advertising, what was our email marketing strategy, and how we were looking at the analytics and reports. They help us follow that plan throughout the year.

Focus Mode also advises us on social media and email advertising. We have one person from our team posting on social media, but Focus Mode advises us on certain posts and campaigns that we run on our website.

We’re using Google Analytics to follow the traffic that is coming to the site and see where it is coming from. We also follow the conversion of the call to actions on our website and use a tool called ActiveCampaign to follow the statistics of our email campaigns.

We’re working directly with the two founders of Focus Mode.

How did you come to work with Focus Mode?

Focus Mode worked for one of our clients. We were impressed with the work they did for them; the client seemed impressed, too, so that made us take them in. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $30,000–$40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Focus Mode works for us in a retainer agreement. We started working together in November 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

All the statistics that we keep track of have improved dramatically. All the traffic coming in last year improved by more than 50%, and all of our SEO-driven traffic improved by more than 100%.

How did Focus Mode perform from a project management standpoint?

Focus Mode is diligent, transparent, and communicative. They keep me up to date on the agreements for the latest sessions, on what they’re doing, and on what we should do next. They’re on point on relevant communication, so we always know where we’re standing. They often have to chase me to deliver the assets that I promise, and they do it in a very pleasant way. The relationship with them works well.

Every other week, we have a staff meeting. In between, we have ad hoc communication with them more than once a week. We use Zoom and Skype for our calls, and we also communicate via email and WhatsApp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Focus Mode’s attitude is impressive. They’re very professional, friendly, and easy to work with. They’re very experienced and know the marketing world very well. The team is always on top of the latest digital trends, and they’re very proactive in suggesting what we can do.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Focus Mode should try to scale because they’re a small team. Other than that, I don’t have more suggestions — they’re doing a brilliant job at the moment.

Any advice for potential customers?

Give Focus Mode the opportunity to provide relevant feedback. Be open and transparent in describing your objectives. The clearer you are on what you’re trying to achieve, the better the services they can give. Be ready to open up and use them as part of your team.
